When i got my Merrell Moab 3 Mid Hiking Shoes in Bracken/Purple, I figured they'd be good for hiking, but I didn't count on how comfy and padded they would be! I have plantar fasciitis, so I thought I could never wear a comfy shoe again but the padding in these are amazing! And I can wear them without pain free because that arch support is not going to be bending any time soon! Trust me I tried haha They were so nice to walk in, feet didn't get sweaty or sore. For like a glove! And tons of toe wiggle room!

For me Moab 3 has many improvements over moab 2. Altho i love my 2s the arch support in the 3 is so much better. The mid sole is a bit softer as is the heel. Good job Merrell! Very happy with this boot.
I'd also recommend:
currently Merrell all around

Most comfortable boots right out of the box. My second pair! They are very grippy and I feel confident going up or down sketchy trails. I hike in AZ and WA.

My wife and I got each other a pair to travel to Italy during the first 3 weeks of September 2023. We walked an average of 9 miles per day. We might got hot and tired. However, our feet were well taken care of with these boots. We returned this past Friday and my wife has only good things to say about her pair. I love mine and definitely recommend you to get yours, if you want comfort and support for your long trails.

Returned these. My toes were hitting the ends of the shoes. Perhaps I should have sized up. Also they were entirely brown - I could not find any purple as in the photos, and that was a selling point for me.

I hike in the summer on vacation mainly. I bought these 2 years for a trip to Iceland. But I didn't really use them much until last summer in Montana. I found the soles to lack traction when there was snow or loose rock. And this summer we took a very long hike on difficult terrain in Olympic National Park and they were terrible. Slipping on snow. Significant toe pain on descent. Hip pain. Knee pain. I'm throwing them in the trash. They aren't worth the space in my suitcase on the way home.

These run small. I am an 11 and had to buy a 12 to fit. Other than that, I like them.

I have a different style of the same brand so I ordered the same size. These are way too big. I really wish size consistency was a thing.

I've been wearing Merrell hiking boots since I discovered them 30 years ago and wouldn't wear any other brand! The Moab mid-rise is the best choice. They last longer, and the fit is always the same, so I don't have to worry about buying them online. This means I never have to break them in! They also grip better, which is vital when climbing to the very tippy top of Bell Rock in Sedona, AZ!

Love these! They are super comfy and cute! I do however, would not suggest them for a rigorous hike. I found that I needed a little more ankle support.

The fit is excellent. I have been wearing Merrell's for over 15 years. They wear well and can take a beating. I would recommend these boots to all.

I am very impressed by these hiking boots. Lightweight and breathable, they are still sturdy enough to provide support and balance. I like the extra height of the thick sole. I will be taking these to South Africa for a safari vacation and anticipate that these are light enough not to burden my luggage, also that they will give me the comfort I will need during day hikes as well as the protection required on the trails. As a trial run, I wore them to work and walked all over campus, and this week I will wear them to New Orleans to see how they function as street/rain wear. I wear a 6.5W in street shoes and ordered these in both the 6.5W and the 7W and chose to keep the 7W so that I can opt to wear socks of various thickness, depending on weather. Overall, I am so pleased!

I think these Moab 3 mid hiking boots are going to meet my needs. Plenty of room in the toe box (even with 2 pair of socks!)

I would say these are true to size since I did size up a 1/2 size because I always do for hiking shoes and these are loose enough for thick socks and swollen feet from hiking all day. There is nothing worse than a hiking shoe that is tight, you want room. They don't slip off my heel at all. Plenty of room in the toe box. Love that they are waterproof but still let my feet breathe. Grip on the bottom is excellent for all terrain. Nice ankle support. I'm not sure how recycled materials hold up over time and I'm suspicious, but I can't comment on that since these are still new. Love the dark brown with purple and pops of black. I will wear these in the winter to walk my neighborhood when it's a little snowy and icy. I was torn between these and a similar Keen shoe but the Keen has a big bow on the back that I wasn't thrilled about.

Iam not a very experienced hiker but a older-in-age hiker, I wanted to take up hiking for the exercise. I started during a cool and rainy spring. I bought a pair of the purple color Moab 2 because they were rated very budget friendly, and break-in easy. All have been true. The boots were comfortable out of the box, provided good traction and stability, and haven't leaked. I hiked and climbed in them for 4 to 5 miles a day over a weeks and they did fine with good smart wool socks. They look good with jeans, leggings, or hiking pants. I wear a size 8 in tennis shoes and bought an 8 1/2 in the boots to accommodate the thicker socks. It's the perfect size, and the toe box is roomy. I plan to use them more in the years to come.

I followed Zappo's suggestion and ordered these Merrell Moab 3 Mid boots a half-size up. Glad I did! These boots fit fine, with good support for light hiking and dirt road walking, but they don't cradle the foot like the old model of Merrell Moab ventilators did. These Moab 3s are a little wider at the point of your foot below the toes, and yet the toe box is only adequate. I don't know why Merrell messed with their perfect fit, but they did. And I feel no improvement in padding under the ball of the foot, as the company claims. I've accepted that if I want a really great fit I need to invest in Zamberlan's or try some other brand. Keen's are durable, but have no shaping. I use my Merrell insoles in them so they fit!

It fit okay, just very cheaply made, not like the old Merrill. Still searching for that running shoe feel only in a boot.

First off the craftsmanship of this shoe is well constructed. I like the purple trimming, and the shoe seems tough. Unfortunately this shoe runs super small. I wear a size 8 and decided to order this in a size 9, as hiking shoes sometimes run a bit small and I like to wear a thicker sock. My foot is right at the top! And that's barefoot! So disappointed because I was really looking forward to wearing this hiking shoe. I respect the brand, but this didn't work for me.

This is the best hiking boots I owned. The very first day I was hiking 4 miles and it felt so nice and comfortable! It grasps the dry and wet, very stable, soft. I had problems and surgeries on my feet and tried on so many boots, this is the only ones that feel really good right at the start. Can't be more pleased.
