My third pair of the same great hiking boots. Still comfortable but the toe box is not as wide as my previous pairs, which is a little disappointing as I need the wide toe box to accommodate my bunions.

If I had reviewed this yesterday, five stars, no problem. But after a 6 miler today in mostly snow I am rather disappointed. I wanted to give the Moab 3 100 miles before my review and today's performance was not what I expected. The fit is great and I appreciate the longer laces. The snug heel side "cheeks" took some getting used to, but I like them. I wish they had a gaiter loop up front so I wouldn't have to hook my gaiters onto my laces. The wetness today is a real bummer, though. I've been a loyal Moab wearer, so much so that I bought three pairs of the orginal when I understood they were changing the model. Fit is still great.

So sad these didn’t feel wide enough. I bought the same size in the Moab low cut hiking shoe and these are not manufactured the same way. Low cut shoe is a true wide, this is not. 7.5 w was too tight, and the 8w is huge.

Super comfortable and well made. Great arch support. Runs half size small esp for hiking. However toe box was too narrow for me so I returned.

The length is fine. The width --I ordered a 5 Wide-- is too narrow . The arch support is too high and in the wrong spot for my feet. The removal of the innersoles helps with the arch support problem. But, I will not be able to hike any with the ridiculously under- wide wide width; I cannot wear my well-padded SmartWool sox with these shoes. Walks of half a mile to the grocery store with thin six should be ok, unless blisters form, of course.

I loved my last pair of Merrill so I tried to buy another pair. This one is higher on the ankle so rubbed me a lot. I thought it would go away when I wore it longer, but it hasn't. It also is not as waterproof as my previous pair. I don't know why it isn't as good.

Bought these a couple days ago. Very comfortable. Wore them for the first time today on a short hike in the woods. It wasn't raining, but the foliage was damp. My feet were wet within 30minutes.

Good boots but most definitely not waterproof! I'm a San Fran East Bay resident and usually hike on Mount Diablo and in the local regional parks and open spaces. I purchased these at my local Sports Basement in August to replace a pair of Keen waterproof hiking boots that I wore almost daily through last year's rainy season. I wore the Moab 3 boots six times to hike our dry August/September trails and was quite satisfied with the comfort level and grip on rocky terrain. Then I took them to Montana to hike in Glacier National Park. My first hike there was an early morning one-mile nature trail at the northwest edge of the park. No creek or lake crossings were involved. The high grass surrounding the trail was very damp with the morning dew. The boots were soaked through after that short one-mile loop. I returned to my cabin where I poured an eighth of an inch of water out of the right boot and changed dripping wet socks. I hiked the remainder of my Glacier NP trip in my sneakers. Sports Basement accepted my return so I'm satisfied with the outcome but these boots are simply not waterproof. They'd be fine for a year-round dry climate/desert hiking.

I so wanted these to work to replace another pair of Merrells (mid) in size 9, because they could no longer accommodate my bunion, I had purchased the Moab 3 hiking shoe, which fit fine, but I really needed the mid style for ankle support. Unfortunately, for some reason my feet were floating around too much in these. (Need forefoot width for bunion and a narrower cut for heel. Returned these and kept the hiking shoe version.

These would be perfect, but the wide is not wide enough for bunions. They really felt like a standard width. Disappointed.

Overall I liked these very much, but less than a year later they are DEFINITELY NOT waterproof. Perhaps one only gets nine months of use out of them. Now, If I walk through wet grass, my feet are drenched and they take a day or so to dry out. I'm very disappointed. They simply are no longer as high quality a shoe.

Even though these are a wide width shoe the toe isn't round and therefore is too narrow. The upper ankle part isn't soft and hits my ankle bones making these very uncomfortable. In addition, the bottoms could use more cushioning. The length was true to size. It's too bad they didn't work out because they are a nice looking, fairly lightweight waterproof shoe. They just didn't work for me.

I purchased these in July and finally got to test out how waterproof they are on a rainy 8.5 mile long hike in the Catskills. Unfortunately, these only lasted about 3 hours before my feet were soaked.
I have been struggling to find a pair of wide boots that actually fit me; regular width boots don't leave enough room for my pinky toes to not suffer blisters. These were really bulky around the toe box. There was too much vertical space so I needed to lace them tightly to counteract.
I wish I could return them, but I don't know if that is possible at this point.

There was a lump on the left shoe near the inside arch and I returned them and got a replacement pair of the same exact shoe and the second order had the same lump.

I just came back from walking my dog, it is a snowy rainy day here and my socks and feet are soaked! I purchased the shoes trusting the brand and the waterproof claim only for my feet to get uncomfortably wet inside the shoes. The removable soles were soaked too

I purchased Merrill's Moab hiking boots to wear for work (I work outdoors and for hiking). The boots are very comfortable and fit well. However they are not waterproof! My socks got completely soaked while wearing the boots on wet grass and stepping in shallow puddles, I returned the Merrell boots and purchased a pair of Keen boots.

I have “hard to fit” feet. But these were comfortable for me to wear literally all day on day 1.

These shoes are great in the snow and for hiking. They provide moderate arch support, but nothing great. I would size up a full size if you plan to wear thick wool or hiking socks. Great at water resistance. My feet stay nice in dry in the snow.

Fit was the same as my 7 yr old Moabs. I got the waterproof this time and my feet are dry and happy. With a good pair of wool socks they are warm as well, even in 10-20 degree weather

Merrell Moab 3 Mid WP 10 is the best-fitting hiking shoe for my 10 N (10 AA) feet that I have tried on during my 3-yr search for new hikers, although it seems about 1/2 size shorter than my other size 10 shoes: I compared the length of the insoles. Also, these Merrell insoles have way too much arch support and so I swapped them for other shoe's insoles. I'm returning the 10 to try a 10 1/2.

Love these! Comfortable out of the box, and provides excellent stability! I love them. They are just the right mix of rugged and stylish! I ordered a half size larger than normal so I could wear thick socks. Can’t wait to wear these for the cold/wet snap we're about to get. I have very flat feet, and I found them comfortable. No feeling of odd bump in shoe so others have mentioned.

As always Merrill’s fit a little small, so I got the 6.5 instead of my usual shoe size 5.5. That also gives me plenty of room for a chunky sock, which I like for winter hikes.

Secure boot with good waterproof protection. My first Merrell!
I need to wear socks that come above the ankle for the maximum comfort. Would recommend!
