Split it down the middle with my review. Received my men's size 13 early November 2022 as a replacement for a pair of MQM Flex 2 that was defective. Today is January 12, 2023. Roughly two months old. MQM 3 Gore Tex is s completely different shoe than the Flex. I use my pair for hiking in Massachusetts. First, the Gore Tex has been great keeping my feet dry. I've trekked through wet meadows, edge of brooks and rivers, stepped in puddles, in the mud and my feet are dry. Exterior of the shoe seems rugged. No tears from snagged branches or rocks. Traction is run of the mill. Not impressed. They don't dig into a trail surface like I'd hope. Stepping on boulders / rocks they can be slick. Stepping in stream side or river mud or trekking up a moist dirt hill, horrible traction. Wet pavement too. Not grippy. Laces frequently come undone, a major nuisance when it's below freezing. I have mine laced to the top and the laces aren't long enough to double knot. Toe bumpers on both shoes are coming undone. Stitching along my ankle at the top of the shoe is coming-up. Cushioning is not what I was used to with the MQM Flex 2. MQM 3 it's poor. I'm 6' 3", my knees take a beating. MQM 3, my knees are starting to ache. I have narrow, low volume feet. Narrow fit is great. Toe box is not too roomy and not too tight. I'm happy. The volume at the top of the toe box for me is not the best, completely different than the Flex, but has improved since I've broken-in the shoes. They crunch/fold into my toes. Thicker sock the better it is. If you have normal, narrow feet you'd be fine. I've contacted MERRELL customer service about my pair's defects and other feedback I'm giving in this review. Rep was receptive and I've initiated a defect claim via MERRELL's website.

Excellent kicks for getting around the DG course. I've felt really comfortable in my step while hiking through the woods and can rely on the shoes grip while letting it rip through the trees.

These shoes stood up well for a my first ever ultra race. Ran a 50k. It was two 15.5 mile loops in wv at falling waters ultra race. After completing the first loop in my Moab's I switched to the MQM 3. Finished the final loop with these and my feet thanked me.

I've owned a few pairs of Merrell's over the years and decided to grab these. I loved the color and design. I broke them in on a trip to Disney world and averaging 12 miles a day on a brand new pair They definitely stole the number one spot on my rack!

I've had this shoe for 3 months now and love it! The fit is perfect, it's wearing well, and my very flat feet are never tired or sore due to the solid support. Already have over 175 miles of trail in them!

Was not sure how good these would feel compared to my Moab 2 shoes, but so far, I love the way they feel and they are actually lighter. Perfect addition for my disc golf playing

Only had awhile, but very comfortable shoes. Provided needed support for my old knees.
One complaint that is minor, whoever laced the shoes didn't have one set of shoe strings even.

Love them so far! Still very water proof after a few months and several rounds of disc golf. Only thing I'm upset about is that I've worn down the treads on the heal from practicing disc golf on concrete but that's my fault. Still think they are a great purchase. Just stay off the concrete if you are bracing yourself for any sports practicing.

Like all low cut Merrills, they fit my feet well. They are warm in the winter (South Dakota)

Purchased for travel to Iceland in winter, great shoe for trails, icy conditions, and water. Exposed to lots of waterfalls, snow and mist. Shoe didn't get wet, no issues with grip and flexibility.

Use Merrell Gortex sneakers of all styles. For everyday use, Hiking, Bikeing, and Disc golf only use boots to go out shoveling snow and only if its alot of snow. Best shoes ever.

These shoes come as a pair meaning both LEFT and RIGHT. Make sure you need both before purchasing.

With a Goretex inlay in the upper, lacing deep into the toebox, lightweight and aggressive outsole these shoes are perfect for year round outdoor exercise walking and light hiking.

The Goretex model of the MQM 3 is a comfortable fit like the non-Goretex model. So far, my feet have stayed dry. Great to have a water-proof shoe for winter.

Great trail hiking shoes with good water protection for rainy situations. Extremely comfortable with great arch support and these are my 2nd pair. Will buy again unless I find a new Merrell that does the same job.
