The design of these Merrell Moab boots are very nice. I love the design and everything about them and that these are waterproof. They seem to be very durable. As for the fit I think these run a little small to size so I would get these in half a size up that what you usually wear. Other than that I am loving these boots and can't wait to have more hikes in the summer wearing them.

I got these shoes to wear when i go camping the pros are the shoes are made of really good material and durable the cons are the shoes are really uncomfortable and dig into your ankles and no room to a shoe insoles

These are great boots, comfortable and affordable. I got my original pair second hand and then put more than 1,000 miles on them. In all that time, they held up well and stayed waterproof.

Man I've wore a lot of shoes in my life and these have to be by far the most comfortable I've worn before. They are very hard-bottomed and come up the ankle enough to where it will protect you from small ankle sprains. They are very comfortable and feel like they could take an absolute beating. Definitely recommend! Very high quality.

Great product. My wife and I have had Moabs for over a decade. I especially like how wide the toebox is, really setting it apart from other brands. I tried many other boots (promptly returned) but went back to Moab. Only drawback is that it is a bit on the heavy side but OK.

My boots are still pretty new (90 days ish) and the front of the rubber is already peeling away from the body of the boot. This is my second pair of Moab's. Really enjoyed my first pair, but I might switch back to Keen because they last longer.

These are the best looking hiking boots around in my opinion. I usually wear an 11 wide. But, based on some reviews, I ordered the 11.5 medium and they fit like they were custom made for me. The arch support is great. No break in pain experienced. Time will tell how well they hold up.

Very pleased with the Moab 3. After breaking them in, did almost 20 miles in them in one day on the JMT, including hiking to Half Dome. Great traction, satisfactory comfort. No regrets with purchase.

I purchased the Moab 2 earlier this year and love them. When looking into the Moab 3, I upped my game by grabbing this model. The mid top, with waterproofing. The rains haven't quite come to my area yet, but I have used these on 3 separate hikes. I can tell they breathe less than the Moab 2 (non-waterproof,) so if you plan to purchase these, wear them when its wet outside! (Of course.!) :-) They are great shoes! Lots of solid grip, no sense of slipping or off-balance feeling at all. They are comfortable for long hikes, but as I mentioned above, I would probably avoid using them during hotter dry seasons and stick with the cold wet weather for use. My feet need to breathe, so that's the only error I personally made while wearing them. (But I had to try them!) I live in San Diego, so for reference if you have thoughts about weather in my area. Cheers!

I wear a 10.5 in everything else, for some reason I have to get these in 11.5. I have 2 pairs and love them. The Vibram soles hold up and last a good long time. Most comfortable boots I've bought in a long time. Water proofing works great.

My whole family have been big fans of Merrell for several years. I love their running shoes, but we had never tried their hiking boots before. These definitely lived up to our high expectations.
First of all, the comfort level is wonderful. These are the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever experienced. They seriously make walking a pleasure. We hike on gravel, pavement, around a lake area and actually live in a woodland forest area with creeks and small waterfalls. The waterproofing works well and is really nice to have in these conditions.
The sizing is perfect to wear with thick socks. The mid boot offers just enough ankle support without feeling clunky or restrictive. The thick, textured Vibram soles help with grip and balance. They have a well-made, good-quality feeling to them. I would buy these for the whole family.

I got a pair of moab hiking shoes for my son that is very active outdoors. As soon as I opened the box I could see the superior quality of these shoes. They have leather, a breathable mesh and are waterproof. My son usually tears holes in his shoes quick, but these have held up so far. I can see these shoes holding up to rough wear easily. I think they are well worth the money and if you are active outdoors or a hiker, then these are for you. The comfort alone is a great factor for myself.

Long-time Moab-Wide wearer, first pair of mid-rise and already appreciate the extra support around my ankles. Took them for a quick 6 km off-trail snow hike and they immediately felt comfortable. No regrets!

I am reviewing these without having worn them hiking, but am returning for a larger size. I've worn the non-waterproof Moabs for years, getting new ones every ~1.5 or 2 years when they wear out, and I bought these waterproof ones in the identical size...... but they are smaller. I'm exchanging them for a size up.
I'd also recommend:
Recommending other brands.... nope, Merrells are my lifetime hikers.

This hiking boot is super comfortable and supportive. I have a very wide foot and this 4E was perfect for me. I tried Keen Targhee II and III and Dunham Cloud, but none of them were wide enough.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance for tennis shoes, Propet for dress boots

Greatest boots I have ever had. Comfortable from the moment I tried them on, awesome all the way. They were troopers on a 17 day hiking trip, and I could not be more happy with my purchase

Hubby loves it! He said it isthe most comfortable shoes he has ever worn. He usually goes hiking while fishing, this shoes makes it possible for him to be on his feet for a long period of time.

Great boot for a wide forefoot. Doesn't pinch my neuromas. Used them in Vermont and Adirondacks. Kept my feet dry without being hot and sweaty. Excellent traction.

As always my new Merrells fit and feel fabulous. As these are "extra sets" I've only worn them briefly indoors, on carpet. But they're identical to the set I have on - and which prompted this purchase, and the next - so they've been placed back in the box. And set on a shelf, for when my current pair wear out. Or when winter comes. As that's when I'll require the waterproofing they have.
Merrell shoes and boots have been my go-to source for well over a decade now. And as I approach age 70, I see no need to look elsewhere. I've found what best suits me. So, Merrell, unless you do something stupid - like sellout to some foreign entity, or begin using cheap, inferior materials, employing poorly paid workers for production, etc - I'm sticking with you til my last breath. Literally.
I can't think of a better endorsement.

I broke in these Moab 3 Merrells on the Oregon coast in May. Lots of hiking in the rain, beach treks. Let me tell you, these are the shoes you want. Comfortable, durable, waterproof, stylish. I'm a convert.
