I got these when they were very on sale, which was great. They're my first pair of Bean boots, and I'd say that they're okay but not perfect. The leather as pretty stiff initially, but it soften up reasonably well. While they do have foam insoles, I wouldn't recommend these for long walks on pavement. They're fine for shorter walks or walks or longer walks on softer ground, though. My main complaint is that the fabric toping on the footbed for one of shoes started to peel away within the first week or so that I started wearing them. I don't feel it when I wear really thick socks, but with thinner socks it's kind of annoying. If not for this, I'd likely have given them four stars.

The flannel lining is great- but the boot provides little to now traction when it comes to slippery surfaces, it almost feels like it makes it worse. Great in deep snow though! Would love it if the shoes were wider- my feet cramp up, even with a larger size and my toes are floating

I loved the color and look of these boots. I really wanted to like them. Unfortunately, the leather is very stiff and the tongue did not lay smooth. They were uncomfortable on the top of my foot and shin. I do think the leather would soften over time. The insoles were really comfortable and the lining felt warm. They were large. I usually wear 8 and ordered an 8. I am returning and trying other styles with the softer tumbled leather in size 7.

I have long narrow feet. The quality of this boot is really nice, unfortunately it just doesn't fit me well. While the length is the right size, it is far too big everywhere else. No amount of laying socks or trying to tie it tighter will make it fit. The leather just bunches up all over the place and the heels slip. I love LLBean products, just not these boots.

They will serve their purpose but are a bit stiff. I think the break-in period will be a few more wears. They will need an insert to be comfortable enough for a full day of errands. For the price, they need better arch support and overall comfort.

Tried size 7, fit better but there is a ridge that is uncomfortable behind the heel.

I like these boots! They're much more my style than the ones I ret'd. They fit well nice and snug and also fit in the heel area.

I had to replace my duck boots after 25 years. The new ones are narrow and not as nice. I will have to search another brand. Disappointed.

Too narrow and wide width not available Disappointed in construction where interior of shoe has many seams that rub especially where foot of insulation meets flannel upper portion of shoe. Also, leather is extremely stiff! Shoe laces are also very stiff!

I've been buying and using LLBean products for years and received these boots for Christmas to replace LLBean hiking boots I'd used for years that had finally given out. The insole is fairly warm and comfortable, but even with the insulation and flannel, I found they weren't as warm as the Trail Model hiking boots. Also, where the first couple rows of eyelets for the laces are my boots bulge quite a bit above the top of my foot. No amount of lacing or relacing seems to gets this area to lie flat as in the image description and smoothly settle along the top of my foot. It is uncomfortable and looks bad. Also, sadly, after very minimal wear since Christmas, the label on the back heel of the boots is already peeling off and leaving the indented, empty rectangle behind. I'm not sure if I got a lemon, but the combination of bad fit and poor craftsmanship means this will be one of the few items I have ever returned to LLBean :(

I was really excited about these boots but they are just extremely uncomfortable. There is a bulge of something right at the back that rubs on my ankle with every step. I was so committed to making them work that I mailed them back for the next size up. They look like clown shoes and still dig in/rub.

The boots fit perfectly but had such an uncomfortable protrusion in the heel area that they could not be worn without getting a rub on the heel!
