A little snug in the sleeves for my husband who wears a large. Very warm. The washing instructions are a pain since it has to be in cold water only and special drying instructions.

Comfortable and good fit, a little lighter weight than the ones I have from previous years, yes I still have them, they wear well and are warm!

One of my favorites. Not as thick as the previous versions. Nice for me that it's now made in 3XLT.

I have purchased a few of these shirts for my husband in previous years. He loves them!
When I ordered this shirt this year, the colors that I preferred (Black Spruce Heather, and Sea Pine Heather) were Sold Out, so I ordered it in Bright Navy Heather. I looked at the colors available for this item in the paper catalog that I got in the mail, and also on-line. I was expecting the shirt that I got to be a bit "brighter". In my opinion, it would be better described as "Dark Navy Blue". In fact ,it looks quite dark, even in full sunlight. However, the quality of the fabric is excellent, and the cut and fit are excellent. I am NOT requesting a refund or replacement. I am complaining that the description of this particular color is misleading.

This is a great shirt but I like the cotton summer, single layer version better. It is softer feeling, washes and dries better. Although this part wool version suggests line dry I have partially dried it very low temperature and that works well - no shrinkage.

I like it very much. I've worn it pretty much every day since I bought it. The only thing I don't like is that I can't put it in the dryer. I'm hoping I don't forget and throw it in the dryer with the rest of the laundry load.

The fit was a little snug for the 2xlt. I could have been a little looser but it is still very warm.

Double layer with this shirt makes it a nice warm shirt to wear for outdoor weather work. My husband has one from many years ago that he refuses to get rid of even though it has small holes all over it from many years of wearing. He loves this shirt, so we got him several more now....but he still won't get rid of his original one. Color selection is great. Not crazy about the price though, but it is a good quality shirt.

The bottom hem is not finished and does not look good untucked.
Everything else is fine.

This is second shirt of this type I have purchased. This one isn't as thick as the first one. It appears they used less material. I would give 4.5 stars if able. I was wondering if LL Bean had changed the process to save a little material ($$).

Have been buying these shirts for years! I want clothing with the highest proportion of natural fibers. I am not a fan of synthetic fibers/petro fleece etc. In the damp climate where I live only real wool gives protection from the cold! I was sad to see you don't sell the shirts regularly anymore so I jumped at the chance when I finally saw them again. As you don't make them for women anymore I purchased mens size which are a little long in the arms but still work. Please bring back more natural fiber clothing!!!

It's very comfortable to wear, doesn't bind or pull the wrong way. My husband says it's soft and he likes wearing this shirt!

Fits nice. But the collar, holy shikes. It's a wavy wrinkled mess. Get your irons out boys, time to lay that neck flat!

Warm and looks great. Only downside is that it is a little "scratchy" when wearing. It will shrink some but is true to size.

I love Henleys, and this one is warm, soft and great that it comes in tall size. However, I do prefer 3 bottoms instead of two.

Cut full which is fortunate because it shrinks in the dryer. The main label is illegible and the inside tag is in French. So I missed the instructions. It's up to you to not care about the wicked scratchiness. Aside from that the shirt is comfortable, warm, good looking and well constructed.
I don't recommend it, though, because it has finicky care and someone is likely to throw this expensive t shirt into the dryer.

Bean does not offer river driver shirts for women, so I buy men's in a smaller size (M). I'm 5'5" and in the 160-ish range for now. I bought 5 of these shirts (men's) around 14 years ago and still have them. They are all tattered and ripped in places, but I've worn them a lot. Now I use them for sleeping and around the house. They are so soft, but.....I do not think the shirt I just ordered is as soft as the old versions - maybe it will soften up with washing? You need to offer more river driver shirts and in more colors, and it would be nice if you offered a women's size in a good quality, soft double knit - not watered down. The Medium I just got seems oversized, but I'll keep it, as it will probably shrink a little with washing and I do not like tight-fitting clothes. There is nothing better than a river driver's shirt for 3 seasons of the year, and I have a LOT of Bean winter shirts in lots of styles. I always reach for one of the river driver shirts - most of my other shirts just hang there on the clothes rack unloved.

The shirt is comfortable and warm. I wanted something to use as a layer and it fits just right.

I love these shirts - perfect for wearing around the house or layering up to go outside. Fit well and feel comfortable, the colors are nice as well. Not sure why it's $60, so I am taking a star off, but it is a great item.

I thought i was purchasing the river driver shirt with wool in it, thats all my husband wears, but this was not, so therefore i got in trouble and he has refused to wear it. I can't afford to buy another one, or i would have to go with out one of my meds, so it is what it is, my soninlaw wears it.

Based on all the reviews of people saying it runs big, I purchased a medium for my son. He is 5'11", weighs around 180 lbs. it fits but just barely. I guess if you want really form fitting it's okay. Fortunately, he's in pretty good shape. For a little more comfortable fit, next time I will buy a large.
Other than that it's a good weight for cool days. Well made. It was washed on cold and hung up to dry as we were afraid it would shrink in the dryer.

As soft as many of your shirts are, I was surprised the fabric was as rough as it was. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't what I expected. It was also much longer than expected. I know what it was designed to do. Perhaps you could include the length of it in inches. Thank you.
