I'm 6'2 225lbs and have flat feet, these are they most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever owned. Do not want to take them off. Wear to work on snowy/rainy days. The 10.5 was true to size. Do 5 mile hikes in the woods with my dog every Saturday and Sunday and have had no issues yet. Feet feel fine. Interested to see if they will be 100% waterproof in the spring with the wet trails? Will update then.

It amazes me that I can order online and get hiking boots that fit so well. This is the third pair I've gotten from llb. I am a National park worker and do a lot of tough desert mountain hiking. After relocating to the northeast I went with the leather boots for waterproofing. Right out of the box, these boots fit and feel great. Now, gotta go. I'm hitting the trails.

Good fit, comfortable, easy break in. Will check back in 6 Mo after they get a few miles on them.

I have flat feet, and it's very hard for me to find boots that fit well and provide enough support. These boots are amazingly comfortable, straight out of the box. I feel like I'm walking on clouds! I highly recommend them.

I had a pair of six year old hiking boots that I paid LL Bean $121. for. They were not worn out but the sole came off. I had no receipt and was not even sure of the year I purchased them. Their customer service was able to find the purchase in their database. Bean gave me a full credit and I purchased a new pair from them for only a few more dollars. You have to love a company that stands behind their products like that.---- I love these boots. Very comfortable and well made.

Both boots matched perfectly. Size was true and quality was excellent. Very comfortable boot. Extremely happy with the purchase.

I bought these boots about a month ago, so can't comment on longevity. But for the price, these are very comfortable boots. I've had a range of Asolo boots at double the cost, and I don't think you're getting much more with those vs these.

In the early 90's I invested in a pair of all leather Cresta Hikers, which were my favorite boots for over 20 years. They finally died a few years back. Since I'm over 70, I looked for a new pair of hiking boots that were waterproof, lightweight and comfortable. The Alpine Leather hikers hit the trifecta !!! My feet live them. I am delighted. Thank you LLB.

This LLBean hiking boot is a gem! Very comfortable, good looking and appears to be well made. I've had the boot for approximately a month and it's held up to the northern Maine woods hikes with ease. I would highly recommend and I would purchase again.

LLB has produced a very good lightweight leather hiking boot that thus far has been all that I wanted it to be and met the catalog description.

this is the most comfortable boot I have ever gotten fit to size and broke in immediately my only complaint are the rather plain standard shoe strings that I doubt will last long

I have struggled with comfortable shoes/work shoes for 20 years. I tried orthotics, everything and every shoe imaginable. My knees hurt every day. The first day I bought them last year was a blessing. I have been comfortable and pain free since then! I plan to buy a bunch and stock up. I hope they never discontinue this shoe Dan B.

Everything about them so far has been great. It's my third pair of boots purchased from L.L.Bean that were made in Vietnam and the first two pairs were darn good.

As to sizing - its hard to say what is "true to size" these fit me well, and had plenty of room in the toe box where i often find problems. Does that make them a little bigger there? I don't know, but overall its good. These are very supportive. not quite in the league as the Crestas, but much lighter, and much cheaper. Lacing system is good, and comfort is very good. I have not truly hiked in them yet nor subjected them to much water, but so far so good on both.

Excellent, comfortable boots. I have hiked and worked in them and have no complaints. Certainly they measure up to the quality of other llbean footwear products that I have owned over the past 35 years.

First let me say these boots make walking absolutely enjoyable. I ordered a half size bigger to accommodate more toe room. Break in was about two weeks for me only because of an old toe injury. I walk about 8-10,000 steps at work and each step no matter if it's concrete or dirt are so comfortable. I will be ordering more so I can wear them not just at work, but all the time. When you try these on you will be surprised how comfortable they are for hiking boots. The cushion and impact protection is exceptional. But what will strike you the most is the quality of leather used. Smells like new boots should smell. Not synthetic, but good quality leather. Lacing system is also awesome. Padded ankles make it function nice. Color is stylish. Feels like a sneaker but a boot at same time. Not clunky at all. These will last a long time.

No break in for these puppies. Excellent fit right out of the box. Very comfortable keeping my feet warm and dry.

I have only had them in my posession for a couple hours. the fit is perfect and as described when purchasing. they look great too. havent been able to test the aspect of being waterproof. I can only assume that from LLBean, they wont dissapoint..

These boots are absolutely comfortable right out of the box! No break-in period. I've only had them a couple weeks so time will tell how durable they are but so far I'm happy with the purchase and shipping was extra fast.

These boots feel just right size wise. I've worn them for several short hikes on the Appalachian Trail and look forward to many more.

Bought a pair for my growing teen who destroyed the last pair from TNF. Since i had great experience with LL Bean Cresta hikers for over 10 years (including two month-long high altitude Himalayan hiking), i decided to purchase these (the Cresta's would be overkill at this time). Boots are sturdy, comfortable, no hot spots, high class build. Will continue to monitor and update the review in an year. At this time i highly recommend these.
