They tore easily after just a week of use. Mind you and I only use them for walking around campus. For the price I paid I'm disappointed they tore this quick. This is the 4th pair of Hoka's I buy and I've never had this issue

Looking to start walking more. I had tried Brooks and then decided to try these. I'll be honest I don't like the super thick Hokas they look too much like shape ups. But these didn't. I haven't tried this brand so I ordered my usually size 8.5 and 9. Turns out those were huge. So I sized down to an 8. I love the 30 day trial! Allowed me to try these out and as a result I bought 2 pair black and white! I would not wear these for CrossFit or weightlifting. To me they are too squishy and not steady enough for squats (I use chucks for CrossFit and weights). But I love them for walks 3-5mile or more. What a great find I'm super happy!

These shoes run a little bit bigger so I would go 1/2 size down if you want more fitted shoes. They're really comfortable and great for the gym!

I've been looking for a gym shoe, and these are it. They it seems the do run a little big, the toe section is a little wide so I'm going to go down 1/2 a size. I have two pairs of the Clifton 8's and I love them for running but they have a bit too much cushion for gym workouts, but the Solimar's are the perfect in between. Not too much cushion but not to stiff. You can run in these but I don't think I'd do long distance running with these.

Love this shoe! It is lightweight and comfortable. I used to wear Clifton 7s and 8s, and I like these better. The toe area is not as large and airy as the Cliftons.

Recommend going half size up - maybe full size up for running sneakers - no toe room

Podiatrists and my family of runners have told me the Clifton, Bondi are best for me. They're not. They're great shoes, but they have two much forward motion built in. I have balance issues. I use a cane. I have enough built-in forward help without adding shoes that propel me, too! These shoes are wonderful!! They have enough support to feel great, enough cushioning to feel great, but yet are more like a tennis shoe than a running shoe so I'm not falling all over! Wish they came in fun colors as this is my new every day shoe !

This is my third pair of HOKAs, and I plan on being a customer for life. Not only does my foot surgeon recommend them, but my feet have never felt better! I like this design the best so far, as it is supportive yet also narrower than the other HOKAs I have purchased, so they are easier to style with "everyday" wear.

I am obsessed with my solimars!!! They are the perfect everyday sneaker, I wear them for walks, to work (I walk a lot) and for cardio in the gym. So versatile and look good on the feet. Soooo light weight and comfy, honestly need them in every color! Also get a lot of compliments because they're a refreshing look compared to OG Hokas

The black/white version of the Solimar doesn't scream "Hoka" since it is tone on tone. It also has a lower profile than some of the other Hoka models which makes side-to-side movement for cardio aerobics exercise easier. The reason for the one star deduction on comfort is that it is not as cushy as the Challenger model I have (trail runner). I still like the Solimar model and would buy again for as a fashion sneaker vs a workout sneaker.

Let me start by saying I am not in great shape. I have been working out 1-2 maaaybe 3 times a week for about 2 months. That includes some strength training and walking about 2.5 miles on a track with a friend. The first walk I went on in these shoes was incredible. I usually have shooting pain in the bottoms of my feet, in my knees and sometimes my hips. This time the pain has been reduced by about 90%. By the end of the first walk I was feeling a little tired. The third walk I went on was on a treadmill and SOMEHOW I was able to run a mile straight without stopping. That may not be a big deal to the career runners here, but I've only been able to do that one other time in my life. I'm not sure if it's the shoes, but I really don't think it's been my inconsistent physical activity. I'm very happy with these shoes. Again, it may be attributed to a combination of things, but my overwhelming feeling is that these shoes have changed my life.

I got these to replace my Clifon8s. The 9s had too much sole and felt rocky. These feel OK except the feel Narrower than the Clifton's. I'm hoping that doesn't cause a problem but I'm keeping them.

This shoe is honestly one of the best purchases I have made for 2023, I use it for work, when I'm at the gym, etc. I'm not used to wearing sneakers but these were cute and the name actually lived up to the hype for its comfortability. 10/10 would recommend

Ten years ago I had foot surgery. The podiatrist recommended Hokas. I'm so grateful! I have had seven pairs of the Bondi, which is wonderful for my power walks. But I wanted something different for just walking around. I tried the Solimar and absolutely love them! My only complaint: not enough colors. I want a navy, forest green, burgundy pair!

I feel really bad about returning this shoe. I heard that Hokas are the best for walking. The first style I bought was a slip on. It was like walking on clods with terrific arch support. The problem? They looked like clown shoes-- bit and clunky. I just could see myself walking around Europe in them, so I returned them. I bought this pair, instead, hoping for a great walking show. The shoe was attractive. However, Zappos kept recommending I get a size 10. I wear a size 9, so I went halfway to a 9.5. The shoe fit okay, though there was a LOT of toe room. Hmm. The arch support, or lack thereof, was disappointing. For $120, I expected to be wowed. These feel like Sketchers at double the price. Sadly, while I love Zappos, I decided to return them. I just couldn't justify the price when the shoe didn't seem all that spectacular.
I'd also recommend:
Beezees, Sketchers, Vionic

The shoe wasn't that bad, it was comfortable, except I didn't like how the ankle cushions rubbed against the ankle. I wanted to try to save money by having 1 pair of shoes for running and HIIT classes, but after running in Cliftons, I just couldn't use these as running shoes. They do not have nearly the cushion and comfort for running. I returned the Solimar and ordered Arahi 6 and can't wait to try those. Looks like I'm still shopping of training shoes.

Compared to the Hoka Cliftons, this shoe was a disappointment in the way they felt trying them on and the quality of the shoe. I wanted something with less cushion than the Clifton for gym training and casual wear. The insole has a perforation that does not feel good to the bottom of my feet, even with socks, and the shoe is narrow and I have narrow feet. Will be returning.

Would have loved to have kept these but as another poster mentioned, the edge around the ankle is too high and cuts into my ankle bone. What a shame.

I am a nurse who lives in her feet at work. I used to have to take prescription pain medication related to my arthritis and the line of work I'm in around the clock on the days when I work and the whole next day. On my first day of wearing these Hokas, I didn't have lower back pain! This repeated on day two. I've since had an annual checkup and had my dose lowered! Wow! Love my SHOES!
