First time use I was feeling a pain in the tops of my ankles and discovered it was the tongue sides that were digging in. The only way I found comfort while hiking was by turning in the tongue sides and cinching them down. This felt better and it held for a few miles. Not sure how well they will perform with longer hikes. On a more positive note, the comfort in the soles of my feet was the best o any shoe I have had. This presents a quandary for me.

I have boughten two pairs if these plus another Hoka hiker and I just cant make them work no matter he ow much i want them to. I hike and hunt a lot and really wanted these boots for summer deer anf fall elk, bear, etc. Super lightweight and gortex seemed like the perfect hunting boot for me out here in AZ. I wore them on carper for a week at work walking the halls and doing extra stairs to see how they felt. Something about the heal in all three boots. Like the boot is too scooped in the heal portion and it kind hurt my foot. Its probably my feet more than the boot, IDK? I tried and boot then ordered another if these thought maybe and bad boot but my feet were the same in all of them. Had these worked they would be the ultimate hunter and hiker out here. Id still recommend for others to try them though.

I used the Kaha2 for work. After trying this boot out for a week, I am still looking for a comfortable, waterproof boot that I can wear all day. I could not bear the pain this boot caused me. I immediately noticed that one boot was defective in the heel. The split-heel design would not allow the boot to land flat when I walked. My foot would twist inward (pigeon toed) upon impact. I still decided to try to break them in so I could decide whether or not it was worth replacing the defect. My work requires a lot of walking and standing, and I wanted to find something versatile with ankle support as well as a comfortable sole. After an hour in the Kaha2 I was experiencing a great deal of pain caused by the arch. I have flat feet, and the arch support was unforgiving. It seemed to go up the side of the boot, pressing into the side and bottom of my feet. By the end of the day I was in more pain from trying to stand in a way that didn't hurt my arch. This put strain on the rest of my foot. I thought this would change if I broke it in by wearing them. By the 4th day I gave up. Not only was the arch still hurting my feet, the twisting was causing my knee to begin to hurt. HOKA does not make a women's size past size 11. The 11 is just to snug, my toes hit front of the boot. I am forced to buy mens shoes which are usually a bit too wide, but more comfortable for my toes. The space in the toe area was plenty. Some people mentioned that the tongue was too short. The tongue does rub my shin, but long socks help with that. The laces kept slipping, so I tried catching the loop with the hooks on the boot. That seemed to hold them in place. The Kaha2 did keep my feet completely dry! The color also looks dark green, not jet black. It looks a lot different in person. I wish one of the stores near me carried this boot to try on before hand.

My husband is an ups driver on his feet a lot wanted to try your boots cause heard that they were very comfortable. Which in fact they were very comfortable he wore four days and one of the lugs(pieces of tread) started coming off and ended up breaking off.

Had multiple pairs of the Kaha hiking boot and they were the best hiking boot I ever had. These boots are not as plush or comfortable as the original. They took a step back as far as comfort. The tongue also needs to be higher, and they need to have the loop on the tongue to put your laces through so the tongue will stay in place better. A bit disappointing, I want to love them, but I only like them.

These were the first Hokas I've ever worn, and I know many people who swear by the brand due to the comfort of their Bondis and Cliftons...so, considering that these Kaha boots are a very different design, I'm not going to reject the brand completely. For me, the Kaha boots didn't work out. I purchased them with the intention of walking long distances over varied terrain (city pavement, dirt trails, etc) in wet or snowy conditions. I live in a northern climate and I generally walk as my primary form of transportation. The Kahas were good in rain & puddles, so that's a plus! Feet stayed dry. However, each time I tried to walk more than two miles at a stretch, my feet started KILLING me. It was so bad, I couldn't wait to tear these boots off my feet immediately. I wear merino compression socks with my shoes and I am someone who can generally wear any shoe for long distances without pain... except for these. Bummer. I had to return them. There were no issues with getting a full refund within 30 days of purchase, as advertised by Hoka.

I used the Kaha's for fall and winter hiking in Vermont, as well as a foray to the Faroes in December, early January. The comfort, support and water resistance (they are not completely waterproof) were terrific. The front tread, however, wore down after less than five months so that they are no longer very useful. I have purchased over a dozen Hokas and just wish they would use a vastly more durable sole; there may need to be a separate Hoka landfill soon if they do not (I understand the need to sell more shoes but there must be a better balance). I recommended them to a friend who also really likes them but they are hard to keep recommending given the high cost and disposability.

I love hoka boots and have been buying a new pair every year for 4 years. I wear them 8 hours a day and walk/stand for all of it. The first set of hooks above eyelits are tight and after only 3 months, I was getting ready for work and left boot lace snapped. I looked at right boot and it is frayed as well. We I can buy another pair, they won't have these hooks. Wanted developers to know so I msg customer service.

This boot is as comfortable as ever but there seems to be a production problem. I have worn Hoka boots for about 8 years now. Very comfortable and great grip on most surfaces. That said, I purchased the Kaha GTX last year. The Vibram soles started peeling off of the shoe after about months. I took them to a local shoe repair place and tried to have them reattached as I love the boot. That lasted for two more hikes and they delaminated again. Hoka was grear and let me return for a full refund. I ordered the new version the Kaha 2 GTX. I have had them 3 weeks and the Vibram sole is already peeling off these too. Very disappointed. I'm now wearing my original pair of Hoka boots which are 8 years old but most of the tread has worn off by now, but they never fell apart. I'm returning the Kaha 2 GTX and trying decide if I should order another pair. Wearing 8 year old boots while waiting for you next pair to arrive is getting old fast.

First pair of Hokas and I'm disappointed. I don't run, but follow running shoes and always heard good things about HOKA. I wear boots for work, so I thought this would be perfect. I do a decent amount of walking, climbing ladders and standing. These felt really flat considering the stack height and after a few hours my heels are killing me. They are very lightweight, comfortable upper and forefoot is very cushioned, but the heel for me feels like it's bottoming out. I've tried cushioned insoles and it only covers the problem for a while. I really want to like these. I guess I'm stuck with them as I've already worn them and didn't get them through HOKA.

Unfortunately, the tongue sliding downwards worsened with time. No issues with the previous generation which has a loop on the tongue to prevent migration. Also, I have to pay for return shipping.

I've had these boots for awhile now and have found them to be comfortable. The arch support on the shoe insert didn't fit my foot so I replaced them. Now the boots are very comfortable. The only down side to the boots is the boot tongue is not long enough causing the boot laces to ride up past the shoe tongue. This tends to get annoying. If Hoka could fix this problem it would be a 5 star.

Excited to try out my new hiking shoes however, they were not as comfortable as my old hoka, hiking shoes and not very breathable took them out of the box for a 6 mile walk hurt the inner ankles. I was disappointed in the comfort level of the heel. Hoka usually makes a much more comfortable shoe. I used to have an old hiker Hoka shoe and I have several pairs of Hoka running shoes. It was a 60 day and I was surprised how hot my feet got inside not a very breathable shoe.

the running shoes are the best i've ever owned. However, i'd like to see Hoka make work shoes with steel toes. not fair to workers to not get to feel the cushion that Hoka offers.

I returned the boot. I loved everything about it except I almost tripped going down stairs. The heel of the sole extends past the boot. I believe that is why I tripped. I know that kind of extended sole is a HOKA trend but a near head first fall down stairs was enough to convince me to send them back. BTW, I kept the predecessor model Kaya. Both should be a little wider IMHO.

The Vibram sole is nowhere near what it use to be. After a little over 4 months, the sole is 3/4 gone. Just like everything else these days, Vibram has cheapened their product to pinch a few pennies. For over $250 a pair with tax, I expect more!!! Shame on you Vibram!!! Shame on you Hoka One for using this average at best product on your boots/shoes!!!

This boot is very comfortable and I'm getting comparable wear out of it, I'm a lawn care guy. The issue with this boot, unlike the Ancapa, is that the tongue is too short, it bunches up in the bend of the ankle which leads to the laces slipping over the top of the tongue so I cannot lace them all the way up. I've tried moving the laces into the different holes but no combination changes the issue.

Looks like a great Boot and I wanted to love them. After trying them on and walking in the house I immediately noticed that they do not have near the level of plushness as the Stinson 6. I have returned those and will buy another pair of the Stinson 6. I am waiting for Hoka to produce this type of hiking boot in a comparable plushness as the Stinson.

These are probably the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever owned, but the uppers wear out way too fast; ie, the last two pairs tore near the toe guards where my toe joints bend within the first year or two. Considering the price of these shoes as compared to others, I will not purchase again until HOKA replaces the upper material with something that will last longer.

The new version feels chunkier, mostly because the sole extends out at the back. The profile looked nicer before.

Sturdy shoe but not nearly as cushy as the original Kaha. The 2 version has a much stiffer and less spongy sole that makes Hokas what they are ( or were ). Very similar to the Merell Moab in feel.
