I've had the Gaviota 2 and 3 and just purchased the Gaviota 4. Compared to the Gaviota 3 this is a nice improvement. Cushioning has gone up a notch to plush, yet they don't feel squashy. The extra support is great just as it was in the Gaviota 3. There is more room in in the toe box - It's where it should be where as prior versions were to narrow. The upper in general has been improved - It has the right amount of room throughout, it's very nicely padded, and it is nicely supportive. The black and white looks fantastic. All told the Gaviota 4 is my favorite Hoka. They keep improving on their sneakers and that has made a big difference in the Gaviota 4. I love this sneaker!

I've looked for a shoe that was both cushioned and stable and this is it. This is an exceptional shoe if you've had pain problems after surgery. I've had five on my left foot and have spent hundreds of dollars looking for pain relief for frequent hiking. This is the best by far that I've owned.

The shoes are comfortable. I have had them not even 2 weeks but the bottom is starting to peel apart. I only wear them to work 3 days a week. For the price they should probably last longer. Maybe mine are just defective? Otherwise they are comfortable just worried they won't be much longer.

Over the years I have worn all of the major brands to date the Hoka Bondi 7 was what I considered the best shoe for me. I recently purchased based upon a recommendation by someone in our running club to try the On Cloud Cloudace, after wearing them for a week I was not impressed. I then purchased the HOKA Gaviota 4,
There similar to the Bondi7 but with more stability, I will definitely be ordering another pair,

I use my shoes for walking on my treadmill and other activities that require balance. My shoes give me the support and comfort I need and at the end of the day my feet feel great.

I tried 4 or 5 of the hokas available in wide width and found this to be the best feeling of the bunch for general wear and walking. Even though I'm a bigger guy these still took about a week to really "break in" and feel the plush cushion. Once it did, though, these quickly replaced my slip on skechers (which I've lived in for the last 3 years) as my most comfortable shoes.
I am dismayed however that within two months there has already been some sole separation, which I've seen mention of in some other reviews as well.
Hopefully I'm able to get a decent amount of time out of these for the price they cost, but it's not looking very promising so far.

Finally what I have longed hope for from Hoka. A fully plush cushioned shoe with stability. I have the Gaviota 2, Gaviota leather, Bondi 6, Bondi Leather SR, Clifton 6, and Stinson ATR 6. Fav's to date are the Bondi Leather SR and Stinson ATR 6, with Gaviota leather close behind. Once I read the Gaviota 4 was now fully plush cushion instead of balanced, I got to my local Fleet Feet store and grabbed the first one out of the box. They are amazing. They feel as cushioned as the Bondi's, but with the added support. These are now my favorite. Now I just need Hoka to make a leather version of the Gaviota 4 to replace the one that was discontinued so I can use those at work.

I absolutely love these shoes...except they came apart at the sole after only 3 months of use walking in them. For $170, I would hope to get at least 6 months to a year out of them. So bummed to find a great pair of shoes only to find they don't hold up. I have owned other HOKA's and never had this problem.

Really liked stability and feel of prior Gaviota models (2 and 3), but did not purchase because toe box was too narrow. This toe box is wider than previous models. Hoka, please maintain toe box width on subsequent Gaviota models. Thank you

The shoe I ordered was recommended by my nurse practitioner, as well as my doctor. After seeing several PT instructors wearing Hoka's I decided to purchase a pair. I wear a womens size 12 and I never saw any 12 available only 11, in womens. So I opted to pick out a men's shoe in size 11. The shoe felt comfortable except that it felt a bit short in toe box area so, I need to return for a larger size 11 1/2.

Good shoe overall. I feel like it's slightly narrower than the gaviota 3 but still the solid support and comfort. My complaint is that the heel strap broke on one of my shoes in less than 2 weeks of wear. This shoe is wayy too expensive for a poor quality strap like that

Not only was the size wrong- it was labeled with the correct size, but ended up be way to small compared to the same shoe, style and size purchased previously. These shoes appeared to have been previously worn - they had dirt smudges on the bottoms and came laced and without the normal packaging.

I had a pair of Gaviotas before in a size 10.5, same as what I ordered this time, but they have definitely changed the sizing as these were a full half size too small. I needed these right away, so I had to buy a pair locally.

Great support. My only complaint is the sole wears rather quickly for a walking shoe.

I'm hard on sneakers . You name the brand they don't last more than 3 months feel them deteriorate around two months. I purchased brooks same scenario. I'm on 2 months now and there as comfortably as the day I put them on

The fit and sizing are great. Excellent arch support. My feet loves these shoes. My feet overpronate and the support feels so good. My heel pain and plantar fasciitis has calmed way down. Love the Gaviota 4!

I have used these primarily on the treadmill but prior pair used on my outdoor fast walking. Had issues with the back inside heel fabric wearing out super fast.
