The throw is soft and warm, but it sheds profusely. Washed it once and it filled up the dryer lint filter completely. We thought that was the end of the shedding, but it continued to leave fuzz everywhere. Sorry, LL Bean, it's being returned for credit.

The blanket is definitely soft but it does not hold up to normal wear and tear like they used to. My dog had one of these blankets for at least 7 years (honestly we had it for so long that I can't remember) and it was his favorite. I finally had to throw it away this year after it got thin from so many washes and torn from his nesting. Since then I have bought three more and they have all ripped within the first week of use. The quality has really declined. Not sure what is going on with LL Bean but it's not good.

This is the second one I bought because I loved the feel of the first one. This one was far inferior.

Quite cheap. I washed them once and they were covered with pilling. All three of them.

Blanket is wicked plushy and warm - problem is, the plush is all over the house. I have washed the blanket 3 times to get the plushy threads and little balls off and the blanket is still shedding everywhere. This is the first item I've bought from LLBean that I was dissatisfied with, and I've been buying from them for 30 years. If this blanket didn't shed, it would be GREAT.

I was looking forward to receiving this throw. It's a nice heavy weight and very warm BUT it's shedding like crazy!!! It's driving me crazy....I have never owned a throw that sheds like this!!! Please llbean don't sell this item...it's not the quality that your loyal customers deserve or want. The pic only shows a small portion of the throw, but it's over the entire throw! I'm very disappointed!

I have bought several of these throws through the years, and the colors were similar to what was shown online, but not his time. The "Antique White" is yellow. Unless you want a yellow throw, don't buy.

I have had one of these blankets for years that still looks brand new. I bought the larger size for my husband as a Christmas present with our name monogrammed. Less than 3 months later and it looks very worn and way older than 2 1/2 mths! I wash it just as regularly as my other one but it has begun to pill and does not look very nice anymore. Yes it still functions and is used but unfortunately it gets thrown in a basket with other blankets when company is over because I don't want to it displayed. I don't know if manufacturing changed but I'm very disappointed in the quality of this blanket. I do recommend this as a comfortable blanket but be warned it may not wear well!

Like others, we have bought these for years in large and x-large. Our latest purchase was quite odd because we ordered 3 in burgundy/red and 3 in grey. In the past after 1-2 washes (no fabric softner) the blankets come out great and we have no pilling or shedding. They were always minimal to begin with, but this last order the burgundy red was fine after 2 washes, but the grey was terrible. We literally washed them 10 times. We have front loader, under 5 years old washing machines and these got worse each time. We had to send the grey color back. We also washed a grey a burgundy one together and still after months of washing, we can't get the grey pilling out of the red one. I am trying to find other blankets now that do not pill and shed all over everything include ourselves. Sad to see these blankets have this issue because they used to hold up very well.

The throw itself is very nice. I love the larger size and its softness. My issue comes with the laundering process. I followed the directions on the tag. I have the red throw. A rogue white sock went in with it. It came out pink and covered in red lint. The dryer mesh was COVERED in a thick layer of red lint. Overall it is still nice. I would recommend washing it completely separate from other clothes. I have never run into a laundering issue with all my previous LL Bean purchases.

Not very plush and it sheds

I purchased the extra large throw in October 2017 and have found that it did not hold in my body heat when I was watching TV late at night. I actually felt cold after using it in my apartment after 2 hours. The apartment was set to about 70 degrees F.

I ordered 2 of the extra large white blankets. These are super warm and cozy. However, I have white fuzz everywhere ( my pants, couch, etc). Would recommended a different type.

Liked the extra large size but didn't follow the drying instruction as I have no patience for air drying something for more than 45 minutes. Will not recommend this to anyone.

I was looking for a throw blanket to use on the colder winter nights on top of our regular bedding. This is a very soft, light and comfy blanket, but it did shed a bit on our other blanket and I didn't want to brush off the lint everyday. I returned it and bought something more substantial.

It took almost three hours to dry this throw on air fluff, so I guess I won't be washing it very often which is not good as I have cats. Care is totally different from the wicked fleece blanket I purchased last spring. That blanket was dry on air fluff in no time. It also didn't shed like this one which got blue lint all over my beige sheets. Is there no way I can dry this with some heat? I'm seriously considering returning it.

I purchased this in Dec 23. Love the feel and color. Washed on delicate and dried on delicate. After a month, started finding little red balls of fabric on every synthetic textile surface, in the dryer, on the wool dryer balls. So, have put the blanket away and hope to eventually wash the red balls out of all the my clothing.

I purchased 3 in Charcoal Grey Heather 2 Large & 1 Extra Large for my son and he washed and dried 2 of them and what a mess lint all over just keeps coming. I also bought 2 in woodsmoke color and these didn't have any problems. I still have 1 large charcoal grey Heather that has not been used.

Fine until you wash it. The lint never stops getting all over everything no matter how many times it is washed and dried.

I'm SO disappointed in LLBean. My green throw COVERED everything I washed it with in lint. I had to throw away two pairs of socks, and I spent a long time using a lint brush over and over to remove the green lint from some bath towels and other laundry. I went back and read other one-star reviews, and LOTS of people had the same experience. LLBean, why didn't you stop selling these until you could fix the problem? This amount of lint can ruin washers and dryers--not to mention other clothing. I'm a huge LLBean fan and have written many glowing reviews, and I hesitated to even write this review, but I'm hoping to save other people the miserable experience I've had. I did wash iit twice by itself before washing it with other clothing, by the way. And I will be returning this in person.

Perfect for anyone .. I brought 7 for my Grandchildren .. and monogramed !!! ages 7- 21 years old ! Now for my Husband .. everyone very pleased

This throw was so soft and nice until washed and dried. When I took it from dryer, it was so full of pills and loose lint that I couldn't get it clean. I ended up throwing it away!!

I bought this as an extra layer of warmth for our camper. I washed it by itself prior to leaving for a road trip. Everything is covered in fuzz balls. Our bedding and most clothing are such a mess. I washed it again and it seems even worse. It's useless and will be thrown away. Hope I can get the fuzz off of everything when I get home. Huge fail for LLBean.

After washing the blanket it created so much lint and lint balls that stuck to the blanket and everything else I had in the load with it, I could not even use it without getting lint all over. Very disappointed.

Very warm and comfortable but upon washing it shedded and would not get better with dryer sheets in the dryer. Unusable.
