Wanted to love them and I almost did, but not at this price and with a major fit issue on the ankle strap. In the photo I’ve included you can see that the Velcro stops well short of the bottom of the strap — it should go to my thumb, or just about. What this meant for my low-volume but not narrow feet is that I cannot get the fit I want. If I use the whole Velcro piece, lining up the top and the bottom, the ankle strap was incredibly loose and my foot slid around. If I tightened it to a snug fit, the top strap overshot the Velcro strip completely — I couldn’t even fasten the sandal! I could make it work by tightening it almost enough, so that I had a relatively snug fit, but then the Velcro pads connected for only about a quarter of an inch. I imagine that at some point either the Velcro will wear out on that connecting quarter of an inch, or that any sudden pressure on the strap — slipping off a rock, tripping, maybe even going faster than a stroll — would mean that the connection point just wouldn’t be large enough to take that degree of force. For this price point, it is not worth the risk. If the Velcro pad extended to where my thumb is, or almost there, I could have kept these sandals. This is, imo, a major design flaw that is going to be a problem for anyone with low volume feet and/or thin ankles. It would have been solved by less than an inch more of the Velcro. Can you fix this on the next model, Dansko?

The ankle strap is a deal breaker. It is not long enough to connect adequately with the velcro. It renders the sandal unwearable for me. It is sorta cute, with the multiple colors, and I like Dansko Sandals. But this Sandal just does not work for me at all.

Beautiful, comfortable BUT.... if you have hallux rigitus or hallux limitus, the sole is, unfortunately, not stiff enough. It does allow your foot to bend at the base of the big toe. :-( :-( :-(

I ordered 9 (!) pairs of sandals from various places, and these were the winners! Bought for music festivals and touring Europe (lots of walking and standing). Super comfortable, supportive, and great cushioning.

Took these on a recent trip to Switzerland and they were SUPER comfortable. Really loved the comfort, but, I did have to wash the footbed a few times - the rubber doesn’t breath at all amd after a few days I noticed a stink that had to go! Easy enough to wash and they dried quickly. Definitely recommend.

These are very comfortable sandals that I can walk around in all day with no foot pain! I have plantar fasciitis that I have been fighting for over 1 year now. I did find the size chart for Dansko was not correct for me. I wear a size 10 shoe which according to their chart I should wear a size EU 40, but I had to get a size 42 to fit me just right. I do wish the black ones had a completely black sole though instead of the white on the sides.

The most fun and comfortable athletic shoes I've ever had! For my needy feet, much better than Keen or Teva- they feel like supportive clouds and the angle of the straps is surprisingly flattering on my feet. Enjoy the bright, cheery, crazy yellow!

I have worn different types of Dansko products for 20 years. The straps on this sandal are designed for pretty wide/high volume feet, meaneeing that when tightened, the top velcro overshoots the corresponding bottom velcro.

Well, I originally got the 7.5-8. I was super excited because they are so comfortable even on an hour long walk on pavement. But ... they felt a wee bit big, doing the slap thing at the forefoot. So, I ordered the 6.5-7 which is weird because I wear an 8-8.5 in shoes. The length of the smaller is better and they don't slap but the sole under my foot seems a bit off. Both pairs are super comfortable with a nice heel cup that has an extra little cushion, subtle arch support and the forefoot is cushy too. I wish the color choices were more outdoorsy, both the blue and pastel feel a bit dressy to me, oh, and I really don't like the white soles on the blue which is why I originally got the pastel with the gray. Pastel just isn't my cup of tea but I really need a good pair of walking sandals as I walk about 7 miles a day. These are the only sandals out of a dozen brands I tried that are comfortable for this activity. I've been wearing one of each around the house for a while and think I am going to keep the larger of the two. Here's pics: blue is 6.5-7, pastel is 7.5-8. Also, sometimes I need a wide shoe for bunion, these sandals are bithe comfortable width for me.

I said true to width because probably are, but are too wide for me. I love the shoe and wish they worked, but I need a snug fit to support my foot and keep it from moving around in the sandal. I have arthritis in my mid-foot. The velcro is places such that I can tighten enough for the snug fit I need. Otherwise, it would be a great casual sandal for summer.

I need a sandal with more arch support. The arch in this sandal is surprisingly soft.

These are the best shoes for problem feet I have ever bought in my life! I ordered three more pair after wearing them all day at Disneyland, and walking 7 miles the first day. They are comfortable, easy to wear, and actually rather cute. I wish they had these in even more colors, and I would buy every single one of them. And thank you, Zappos and thank you Dansko.

I need a shoe with arch support, so sandals are really hard to find. These are great! This is my second pair. You can tighten or loosen the straps, which lets you customize the fit. I can walk in these all day with no pain.

I was looking for a black sandal with good arch support for overpronation, that could take getting dirty (but was nicer than a flipflop), and had a little bit of lift/platform to lift me above the filth when at amusement parks, street fairs, festivals and other outdoor situations with lots of walking. While this style didn't exactly cry out "cool!", these shoes are incredibly comfy. I was concerned they would be too soft/squishy--and there is a lot of give--but they are still supportive enough to prevent pronation. The ankle strap was plenty long for me, although I have thick ankles, and the top strap works fine, too. (Saw a lot of complaints that people couldn't fasten these.) The footbed of this shoe is rubber, and it kind of feels like you're walking on a coated burlap or cotton duck (not sure how to describe it). It's not uncomfortable. So far, they haven't become stinky. I prefer the rubber footbed to the suede ones Dansko has been using that get dirty immediately and wear holes. I also won't worry if these get a bit wet in a puddle or sprinkler. I was concerned the canvas-y straps would rub my feet the wrong way, but they don't. All told, a great purchase! I only wish they were a bit cheaper - $110 for canvas/rubber sandals, ouch!

I love these shoes!! I have them in 3 colors and just ordered my fourth. I have walked all over Amsterdam and no foot discomfort! And, I have plantar fasciitis but these do not trigger it!

Love these shoes! Got them in yellow and compliments all day. Super comfortable, like walking on clouds. The adjustable straps are great for arthritic feet.

Wore these for 1 day at universal and 4 days at Disney. My feet were tired, but not sore. The best travel sandal I’ve ever experienced! I’m back for another color. I’m a high school teacher and wore the sky multi to school a few times to make sure they would work for our theme park trip and got lots of compliments from my students ? I usually wear 39 in Danskos, but a 38 was a better fit. I have slightly narrow, low-volume feet and I love how easy these are to adjust and that they don’t rub anywhere. So comfy and supportive!

These Dansko Raquel sandals are colorful and very comfortable. There us a fair amount of arch support and it's cushioned under the heel. I've worn them for several hours straight with no pain, rubbing or irritation. I like them so much, I ordered another pair in yellow.

These are VERY lightweight and a joy to prance around in. Love that they're so comfortable. I usually wear Birkies but also like Dansko and decided to try a pair that fit more snugly than Birkies. I think I will love these.

I LOVED the look of this shoe but similar to other reviews, not enough velcro for a long (size 40) to snug the feet. By the time you snug your feet into these sandals for a secure fit (no foot going forward) - you've run out of velcro. They are beautiful, I wished they had fit. I can see them working great for feet that are so long/narrow.

My only issue with these is that,since they are white, they will show dirt, and the top strap was too long so that when I velcro it shut, it hangs over the side by about 3/4 inch. If you love them you can just cut it off Im sure, but I live around too much dirt, have to return them.

These would be great IF... 1) IF Strap over ankle was LONGER (or had more velcro for people with a High Instep) AND 2) IF the Heel strap was SHORTER (or had longer strips of velcro for people with Narrow Heels). I could NOT attach the Heel Strap as I have narrow heels and the velcro is sewn in for people with "average to thicker" heels. The Outer SOLE is VERY nice and FIRM!! (which I need for Morton's Neuroma). I will try one "European Size" smaller, BUT I know that in order for this sandal to work for me: I will need to bring it to the Shoemaker to put NEW Velcro on 2 straps OR each shoe. Other Reviews have talked about the poor placement OR lining up of Velcro Straps.

The ankle strap does not work for thick ankles. They could easily add an additional piece of Velcro to make the strap work for those with thick ankles.
