The Brooks Glycerin GTS 20 is my current go-to favorite sneaker. I got these on a whim for when I need something a little more sturdy. I usually like to break in a new pair of shoes on a low activity day just to get used to them. The day I tried these, I ended up taking my 3 yo to the zoo and had several hours of hilly walking with a stroller and 30+ lbs of kid. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked these shoes. My back, knees and hips were happy at the end of the day and I can tell with a few more wearings these are going to get really comfortable. They are a little heavier than regular sneakers but otherwise they are really good. I got the same size as my Glycerin GTS 20s and they fit my feet well.
I'd also recommend:

I'm a 68 yr. old active women. I live in the mountains of western North Carolina and hike or walk on trails 2-3 times a week, year round. Five years ago I had chemo therapy and subsequently developed neuropathy in my right foot. Since then, I've been searching for a shoe that has enough cushion and stability to address this uncomfortable condition. I FOUND IT! From the moment I put on this shoe in the store, I was amazed how cushiony it felt. I have never gushed over a shoe. But I'm in love with the Caldera. I haven't done a long hike yet, but it's holding up well on rooted and rocky trails. I love the Caldera so much, I wear it most of the time. This shoe makes my other hikers and sneakers pale in comparison. Thank you Brooks for developing a shoe that has benefits for feet other than trail running!

I love the last two models of Caldera so I thought I would try this one even tho the looks had changed. These are very comfy and have good stability but the soul is large overall making them look like Hoka. I wish they would have just improved the shoe without going to this extreme. If I wanted a Hoka, I would buy a Hoka. Not for me but others may like it for comfort alone.

I guess my feet are weird, and I’m not meant to wear these shoes. I’ve had 4 orthopedic reparative surgeries on my right foot, and 3 on my left foot—Resulting from a near fatal car accident 12 years ago. I’m currently recovering from major surgery on my right foot, and the swelling is not nearly as bad as it was. However, getting the right shoe on and not having it rub so hard on the top of my foot, is nearly impossible. These shoes fit very strangely compared to the brooks shoes I’ve worn in years past. I know it’s designed differently, because it’s a trail shoe. It’s just the top fabric of the shoe, near the toes, is so hard! They have an abundance of cushioning, and support. The colors are very catchy as well, and I love how you can hide/tick away the laces. The coolest part is that the sole is injected with nitrogen gas, which gives the shoe a lot of cushion and bounce! Maybe I just need to get used to them and break them in on my bad, right foot. I took one star off for comfort, because of the tough fabric near my toes on my right foot—it hurts me. The rest of the shoe is really great!!

I love these shoes! They are comfortable and supportive. The colors are a little crazy, but they are pretty?

Giving this shoe a 3 was a stretch. I have been wearing this model of shoe for a very long time and every pair has treated me pretty welluntil now. I have sunk my foot lovingly into all previous pairs, knowing I would comfortable tackle on and off road running, transitioning on my longer runs from dirt to pavement with ease and cushion that was delightful. No more. I want to love these shoes, they look like you would be running on cloudsbut the foam is different. It's hard and unforgiving. I found myself putting on a worn pair of 5s, just to be sure I was feeling what I was feeling, and those 5s were still more cushiony than these clunky Calderas. I will be searching for a new shoe in another brand. For Brooks (and all shoe manufacturers)we rely on consistency. It's nice that you want to make improvements but our feet do not change as quickly as your models of a shoe do. Our feet are still our feet. Why don't you consider making a classic model and making no significant changes and then a beta model that people who are experimenting with their feet can wear. I depend on these shoes to keep my feet healthy and feeling good when i am running and I run in a lot of milesbut probably won't be running any further in new Brooks. Really sad.

A super comfortable trail shoe. I use this for walking not running but I usually do six miles a day in this shoe on rocky trails with lots of ditches and uneven terrain and this shoe is great. I will diffently buy this shoe again!

I miss the Caldera 5.....the Caldera 6 is a good shoe, but not as shock absorbant under the ball of my foot as the previous version...The version 5 seems more springy. I now have occasional knee pain...which I never did with the older versions. The toe box feels better in the version 6. I wonder how the specs are different.

Great trail running shoe. It is the right combination of cush and grip. They are light and allow you to be nimble on the most technical of trails. Roomy toe box is just what I need for that kind of terrain. In my case, my husband used a pair for a few weeks first, and raved about them. So now we're a His And Hers Caldera couple. Highly recommended. (Bonus, if you need to run on pavement to the trail, or otherwise run an intermediate segment on concrete sidewalks or pavement, these transition smoothly. Amazing design and versatility.)

This shoe is amazing. The moment I put it on I knew I could wear it all day without the normal aches. It is stable, a good fit for wide toes, light weight, and very comfortable for aging feet! I love these shoes so much I have purchased a second pair.

Love that I found this Caldera and don't have to wear Hoka as the rest! Comfy, cute and lots of compliments! Great for healthcare workers as myself walking and standing in my feet all day!

This is my 3rd pair of Caldera 6. I bought a pair of mens and womens to see what fit better. The womens do have a more narrow toe box, but good fit and stability. I really like the shoe base and stability in my foot and ankle. I took a SUPER expensive pair of hiking boots to Iceland, and by the second day I solely wore my Brooks Caldera 6. The other shoes were left at their second-hand store. These have been super amazing for walking, hiking, and even to wear to work. I primarily wear them for walking trails/ unpaved trails. They are really comfy and have good space in the toes for coming down steep trails so your toes aren't crushed.

I have been hiking on sometimes rocky trails over the last year with these shoes. They are pleasantly "sticky" to keep me from slipping on large rocks; it's almost like I can feel I'm gripping the rocks with my feet so I feel more confident in my walk on the trails. The cushioning is so thick that my feet are protected from sharp rocks and I don't have to wear hikers with those uncomfortable stiff shanks! I'm walking, not running FYI, so I can't speak to how well they would work for runners. I'm going to start using these for regular walks because the cushioning is so superb, and it helps relieve pressure on my joints. These may be a bit too bulky for trail runners (not walkers), but I'll leave it to the runners to comment on this.

Shoes were wide and a bit too big. I felt the sole was firm & supportive and I liked the traction. Returned this item.

I will be sending these back. The sole is so wide they feel like snowshoes. I've always worn size nine in Brooks shoes. These were too large, causing heel slip. Not what I expected in a Caldera.

Thought I would have loved these but I didn't these wear the fourth pair of brooks I ever purchased and had to return them all. These were very heavy I understand they are for trail but way too heavy you can't even wear them besides trail. Color combo beautiful but these just not for me. As a nurse I thought maybe they would have good support as well and that was a hard no my feet killed me 2 hours into my shift. Again, I get they are for trail but after speaking to a brooks specialist I was advised that I could wear them to work not just trail. So there you have it

These shoes did not work for me. After one short run, I saw signs of wear on the sides. The shoe was almost too roomy. They also had a little too much cushion for my taste. I loved the Catamount 2 shoe much more.

Didn't come in a wide width, so I have to return it. My colors were 082 - Black/Blissful Blue/Grey, & I absolutely loved these colors, but too narrow. Need more selections in Wide.

I bought this shoe for general walking. It is one of the few pair of shoes I own that , after a few hours of wear don't make my feet sore or painful. This shoe is very stable and holds my feet in place very well. Worthy of a re purchase when they need replacement.
