I bought these shoes for my 11 year old son with Down Syndrome. He can now put on and take off his own shoes. Good support for his ankles also. Highly recommend

Our son, Tom, is 19 years old and has dystonic athetoid cerebral palsy. Tom does not bear any weight on his feet as he is in a wheelchair. Over the years we have tried many types of shoes, including orthotic ones but because of his on/off high tone it has always been a struggle for him to wear shoes and sometimes even put them on with "scrunched" up toes. When we does wear shoes there have been many times that he blisters the ends and tops of his toes. Tom has been wearing Billy Lace High boots for 10 weeks and loves them and so do we. He has hung up his sandals and insists on wearing them every day. The zip system allows him to place his foot into the shoe, even with curled up toes and because of the soft material the shoes zip up and he doesn't experience the rubbing and chafing. They look great as well.We live in the UK and ordered from the States and they took two weeks to arrive. Even with postage/courier the price is way less than special orthotic shoes that have never been that suitable. Thanks

These shoes are the best for kids with braces. Love them!

My son wears SMOs (custom orthotics) and it is difficult finding shoes to fit over them. The size chart was really helpful in ordering and the removable insoles are key. These shoes are perfect for him. We also get a lot of compliments on them; they are super cute!

These are great shoes. They are so much easier to get on over his AFO braces and they look good too. We will definitely be ordering more.

Absolutely the best shoes we have bought for our son. He has special needs and wears AFO casts and these shoes are so easy to put on and so stylish. Everyone always compliments on them.

The shoes are really good so far. A little disappointed with the shipping tho.

Make my life so much easier brilliant if your child wears Daffos (splints)

These shoes are excellent for my son who has CP. The zipper has takes the stress and difficulty right out of our daily routine. He is so much more independent and proud of it!

I personally spoke with Billy Price, the owner. He was absolutely amazing in resolving the issue I had with my son's shoe. He personally sent me a replacement with a new and improved zipper. I was so impressed with his efficient customer service and I will be sure to purchase again :-)

Absolutely love!!! It makes school mornings and trips out so much easier to just be able to unzip and put my sons afo braces in and zip up to go. He loves his Billy Footwear shoes!!! They are more easy for him to use and he loves wearing them!!! Can't wait to see what new designs are in store for Billy Footwear!!

These are great and trendy all at the same time. My son can take his shoes off all by himself. Amazing!

My son wear a AFO and these sneakers are so easy for him to put his orthotics in and zipper. I get many compliments from doctors. Just 2 recommendations for the future have wide sizes as a selection bc his feet are a bit on the wide side and maybe more boy styles selections. My 4 years old son would like to see dinosaurs, Pokmon , monsters, sharks, etc.

Brilliant shoes great for children with a afo and easy for a toddler to use

Fair price. Works pretty well. A little hard to zip.

These shoes work great with my son's AFOs. They are very easy to get on and off. The problem we have is he wears holes in the bottom in about 3 months.

These shoes are the coolest shoes! Billy is the only shoe that my daughter can really wear with her AFO's and these are particularly cool as they change colors in the sun.

Great shoes. I only wish they came in the wide width.

Shoes did not fit with the new AFO's. Final sale so will give away or maybe he will grow into them. They seem to roomy for his foot without any orthotics. Waiting for a pair of extra wide.

They are great until your kids run in dirt, they get dirty pretty quickly and the insoles detaches quickly.

I love these shoes! These were recommended to me from a friend because my son was not walking at 17 months. His feet are pronated and is getting orthotics. He wants to put these shoes on as soon as he wakes up! After wearing them for a month before the orthotics he is now taking steps on his own. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the threading on the toe and therefore the zipper did not hold up to my son still crawling in them. I cannot unzip them all the way or I'm not sure the zipper would still work. But I will definitely buy more Billy shoes!!!

Nice shoes. Lightweight and durable (so far) we've only had them for a couple of weeks. I would like to see a better gripping sole for slippery walk areas.
