very comfortible shoe right from the first day on the court. I have had these shoes for about 3 weeks now and have been very happy with them. Really comfotable, and have held up well, i play about 3 days a week for 3 hrs each time. Good traction. Stay comfortable thru each session. They can get warm as it seems like they don't breath as well as some with cloth toe enclosure, but not bad. Not sure if price should be as high as it is. I have multiple pairs of shoes for tennis, i like to match my clothes and shoes, so the fact that these have a 6 month warranty on the soles wearing, may not be helpful to me. so i may have overpaid as the other asics shoes i have seem to have comparable soles with no warranty and about $30 cheaper.

I've used Gel-Resolution since the initial model. This is the most comfortable out of the box model yet. And it's incredibly stable. A nice touch is the lace pocket in the top of tongue.

Light weight, stable. Pouch for laces interesting touch- keeps from untying or getting dirty

After wearing the Gel Res 7 for a year and being happy with their performance, I was hesitant to try the next generation. After having worn the Gel Res 8 for 2 months now, I'm happy to say that these are my favorite shoes ever. They do feel slightly heavier than the Gel Res 7, but make up for it in terms of softer, more flexible upper and flexible but responsive outsole, making them feel faster on the court that the Gel Res 7. The best part was there was virtually no break-in time unlike with the Gel Res 7. The Gel Res 8 felt comfortable out of the box. The only negative for these shoes are that they come with shoe laces that are too thin and too short, same as the Gel Res 8. Before I tried these on court, I swapped them out with 1/2" wide x 59" long oval shoe laces purchased on Amazon. I do use the last lace eyelet for heel lace locking, so if you don't do that, you should get shorter laces.

A slight improvement over the rev 7. Fit about the same.

Although there were limited options available, once I made my choices, the transaction and delivery were as expected.

Comfortable and provide solid support. These fit great. I purchased these to wear in the clinic so I was looking for shoes comfortable enough to wear while standing all day and provide good support. I love the silver accent against the white.

I thought the color scheme was a bit flashy but my teen daughters like it. Gray specks on the white vamp seemed odd at first but now I appreciate how they subtly tone down the brightness. Performance-wise, superb support and traction. You will arrive at the ball more quickly and with confidence.

These are my 3rd or 4th pair over the years and I've found them to be terrific tennis shoes. Having had midfoot fusion surgery a couple years ago, the improved midfoot support is a nice addition without being bulky nor restrictive.

Even in the EE width, these feel more like a regular width. They're just barely wide enough to be comfortable.

I have had these shoes for quite a while now, and have completely fell in love with them. These shoes are extremely durable, comfertable, and well adapted to all sorts of playing styles.

I recently picked up tennis again, and now play 3ce a week. I picked the Gel-Resolution 8 because of their looks (in the pictures) and reviews and, yes I've not been disappointed. They are good looking and very functional on the hard court (Where I've been playing). I got size US-12.5, instead of the US-12 I wear in trainers (I'm size US 11-11.5, wide in normal shoes) because of the concerns from the reviews about tight toes. But I can see the US 12 would be perfect and I've ordered another pair (Gel-Resolution 8 Tokyo Retro) in US 12. Overall great tennis shoes, well recommended.

I love these shoes! This is a major improvement for Asics tennis shoes and I hope they continue with this and improve on it. This version of the Resolution is their best shoe yet. The softer front of the shoe reminds me of the first solution speed shoes which was their best ever. The materials also seem of better quality than previous versions, again a similarity to the original solution speed. I also love the lace system which keeps your feet locked into place. I really hope they apply this design to the speed solution and make that shoe great again. The Resolution doesn't get any better than this!

I am wearing R7 for one year. It's very durable but the the front the the shoes a little bit narrow. It may not fit for all people and may feel tired when playing for 3 hours. Because of the narrow head, I need to buy the size 27.5. And other problems is the height of the ankle of the shoes were too high. It make me feel uncomfortable when play more then two hours. But R8 is much more comfortable for me. It increases the width of head, so I feel very comfortable when moving different directions and I can choose the right size 27.0 for me. The R8 is giving me much better support at the back. So, I like this improving. This is the special edition for Japan's Olympics. If you don't like the color, you may choose another color. But the shoes were good.

Bought these because of the design. It locks your foot in place and gives you a glove like fit. Also extremely comfortable and supportive while still feeling light and speedy. This is not only the best gel resolution model, but is the best tennis shoe out there right now. It ticks all the boxes for a great shoe. Well done, asics!

Solid support, snug fit thru the middle. I've only played 2 matches in these shoes - it could use more venting/breathing holes given that the uppers are this rubbery material. Still - great looking and fitting shoe.

These are a comfortable and well supported tennis shoe. They appear to be wearing well and I expect many months of play. They really "grip" the court, yet have a "soft and cushioned" feel. On my foot, they run a little large in length and feel tight in the mid foot area. I would personally order a wider model, but this was not available. The heel cushioning is great, but it took a few hours to break in by active playing. Overall, I waited a tremendous amount of time for these shoes to be released and I'm satisfied with the purchase. I'm 60 years old and playing 3 times a week in a pretty competitive scenario.

This is really a great tennis shoe. It took few hours to break in for me but then it was amazing. Comfort is superior. My right fooot heel fee like coming out so I have to use last eye lid to tie laces. But all in all - great shoes.

Took some adjustment after years of only using New Balance. A stable, enjoyable shoe that is holding up well. Love the color and look. Hope you keep this style. Would love it in neon green or yellow, something funky.
