Wonderful boots, but I am struggling to find the right size with this brand and model. I don't think they run small at all, I mostly wear 8.5, but 8.5 medium is too large and roomy and 8 medium too tight...They'll have to go back, but I have now ordered 8 wide, hoping to be third time lucky! Because, in every other way, these seem perfect: good quality, great looking, waterproof, both modern and classic, everything I want in a casual boot. The leather seems a little hard and might need breaking in, but, if the size is right, that should not be a problem.

My only beef with Cobb Hill is the weird insistence on using a thick stitch around the cushioning on the insole. This is purely an aesthetic choice to give the look of leather, but the insole isn't leather and the cushioning could easily be a single molded piece. The thick stitching and the thick edge of the center padding rubs the bottom of your foot, even through thick socks. It's such a shame because the insert does provide some arch support and some cushioning, but it's unusable for any amount of walking because the pointless stitching is so abrasive. The insert is removable, so if you want to drop another $60-80 on alternative inserts, you can switch them out. Also note, these shoes run long. I usually wear a 9.5 M (size up to 10 for thick socks or with narrow shoes), but a 9 W is the right fit for me. These aren't as narrow as some shoes, but they have a low vamp over the bunion area (I don't have bunions, but I don't know how else to describe that spot!) so I decided to try a wide width to give extra room in the toe box. The difference is subtle, but I like wiggle room, so this worked perfectly. The mid-calf height is a little stiff/awkward before it wears in.

This is the most comfortable boot I own. It is a real shame they do not make the all leather version anymore. I would hoard them. I work in retail and I have to stand all day. These are super comfy. I wear them on snowy winter days and they look good enough that I can wear them in the store. They are waterproof. The shoe is very well made. I have the blue and it looks great with jeans. I wish I could get it in black.

These look great with leggings! Don't notice the heel when wearing...evidence as to its comfort!!!

Wow, I wish they still made these shoes so I could get a black pair. I have the blue. I am on my feet all day and these are one of hte most comfy boots I own. I wish they looked a bit dressier but I can still get away with them at work. I walk through Maine snow, no leaks, great grip. I bought the 10 wide size so I could wear heavy socks. I am normally a 9.5-10 and these give me a bit of extra room so I would say they run a tiny bit big. The blue is grayish and goes great with jeans. I did not need a break in period.

Excellent boot. I got these last year and wore them a few times. I was looking for a casual work shoe that was waterproof. I wanted something that I could walk through a Maine winter snow storm but still wear at work, a retail store. It needed to be very comfy since I stand most of the day. I have found I love these shoes and I am here at Zappos to see if they come in black still. I bought the blue (it looks great with jeans). I do have a DrShols pad in the boot. I stand all day with no problems. It is very waterproof--no leaks yet. I wear it with heavy socks and it is not tight. The leather flexes but I do leave the laces out of the top set of holes just so it is more comfy on my leg/ankle. These needed almot no break in time. I have worn them 30+ times and they still look almost new.

This is by far the best boot I have ever purchased! After many years of wear, it still looks good and feels good! Can I still buy a pair?
