I just wanted some minimalist summer shoes that I could wear for activities as well as dress up a bit, that looked stylish without standing out too much. These shoes turned out to be all that and so much more. I didnt believe the other reviews that said you could go backpacking in these... now I get it. For being so lightweight and unobtrusive they are incredibly tough. The insoles they come with are perfect for barefoot, but I found that to wear with socks its best to either remove the insoles completely or replace them with Vivobarefoot cork insoles. While I love Vivos, they too often stand out more than I like... these Astrals have similar fit, better (more grippy) soles, and look like normal shoes! Ill definitely be looking to Astral for future purchases and will recommend wholeheartedly. 10/10. I would recommend this product

LOVE MY LOYAKS!! ...I've been wearing them for a few years now, and have owned a few pairs. I typically wear a size 12.5 in most shoes, but with the Loyaks being offered in whole sizes only, I decided to go with the size 13s. They fit great barefoot or with a thin sock as intended. Typically i wear them as either a spring / summer time causal shoe, and also when I paddle my canoe or paddle board. They DRAIN and DRY incredibly fast, which is exactly what you want in a water shoe. Last but not least the GRIP is phenomenal on a wet, slippery surface. Highly recommend!!

This shoe is above all great. I love using it for kayaking and other things like going to the beach, but the best part of the shoe is its versatility. I work as a bouncer at a bar and that floor gets absolutely disgusting. With this shoe, I don't have to worry about slipping on vomit and then I can throw my shoes right in wash. I know Astral will never recommend throwing shoes in the wash, but these things last. Had them for over a year and they haven't failed I would recommend this product

These are comfortable and sporty. There is very little arch support, but with real laces, you can actually tighten the width of the shoe. The "nubby" inner sole is okay, but I fear it will become uncomfortable with long use--particularly with no socks. Good, low profile to the shoes. Works with shorts or pants.

Bought these for my husband in two sizes and his normal size fit perfectly. The toe box is roomy. The style is good for wearing out and about. He loves that he can fold them up and pack them. They're super lightweight and have excellent grip.

Fit and feel are good. One of the shoes pinches at the crease point inward (uncomfortable) versus the other outward (comfy). Overall, great look at feel, I love the flat shoes! I love Vivobarefoot, and this one is a sporty version of a flat shoe, so it is different but enjoyable. I wear them with dress pants and at a mountain biking event :)

These, by all accounts, were never designed to be every day wear shoes. Read a lot of reviews that dinged them for having no arch support, etc. However, I have been wearing mine for 500 days (approximately) and I have absolutely no complaints. I work outside. Often on a very hot dock. I could melt (literally) the soles off of a new pair of Converse Chuck Taylors a month into the season. I also spend a fair amount of time scrambling over rocks, in shallow water, on a kayak/SUP/windsurfer, etc. (All of this at work. I've got a pretty good job, in case you hadn't noticed.). Okay, as I said, never meant for everyday wear, I'm used to no arch support Converse, never know what Ill deal with in a day. These are the perfect shoes! I've worn these every day for a year and a half (unless there was snow on the ground) and I've just noticed that the sole at the heel is wearing thin. Really? Id have burnt through 3 pairs of Chucks by now. And they still look good enough to wear to town. Trust me, I have no problem with my general dirtbag persona, so these shoes may be too classy for me. Seriously, these are my everyday, three-season shoes. Will be buying more. I would recommend this product

I recently ordered my third pair of these. I originally order this shoe back in 2019 and used it almost daily for about a year. Got another pair and did the same. The shoe is great for really returning to minimalism and feeling the ground. It is very flexible and light so do not expect much support. If you are coming from hard shoe bottoms you may need to ease in to long walks with these shoes else your feet might fatigue easily. Overall it's a great shoe though - happy to have found Astral as a brand. Was into another shoe brand before but I noticed quality was really going down in it so I was looking for a switch and found Astral. I would recommend this product

I have large feet. Average with although they may eventually be wide feetI I ordered a US size 13 and it was too small and 13 or even 12 1/2 regular with suffices normally. It did for the sneakers I bought last month and two months ago but my toes were actually touching the front. They felt like they were slightly jammed into the shoe. They are quite shallow and the support inserts I normally would use probably would not have worked because my foot would’ve been too high in the shoe. I can tell you also they will offer no arch support to anyone who needs it.

I bought this shoe as a water crossing/camp shoe for backpacking which it works well for. You can fold the heal down and use them as slip-ons. The rubber insole makes it a little hard to put the shoes on when wearing socks without loosening the laces at lot but they do help the shoe dry faster after being wet. I have very narrow feet so this shoe is too wide for me but that was to be expected.

very very long shoelaces. If you want to wear these to be waterproof or wear hiking or in a kayak, seems counterintuitive to have very long shoelaces that can get wet, come undone, or get caught on something-- thought these were slipons but they're not
