To start, here are some things I REALLY like about this pack...size is next to perfect. Can hold a point and shoot camera, wallet/passport, wallet, glasses with room to spare with eqasy and still holds a trim profile when wearing. Back padded snap pocket fits glasses or a regular-sized phone for quick access. For me, the interior mesh zip pocket holds a small field book, pen, extra cash and stuff I don't need often. The pivots on the belt work exactly as designed and make sling carry much more comfortable and as a bonus, there are a great place for a carbiner attached to a smaller water bottle for hands-free carry. I like that I can easily add a cord lock on the belt buckle to prevent possible theft on a train or bus. WISH LIST: Consider adding a small zip pocket to the exterior front and consider moving the buckle closer to one side of the bag body...reversible for ambidextrous carry; even better. Great job Mystery Ranch...this one's a keeper! Best, Scott ...currently in Ecuador with his Forager.

I've got 2 of these, one mini for my daughter in peat, and the normal size, for me, in black. The mini has been around her waist for over a year literally every day. She loves it and it has held up well. The black one is the normal, classic 330 Robic material, which I like. It reminds me of a tighter 500d Cordura, and only a tad softer. I wear mine across the body when I travel internationally, and while in-country with all the essentials, so that I'm not carrying a backpack. In it, I'll carry an extra phone (iPhone +), usually in the snap pocket, and on the inside I have a battery bank, cords, passport, rental car keys, air pods, and a pen. When I sit down on a plane, I can still put my wallet in it. Overall it's very handy and just what I needed without looking like a purse.

As one would expect, this Mystery Ranch pack is very well designed and made. It is a wee bit smaller than I thought, and the larger size is larger than I need. My wish is that you made a size in the middle.
I also feel that the snap on the inner area is not really a viable way to keep something. I would never trust a single snap for such a substantial opening. I suggest Velcro or better, a zip.
As a current owner of a Dana Design Astralplane from the 1980s, I cannot say enough about the great products that have come from Dana Design and The Mystery Ranch over the years.

Middle aged dad here the Hip Mini is what you want 100% for EDC or CCW as the Forager is just huge, maybe the fjallraven high coast is a close second but the belt isn't as good, tried a bunch of hip packs too many are oddly shaped/sized or have some glaring weakness or just too expensive (uhh Hill People Gear pack come on..). This guy is the right size, good color choices for everyday use and not all tactical camo, very unobtrusive, and good quality stitching with YKK zippers. The Robic fabric is the right weight supportive but soft enough to collapse flat and has good water resistance, honestly if they used 330d Cordura this would have been a game changer but then the price would have much higher. For CCW any subcompact should fit (Sig P365 and Glock 26 no prob), I use the Raven vanguard holster on a lanyard and you got a sweet kit for nice draw. Still can fit an iphone and thin wallet as well.

I bought this bag after down sizing from another fanny pack that wasn't too big but had me carrying extra stuff to fill it. This bag I originally thought would be too small but it's a great grab and go. The swivel buckles also make it easy and comfortable to wear in different scenarios. I find around my waist is still my real favorite but as a cross body you can just toss it on as you're out the door and not fuss with any clips. I carry keys, wallet, battery, charging cable, hand sanitizer, chapstick, eye drops, ear buds, a gerber dime multi tool, and USB drive. I find i still have a little room to fit something else about cliff bar sized. I even attached a flashlight to it with a QD swivel. I love the yellow because I find my bag at a glance even in my mess.

I'm a gal and I hate carrying a purse. My pockets don't always have enough room for my phone, wallet and keys...and I wear prescription sun glasses/glasses so I need somewhere to stash those as I move around from the inside to the outside. Its durable, fits nice, I can wear it around my hips or I can wear it as a sling across my chest. Great pack for the minimalist that needs just enough space for a few items.

I wear it literally every day. It's small, but fits a ton of stuff. Wallet, keys, pocket knife, small flashlight, and a pen fit great with room to spare. The back mesh pocket fits my iPhone 11 pro easily and comfortably so that I even forget it's there. Best Fanny pack I've found so far and the price is ridiculously cheap for MR quality. Love it

I have the Forager Mini which is a great pack, but just a bit too small for what I need to carry, specifically my CCW. For me, the Forager is perfect with room for phone, flashlight, knife and my CCW. Great looking pack, and I have received compliments on it from friends and family. Mystery Ranch is great to order from, and shipping was quick. I highly recommend.

This little pack is light and easy to wear. Room for phone and other small items. A bit too cramped for CCW, though. If you need room for larger EDC items, the Forager is larger and just as easy to wear. I have both.

Love this bag. The half pocket on the back fits a iPhone 14 pro. While out walking the last thing I want is my phone in my pocket. This little pocket on the back is the best because as it's snug to your body and it doesn't have a zipper to make you fumble for your phone when you need it. The only thing I would improve would be to move the buckle toward the bag so it isn't in the middle of your back while wearing it as a sling.

I bought the Forager Hip Pack to carry essential items while on short trips to creeks and trails as well as trips in town during the heated months. This pack exceeds all expectations as a EDC bag. Perfect size for all my essentials, amazing build quality and materials. This is the reason Mystery Ranch is my go-to company for all bags from military duty to everyday carry they never disappoint.

I bought this a little over a month ago. I have used it almost everyday. Zero complaints, sits nice, it will carry everything you need. I do wish there was a hook and loop addition inside but overall great product.

I wanted something to hold my edc when I'm wearing drawstring shorts which I do around 7 months out of the year. Fits everything including a subcompact pistol comfortably. I wear it both crossbody and around the waist to annoy my wife.

Purchased the Forager for my vacation to England this year. Needed something more than pockets but not quite a back pack. Wore it every day for nearly 2 weeks. Mostly cross body but occasionally around the waist. Super light and very comfortable. Should have bought one a long time ago. Great product!!

Wanted a hip pack for riding, it works great! Minimal but holds everything I need and a lil more. Love the pivoting joint between the strap and the bag that allows for seamless shoulder or hip hold.

I love the size on this because I found most other options too big. This frees us my pockets and holds everything I need (phone, airpods, cards/cash etc) while being easy to grab and go. It tucks out of the way and I forget I have it on.

I bought two hip packs for use on my motorcycle and at work. I was hesitant at first on the fashionability of these pieces, but all of those thoughts quickly disappeared when I first donned my Forager Hip Pack and wore it out to my local dog friendly brewery. Men and women alike were drawn to it like a moth to a light, questioning just how many personal effects I could store in my utility hip pack. Bartenders offered me free drinks when I pulled out my own garnishes. The police let me off with a warning after I was caught jaywalking, while noting how easily i was able to present my state issued I.D. All of these things and more have been realized since I became a Forager Hip Pack wearer. I will continue to wear Mystery Ranch for as long as I have a Hip to Pack upon. May God Bless the Mystery Ranch Forager Hip Pack, and God Bless America.
