I love the fit. I ordered my regular size 9. Plenty of room for my toes. First I went on long hikes, (12 miles +). Then a 5 day backpacking trip on the Bartram Trail in NC/GA. The shoes are light, flexible and more support than the Altras I have. Good traction on wet rocks and muddy trail. They dry quickly, also.
My feet were happy and zero blisters! I ware Smart Wool cushion socks. (I often get heel blisters, but not this time! )

Wore them for my second ultra as my Lone Peaks weren't cutting it. The reason I switched was due to the Lone Peaks rubbing both big toes and causing blisters on other toes. Did not have that problem with this shoe. Shoes were comfortable and have amazing grip. Could use a little more cushion for longer runs, but need to run in them again to be sure it's the shoe and not just my feet being sore in general from high mileage. I would recommend these shoes to others. Will update my recommendation should I need to with additional wear.

SO this is my 3rd pair of Topos. And I am kind of disappointed. The sides around the opening are really low. They are not ridged soles by any means. They are soft and flexible. Good if you have strong ankles and neutral to High arches. However for my many times sprained ankles thanks to many years of ballet, I am prone to rolling an ankle. I haven't done that in 2 years, and the first time out with this model, I rolled my ankle. They are more narrow at the arch and heel then previous models I have loved. And I normally wear inserts, but these are so low cut at the ankle bone heel pad opening, that I cant wear my insoles. Then I am sitting on a platform with no lateral support. SO I have to wear these without insoles, not sure long term how that is going to affect my foot issue, but for know I will keep them because I have worn them a few times already. The color is great, and what I was looking for, the tow box is nice as always. But I could make improvements on this design I would make the arch and heel surface area a little wider, and the heel cup a little deeper. I am only 5'4" so I cant imagine someone 5'9" and over and how much their heel would feel exposed.

This shoe fits so snugly on my foot, yet has ample room in the toe box - none of that empty space like I experience with Altras. It has the right amount of cushion for a trail shoe - not too stacked to worry about rolling my ankle, and very nimble!

Stylish and reasonably cushy but the shoes were at least 1/2 size small. The toe box was hard and curved in tightly over the big toe.

Topo Terraventures have been my favorite shoe for a while - they combine the perfect amount of cushion/support without overdoing it plus excellent traction on all surfaces and plenty of toe space while still gripping my feet snugly for confidence on technical trails. This update changed the sizing so order a half size smaller than the previous models (that's actually probably truer to size for other brands just different from what they were). The fabric is different which I hope will make them more durable (a problem with the previous versions) but I won't know for several hundred more miles. My chief complaint is that the new reinforced bands around the midfoot feel odd. They haven't caused me any pain or abrasion - or even any true discomfort (even when I ran a 100k in them). They just feel a bit odd and slightly annoying for the first several miles every time I put the shoes on, even after they are broken in. So could be worse, but not being able to feel the bands would definitely be an improvement.

I am an amputee with a really wide foot that I must rely on for a lot of extra effort and movement. This shoe does what it says- protects my heal and arch while giving the wide part of my foot lots of room. No other shoe fit! I bought them 7/22 and wore them out by 3/23. When worn, the arch collapsed and the tough edges around the placket irritated the top of my foot. I'm hoping a new shoe will put me back on track for more mobility and higher function.

I love the nonslip soles, the wide toe base, and the overall comfort. They are my most favorite pair of shoes ever!

Walking trails can be slippery from rocks and grass. My Terraventures have firm footing and little slipping going up hills. Glad I opted for these!

Love Topo shoes, this was my 3 pair. They fit me better then most walking/hiking shoes. This was the first time buying on line and the process was very easy.

I walk a lot. I have multiple pairs of Terraventure. With it often raining I was excited to try the updated vibram sole with the Terraventure 3 but am always hesitant when construction is updated. I am very happy the fit is the same for me as my several original Terraventures. So far I have not worn them out in the rain but have had boots with vibram soles so expect they will be anti-slip. The shade of teal is lighter than how they appear on the website, unless they are in low light.

I honestly had never heard of this brand before, but was looking for a new pair of trail shoes and these had great reviews so I gave them a try. Last week I wore them running a race that was purely all sand going up and down hills. I was very impressed at how comfortable and stable these shoes are. I wore them again this week doing a trail race and there was a lot of sand along with uneven terrain, roots, loose stones, etc.. I felt very stable again and my feet didn’t hurt at all. I was trying to think of a good way to describe how they feel, I guess it would say like you were walking on cushioned tires with good tread(?). The ONLY thing I don’t like about these shoes is that they don’t come in other colors, because I’d definitely be buying another pair or two!!
I'd also recommend:

with this kind of toe shape I go up 1/2 size. its nice and narrow in the mid-foot, ample room for toes to wiggle freely, and excellent traction.. I'm not a fan of vibram soles as its less flexible than rubber, but this is the only shoe I could find that is good for hiking without being too heavy duty, and that fits my very narrow heels and mid-foot, yet is roomy across the toes. the big drawback though is that the upper has no lining so wearing in cold weather is an issue. nicely onstructed and will last a long time, especially since I'm very light on my feet

I really really wanted these to work. The foot bed felt sooo good. And for once my slightly wide toes had plenty of room and my skinny heel didn't slip! There was enough cushioning I was picturing hiking all over in these. Unfortunately, the way the tongue is sewn into the shoe creates a hard ridge that dug into the top of my foot. Mildly uncomfortable in my kitchen tends to become torture on a trail. I have fairly high arches, so it may not be an issue for most folks. I also ordered the Topo Athletic MT-4 and they're a keeper!

Although I wanted a wider toe box, there are way too sloppy. Not a good brand for me so returned them.

I really wanted these shoes to work - they look good and they seem well-made. I have bunions and recently tried to transition to the Altra tmp. Unfortunately I'm stepping down from Adidas Ultraboost and that's too much of a drop for me to take at one time, so I hurt my achilles. Thought Topo would be a great option with a wide toebox but also a bit of a drop, but unfortunately this toebox would only seem wide to someone who has a narrowish foot to start with. I'll keep checking back to see if Topo starts making any wides!

The Terraventure 3 just can't measure up to my beloved 2s. They are at least a half size bigger, and narrower in the forefoot. I tried to make them work but they are just too narrow for my bunion, and too long for safe, technical descents. If they weren't so narrow I would size down.
For reference, I wear an 8.5 in all 4 of my other Topo shoes. I have narrow feet with bunions, and skinny little heels. The previous version was a perfect fit for me.
Topo, please bring back the 2!!

I returned these. I wear a women's size 8. My foot is 10 cm across at the widest part. My feet are 24 cm long. Lems and belenka have fit my feet well. I need a good shoe that's padded with a cushioned sole for high mileage. And fits my toe box. I ordered this shoe for road running because I can't stand foam solestoo soft for mileage. The soles were good. Toe box is only marginally "roomier" than the average shoe. So I returned because it doesn't fit.

Fit not as good as on previously owned Topo shoes. The cushioning on Terraventure 3 was insufficient for trail walking. Had to return the shoes.

While these fit great I may as well be running without sneakers at all - there is zero cushion and are painful. I'd return them if I could

Love the roomy toebox and fits so well around my heel as I have skinny ankles. I have run traIl/fells for 10 years and had lots of different makes but nothing fits me better and does what it says on the tin. I've worn them for short fast races and 50mile ultras. First found them in a small sports shop in Settle -Yorkshire, the guy recommended them. Going to buy a couple more before they change the styles.
