I have almost completely collapsed arches and flexible feet. I have a bunion and a neuroma and arthritis. I have been misdiagnosed, had a botched foot surgery, had a nerve in my foot injected, broken toes, you get the picture. I have not walked more than a half a mile in ten years. I must have tried on fifty plus pairs of shoes, with and without inserts but could never wear anything but a birkenstock sandal. That's cold in the winter in the northeast. Today I thought I 'd try one more time and went to a local running store, requesting a broad based shoe with a wide toebox, firm but flexible support. This is what he suggested. I'd love to be able to wear them without an insert but for right now, I have to wear a foam insert to assist my arch area. I'm actually wearing them now and I love them!! No one has any idea how happy I feel right now! Thank you, Topo, for this excellent shoe.
I will buy more colors when they are available. I hope this review helps some other person who struggles as I did, for over ten years, to find a shoe that works for me.

I have heaps of feet and orthopedic problems. I am writing this review in hopes I can help others with similar problems. If you are athletic and looking for running shoes please skip this review, are just buy topos because they are fabulous.
I first ordered a pair of Topos off of Amazon. One shoe felt great the other felt too short in the toe so I sent them back. I ordered another pair in a 7 1/2 which is my size and they fit perfectly. I have bone spurs in both of my heels, and severe Hallux rigidus in both big toes, also I have some kind of neuropathy going on in my feet. My right toe in particular needs a fusion but I refuse to have any more orthopedic surgeries. I do have a total knee replacement and a total hip replacement and severe arthritis in my neck and spine. The reason I'm mentioning the joint replacements, and arthritis is because these problems factor in on finding the perfect shoe that agrees with all my damaged body parts. I have been wearing MBT, Dansko, Keen and Hoka ( you name it) but with this cold Colorado winter my toes have taken to being really painful. In the last two weeks I've tried everything from Hoka( ?), Saucrony endorphin pro (carbon plates that imitate a toe fusion), Altra, Shoes for Crews (true rocker) Fitflop's, and Topos. All of the aforementioned shoes have worked except for the Saucrony. The Topos have been amazing. They are incredible and pretty much check every box that I need to make my feet and body feel good. So much thought has apparently got into these shoes. I love the videos that are presented with each shoe from the CEO. He and his employee pretty much detail everything about the shoe. I am so impressed with the comfort, fit, price, color, correct size, etc. I highly recommend the shoes to anybody especially somebody with physical problems like myself.
I'd also recommend:
Shoes for Crews, Altra, MBT.

I love the toe width. It could use a little narrower heel. I probably sent back 50 pairs of sneakers till I found Topo sneakers. My feet hurt. All sneakers have narrow toes no matter what they say. Finally a company that didn't lie. And, you need sandals that accommodate orthotics, like fisherman sandals. Most sandals are not orthotic friendly.

Power walk 2 to 3 miles a day on gravel roads and pastures. Have high arches, narrow heals and wide ball of foot. For reference I wear a 36R Birkenstock for over 20 years. I kept the size 7. In a Brooks, Asics or Saucony I wear a 7.5W. The toe box is awesome allowing me to spread my toes as I walk, no sloppiness. Wonderful!!

I have always bought topos for running but bought this pair specifically for more support walking because I'm pregnant and that's peak exercise for me now. These have worked great, I feel comfortable and supported and can get my walks in. I also have toes that take up more room and the toe area in these provides it.

I am a new convert to Topo. My thanks to Steve at Sneakerama in Worcester MA for recommending them. Over many years I won't even bore you with how many types, styles and brands of shoes I have gone through trying to find "the shoe". I could fund a small army with the money I have spent on shoes that ultimately didn't work, fit or last.
I am 71 and not a runner, but that doesn't put me out of the market of needing a good, comfortable, solid shoe. In the past 3 years I have had one hip and both knees replaced. I have basically been learning to walk normally again. With all the other discomforts of rehab I opted again to just find something for my feet that felt good. In doing so I irritated a number of foot problems. I researched, read and investigated shoes. Hoka One One was highly recommended. They were not for me. My podiatrist said they were too "high" and caused toe soreness. Finally Steve told me about Topo. "Just try them......really.....just try them." I went home with a pair of Phantoms. There was no break in period. I knew that day I had found "the shoe". The drop and the roomy toe box were perfect. Never a pinch, a sore spot, a blister, a rub......nothing. I am hard on shoes and usually have a toe burst in a few months. Not so with my Phantoms. They are over 6 months old and only beginning to show a burst.
I recently purchased my 2nd pair of Topos.....Terraventure 3. Something a little heavier and tougher tread for winter weather. Again, I am so impressed by the quality. My orthopedic surgeon told me to look for a shoe that has a substantial base, that doesn't flex easily at the toes and provides protection for an arthritic big toe. Your shoes fit that bill perfectly- solid, moderate flexibility, high quality materials, lightweight.
Thank you for this quality shoe. Although I still feel the need to actually try on a shoe before buying, I've signed up on your site to keep an eye on news and new shoes. Maybe one day I'll feel confident in purchasing online. Regardless, I appreciate the products from which you have given me to choose.
Keep doing what you're doing!

I love the roomy toe box that's shaped like a real foot. The cushioning and support are perfect for this neutral runner who needs a little support once in awhile. This is my first pair of Topos but it won't be my last!

I have very flat feet and need a wide base in the arch area so that I am not running on the hard wall of the sole. I love my Mtn Racer and Ultraventure 2, but the Phantom 2 is much narrower in the midfoot and my arch falls over the inside of the shoe. I was very much looking forward to trying Topo's road running shoes, but this one is not going to be it. I'd be happy to hear if any of the other styles are more generous to flat-footed folks.

I've been suffering from plantars fasciitis for a few weeks which further has caused lower back pain. My boyfriend came home with the Phantom 2's for me and it was immediate relief. The strain on my lower back - gone. My feet didn't hurt to walk or stand. And I have so much room in my toe box that my feet didn't cramp. Amazing!! I'll never wear my old shoes again!!

Finally. It's like Hoka and Altra had a love child. This is my first pair of Topos and they were comfy out of the box, cushioned but not squishy. I really like the longish tongue and stretchy laces. I often get heel slippage, and these cradled my heels and midfoot perfectly. The toe box is perfection! My only complaint are the color choices. I instantly regretted getting the white, but the only other choices were bright orange or dark. Please make these in a topaz blue and I'll buy another pair. Excellent everyday trainer as I try to ease back into mileage after a break.

I have a very difficult time finding shoes that are comfortable and that I can wear more than just a few hours before changing to a different shoe. This is my 3rd pair of Togo's and, while I really like the other two, I can't wear them all day. Not so with this pair!! The sole has more cushion than the other two and the fit is very comfortable. Take it from someone with foot problems....this is a really good shoe!

Love these shoes! I have bunions and narrow heels and these fit perfectly. My bunions don’t hurt - even when walking long distances. Highly recommend!

I had the first model of these and didn't really like them because they felt clunky and bulky but decided to take a chance on this model again because I wanted a more cushioned shoe for long or recovery runs and am so glad I did! They fit my foot perfectly including the arch and roomy toe box and the extra cushion is perfect! I wear the ultrafly 3 for my daily road runs but they just don't have enough cushion for longer miles. Topo, please do not change your toe boxes in yourshoes like so many other companies do in an effort to "streamline and improve" them! Most of us buy them BECAUSE of the roomy toe box and fit.

I stand most of the day at work and am trying to find a shoe that will be comfortable all day. The roomy toe box is great, but by the end of the day the heel area feels really tight and uncomfortable.

My daily shoe. I'm an pretty active, 71 yr old grandmother.
I'm on my third pair, a new pair waiting in the closet at this moment in case they quit making this style!!
I usually wear a size 9 wide, but have been wearing a 10 in this shoe and it's perfect.

Topo's wide shoebox is a perfect fit for my "duck feet":) The sole has the right amount of support and stiffness, while the cushioning adds bounce to my step. And they look good too.
I'd also recommend:

I've had surgery on my left foot and needed shoes with a wide toe box with cushioning under the forefoot. These are perfect, with enough room for my toes and perfect cushioning. I use them for walking and my feet are happy again. They run small, so size up. I wear an 8 1/2 and I bought the 9 1/2.

I absolutely love my Phantom! I just ordered Phantom 2. These are definitely better than any other brand I've worn. The wide toe box and cushion is so comfortable!

I love the eide toebox, it is simply amazing! But unfortunately the overall fit was not perfect for my wide feet. The midfoot fit is quite narrow actually and a big part of my foot was hanging outside the sole. I got blisters inside my arch and heel. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this shoe. Every other aspect felt good. I went back to Altra as it is clearly wider in the midfoot. I recommend the shoe to people who does not have wide feet. It is probably good for people with narrow/normal feet who want a roomy toebox.

I've had these for two months and the bottom tread is already wearing down and there are worn spots developing in the heels. They look like I've had them for a year. I wear them to walk 10-13 miles per week on a cement walking path. They are super comfy and my bunions don't hurt as much, but I would expect a shoe at this price point to last longer than 2 months!

I use these shoes for walking and jogging. I also have used them on trails for hikes. I love the wide toebox and the roomy instep. These are the first shoes I have had in a long time that provide comfort, support, and stability. Plus, they are super cute!

I have plantar faciitis. I was placed in a TOPO and through several different styles, I am fine tuned to a Phantom 3. I have gotten all my shoes through FOOTRX, they are so knowledgeable. I had an orthodic made and this, with the shoe, has corrected my foot.
I love this product, but would like to have it offered in bright colors
