The insoles are well cushioned and comfortable. Design of shoes could be better-it looks like old people shoes and this is coming from the pov of a woman in her twenties. Laces are cheap quality and doesn't help justify the high price of these shoes.

I was looking for a comfortable, stylish walking shoe in black. This shoe reminded me of a great pair of ECCO walking shoe I have in brown. They are a very nice looking shoe but unfortunately, it felt too tight across the top in front and in the heel area. I have a normal foot width and ordered it in the medium width but it was too tight of a fit for my foot.

These would have been decent shoes if the toe box were wider and the look less athletic. I was seeking a shoe that would allow me to walk all day comfortably and still be able to dine at a nice restaurant (while wearing a pair of dark slacks) in dressy Europe. However, these still don't look "classy" enough and that the toe box is too pointed. NB shoes are known for their wider toe box but these are an exception. The best part of these shoes are the memory foam-like lining. They relieve my metatarsal pain, though there is modest arch support. I hope shoe designers of Aravon read this review and incorporate my suggestions in the upcoming designs.

This shoe is designed to provide comfort and yet to look somewhat dressy. However, there are just too many problems with this shoe. First, it's 1/2 to 1 full size smaller than marked. It's also very narrow. Second, the material is supposed to be leather, but it feels and smells like plastic. Third, the collar is way too low and my heels constantly slip out of the shoe. The slippage is worse if you add your orthotics or arch support insert to the shoe. Fourth, despite being called a comfort shoe, the toe box is still too pointed and there is no arch support. So, these are many the major shortcomings -- what are the good things about this shoe? It's light and can still be somewhat disguised as a dress shoe (if you wear long pants). The shoe insole is quite soft and good for feet with metatarsal pain. Again, however, there is not much arch support.

This shoe is comfortable from the git go except that the heel is way too wide. I had a blister forming after wearing them for an hour.

I was disappointed in the way this shoe fit. The heel was too loose, and the style was not as attractive as a similar Grasshopper shoe I purchased last year for much less (unfortunately no longer available). I bought a wide for bunions, but I don't have large feet overall, and most of the wide shoes no longer have narrow heels.

Decent pair of shoes. Nice leather outer and style is streamlined, but after a month, I can tell that the the inside support is wearing out already.

I ordered these because of the narrow width option and because I needed a black leather shoe that wasn't a sneaker. Some reviewers said they helped with back pain. I also sized up 1/2 size based on reviews, which was accurate. Although they felt moderately comfortable while briefly wearing around home, this style is very manly, stiff, and makes my feet look like boats. The quality is good and although some reviews described them as "cute", that's not a word I would use to describe them. I'm not sure any amount of comfort could make me keep them. If you like the manly look, you may like these. I'll return and keep looking.

I bought these shoes several years ago and love them. They were comfortable yet supportive for my narrow foot. I actually wore down the heel from wearing them so often so I decided to order a new pair. I was shocked when I opened the package. I thought they sent me the wrong model of shoe. It looks nothing like my previous pair except that they were both black. They are made of a hard leather, not narrow even though that is what I ordered. They look like steel toed construction boots. Very disappointed.

I had several pairs of these in the past when Aravon was a owned by New Balance. I am a 9 or 40 usually. The nubucks which are no longer made apparently fit perfectly. But the black leather fit well enough too. This pair purchased in 2019 is definitely too small by about a half size. I wish the black Nubuck were still being made and true to size like the old ones. It was a great shoe for my foot which is a medium with a narrower heel. I see that other people on various sites have said the same thing.

There is very little vertical room in the toe box and the shoe runs at least a half size small compared to Brooks or Asics. Had I known this line is made by New Balance, I would have expected this and not order the shoes. Moreover, the laces are very thick and ugly.

I ordered these because I need a good pair of walking shoes that fit my custom orthotics. I thought they'd be great because they're made by New Balance, which is what I always wear with my orthotics. You would think my orthotics would also fit in these, but it was NOT EVEN CLOSE. Plus, honestly, they're just very unattractive. Guess I'll stick with my NB trainers.

I have a hard time finding shoes that work right with my feet. Finally got rid of the plantar fasciitis, but have to be so careful not to bring it back. So, after trying on many different shoes, looking for a black sneaker/walking shoe for an upcoming trip, I came across these. Initially, I thought they were ideal, even though they are a bit granny-ish, with those holes on the side. However, I have worn them now, and after the longest day discovered my foot had started to hurt again! NOOO! Since I have worn them outside, I cannot return them, but what a waste of $$. And what is up with those laces? Too short and too slippery to stay tied!

I usually wear an 8-1/2. This shoe was so short I thought it was mis-sized. It looks okay for an oxford and is a reasonably light shoe, but...obviously am sending them back.

The tongue was too long and hit front of my ankle. It hurt every time I took a step. Had to send them back.

This Aravon shoe is made in China, not US as in the past. The sizing is completely different from the US made brand. The China shoe is too narrow, the box is too small, the lenght is too short compared to the same size of the US made shoe. I would consider this a China rip off of questionable quality. I believe Aravon was bought out by Rockport and is not made by New Balance anymore. I am sending this back and going to a store to find my correct size.

I ordered this in a wide, and I could barely get it on my foot. Also has strange laces, they are difficult to pull through the holes. Gave it one star because zero was not a choice.

I am supposed to wear custom orthotics, so I bought these for work because of the removable insole (and I love New Balance sneaks). Huge disappointment. They're really unattractive in person, and a hard seam along the heel cup rubbed the inside of my heel raw, forming a 2" blister. I tried sticking a gel heel pad on but it wouldn't stick well in the fabric-y lining...which, by the way, makes my feet hot, sweaty and gross. I kept trying to wear these but am giving up.
