Okay, I'm in love with Xero Prio shoes. They are excellent for walking around or working out. I specifically bought them for CrossFit, however, I now use them for everything. Prio does run true-to-size, which makes ordering easy. So, you may ask how these shoes without arch support are good for you? Well, I will tell you. It is not as simple as "no arch support." The shoe is completely flat with a FLEXIBLE sole and WIDE toebox. These are two key items (at least for me) that make the most difference. If you can feel the ground, then your feet can automatically adjust balance and muscle tension (similar to how one doesn't think about breathing). If the sole is "flat," but with a thick bottom, then there is no feedback. Secondly, the toes need the option to spread and grip. Again, a flat shoe with a small toe box does you no favors. For my CrossFit buddies, nothing beats minimalist shoes for barbell work where feeling balance and rooting through the feet is imperative to a good lift.

Love these shoes so much. I am an avid walker and wanted a zero-drop minimalist "sneaker" to wear on my daily treks around the neighborhood. I could not adore these more. They are comfy, with a nice roomy toe box and soooo cute. I got the purple ones and my oh my are they good lookin'!!!

I loved the idea of a “bare foot” simulating shoe. My fiancé and I watched the company’s video which claims wearing these would help strengthen your arches because they provide no arch support or their own and your foot has to build up its arches (I’m paraphrasing.)
I love being barefoot, but am extremely flat footed- so I though “wow, that sounds great!”
So… loved the shoes at first, but wearing them while being on my feet for long periods of time has been NOT ok. I work in the film industry where I am on my feet for 10 hours a day and by half-way through day 5 the bones in my feet we’re KILLING me. Maybe it would be more ideal if I’d worn these in gradually increasing intervals?
Then the day after I got home and stopped wearing them one of my ankles suddenly gave out while just standing talking to someone. It was so painful I had to use a crutch for the rest of the day. I’ve been limping for 3 days now.
Bottom line: 1. I’m buying new, comfortable, arch supporting shoes.
2. I wouldn’t recommend these for people with very flat feet.
3. I wouldn’t recommend these for anyone who is on their feet for long intervals (my fiancé works with me, has the same shoes, and also had very sore heels after 5 days, although not the foot pain.)
4. Pros: they’re lightweight, nice to wear in lieu of bare feet (at shorter intervals) when bare feet isn’t practical or an option.

I bought my Xero shoes from the Xero website, before Zappos carried them. I will buy my next pair from Zappos for the expedited shipping. These are not the most stylish sneakers in the world. However, I find they are my go-to sneakers for everyday wear and especially for long walks. I can no longer tolerate shoes with huge soles -- I feel unsteady on them. I feel much more confident in the low profile Xeros. I do recommend that you give these a try.

I got these for my wife. She absolutely loves them. She has very wide feet, as in double-wide shoe sizes, and this fits her a half size up from her "true" size. She raves about how comfortable these are.

They fit very well! I have Mortons Neuromas and need a wide toe box, and my feet are very comfortable in them. I wish they didn't have the stripes on them. It would be nicer if they were just a solid color, but as for comfort for my Mortons Neuroma problem, they can't be beat.

I have started to experience heel pain from being on my feet for hours at work. I have flat feet and also suffer from shoes that cause rubbing on my outer sides ( there are big bumps on either foot..not sure if they're bunions or what) and no shoe has been pain free until now. A coworker told me her PT recommended Xero shoes for foot health..her and I both own Hoka Bondi 7s. And it was actually under her recommendation that I found the Hokas and purchased them a month ago. She told me that her PT told her that the foot pain will never truly heal with the Hokas because her foot will never be strengthened the way they would in a barefoot shoe. He recommended Xeros. This info blew my mind since it was so contrary to what I've known, but it also made sense to me. Since I still somewhat suffer from shoes that don't accommodate my wide feet (had to order the Hokas in wide and still have some pain) I was up for trying them. A barefoot shoe is naturally shaped to a foot right out of the gate...no special sizing required. They just arrived today, so I have no idea how they'll perform for the long haul but immediately my foot fit in them. And they were comfortable. Also, because I can make a clear connection with my foot fall and the ground through the thin sole, I could immediately feel how "wrong" I was walking. On my right, and most problematic foot, I was walking on the outer side of my foot. The inside of my foot was barely even making contact with the ground. Now that I know this, I can work on correcting it. I'm easing into it so I don't have pain...my current work shoes have one of the biggest soles I've seen.

Bought on Zappos. Fit is 1/2 size smaller than what I normally wear (My 7.5 translates to a 7).
Oddly enough (because I am someone who wears orthotics in my shoe) these felt rather nice.
Surprisingly so.
What a nice surprise considering I had just rejected a good 2 dozen via mail shoes from companies that are outstanding and I had previously worn for higher level of stability and support.
Back they all went. It was rather a joke, return labels being printed right and left. Then, I took a chance thinking outside of the box, because a prior pair of Salomon felt rather minimalist/feel the ground to that style, which Salomon had since discontinued.
This put back that steady feel the ground to a shoe and felt amazing right off the bat. Took it to the street, and realized needed a touch of cushioning (via heel cushions) which lay nicely under the insole that came with the shoe.
Yup... ya use an orthotic and this can adapt. With that realization in mind, I turned that thinking up a notch to accommodate my low arches and need to lift the heel with a thin insole in place of the one that came with it. Dr. Scholl’s Plantar Fasciitis (this worked) or Superfeet carbon (this is yet to arrive) are potential candidates for this. I am used to that dance, for I've been doing it for years, and am a bit of an expert at adapting shoes to match my needs.
I am fit, 63, but the docs cannot believe my age... All because I keep my tail moving, hiking etc. alongside of nutrition. What you put in, you definitely get in. It's like a health investment that pays dividends for years to come.
So if you are wondering if you can make that transition to a different type of shoe that is minimalist, the Prios is that entry door. In fact I will probably go back to the insoles that came with these shoes when not on pavement, when hiking on dirt trails for it really felt nice and didn't feel like it needed that extra support under those (dirt ground, vs pavement/sidewalk) conditions. There is some sort of shaping support to the natural sole of this shoe, that doesn't quite leave you flat bottomed. I have inspected it and have come to that conclusion.
So nice to loose all that bulk, for it was really feeling heavy and a touch awkward compared to a more minimal shoe.
As a result, I have now ordered two other Xero shoes (one hiking boot and one trail shoe) in three sizes each to figure out what is the best fit in those. I will update that here if anyone hits a like on the review. I will simply take that as a 'people are waiting to see what my take is on those' signal.
The only thing that would indeed be better and give a 5 star from me is if Xero sold an orthotic for their shoes for the older or foot compromised population, so I didn't have to order that in a hunt and peck fashion, to find one that works. But yeah this is a minimalist shoe and I get that. I am just grateful minimalist to Xero does not define as no support.

I am just starting a transition to minimalist shoes, and the Xero Prio are my first pair. My toes have never been so happy. And I love that my calf muscles get a workout when I wear these shoes.

I usually buy a specialty sneaker for working out, since I also wear Correct Toes spacers and toe socks, for balance. I have weird toes, what can I say? I usually buy Altras, but I wear the treads out fast, like six months, so I decided to try these out. I am impressed. Hopefully, it will last longer. They are really lightweight and super comfortable. They do feel different and in a good way. Most likely I will buy another pair. Wearing spacers you have to go a half size up, but I have noticed the same size Altras fit me perfectly.

I liked that my toes were able to move inside the shoe. I liked the feel of walking without a heel or those awful huge soles! But I wish the insole was a little thicker and more comfortable.

I love these shoes. I have struggled with foot issues for years - plantar fasciitis, a bunion, sore feet. My podiatrist suggested I look at these issues as biometric ones -- how my foot lands, how it moves, how it balances. These shoes address all those issues. I can feel the ground, use my toes more, use my foot muscles more. I wore them half a day for a few days, as I've never used zero or near-zero shoes before, but quickly they became my wear-all-the-time shoe. The wide toebox is wonderful. And, the shoes look great! I am more confident with my feet than I was in traditional thick-soled sneakers. I really love these shoes.

This is my first pair of barefoot shoes. Didn’t really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. They are really comfortable and I like the way they look. They’re so pretty. I’m now on my 5th pair. They not only look good but they have helped my balance so much. I’m so glad I got them.

These are zero drop shoes so there is not supposed to be an arch support. It takes a day or two to get used to the difference, but I absolutely love them. I've always felt better in flat shoes and these are finally just right. The width gives your feet room to naturally spread. I didn't realize that I was having trouble with my feet, constantly switching shoes, because of all the different footbeds and cushioning. I've finally found the right shoe.

No support because it's a barefoot style shoe. I decided to try these because I've had recurring knee pain. The Bioneer's video about rehabilitating weak or injured knees by strengthening the ankles and letting the toes splay (what happens when you walk barefoot) got me interested in them. I guess I'm a convert now, because these are super comfortable and my knee pain is lessening. I've purchased other styles on zappos for both me and my partner. This is a solid barefoot/minimalist shoe for everyday, as well as the gym. I'm anywhere from 7.5-8 (and rarely 8.5) depending on the brand, wide...these are perfect, true to size. I've heard Xero recently updated sizing though, so other styles might be sized differently. For example the Kelso fit perfectly in 8 with the insert, but the Z sandals run big for me - I use size 7 in those because it feels less floppy.

Great shoes, well made and stylish! These fit true to size and are so comfy. These are great walking shoes which I plan to take hiking as well. I’m looking forward to getting a lot of use out of them. I’m happy to have found a pair of vegan shoes that allow my feet to breathe and move like feet are meant to!

I am very satisfied with all of my Xero shoes, and the Prio is no exception! Plenty of room for my feet to spread and feel, and comfortable in all terrains. This is not my first pair, nor will it be my last!

I have been running in a Merrill trail glove shoe for several years which I was reasonably satisfied with but I decided to try these Prio shoes and I have been really pleasantly pleased with them. The toe area is wider so the fot is great out of the box. In my previous shoes, my pinkie toes busted through the sides. Also they seem well made and without the inserts I get really nice contact with the ground but I can throw the inserts in for hiking. I will absolutely buy these again.

The shoes were hard to get on at first, they had to be unlaced some and wide open to get on...but, they feel goo on with good toe room. Comfortable to walk in. My color was blue but I had wanted the lavender. No real girly looking but alright. I am a senior lady and I was looking for that barefoot feeling since I have neuropathy and need total comfort.

I bought this shoe because the desert sand was getting so hot, I was getting blisters between my toes running in Five Fingers, and I needed a temporary summer solution while still wearing a minimalist shoe. The Prio toe box was a perfect fit, lots of room for natural, free toe function. Nothing else worked, however. The heel was too wide, and the lacing system that supposedly allowed one to adjust the heel fit was stiff, unwieldy, and ineffective, creating pressure on top of my foot (and I do not have a high arch). I felt the upper of the shoe with every step. The sole was like a plastic pancake with a couple of hinges. I didn’t experience anything like the barefoot sensation of Five Fingers. I didn’t want arch support, but this shoe felt like the worst of both worlds—no cushioning and yet no contact with anything but the shoe, either. Like a very uncomfortable bedroom slipper. Returned.

The shoe fell apart after a month and half of use - it is now held together with tape (see image, taken October 21st, received the shoes August 30th). It appears to be a design flaw. Not worth the money.
