I have a Morton's neuroma and been looking for foot shaped winter boots. Was very excited when I found these. Ordered a half size larger, as recommended, but they're still too small! I'm a size 8-8.5 in shoes, and ordered 9 in these boots. My big toes are pushing into the front of the shoe. So have to return and unfortunately another half a size bigger is not available. I don't understand why Zero sizing is a whole size off!

These are great little boots. Adorable looking and well made. Needed a pair of warm/waterproof boots for winter walking with my dogs. I walk on gravel and minimally plowed country roads. I have been wearing zero drop shoes to exercise for years due to my flat feet. Regular hiking boots were killing my feet on 4 mile hikes in the snow. I was so happy to find these. I will be adding my custom thin orthotic and the zero drop will keep my feet from aching. They run incredibly small. I wear a 6.5 shoe and 7 in athletic shoes. I read the reviews and thought ordering just a half size up to 7 would do the trick. They just fit. If I were to wear a thick sock they would be too small. When I hike I use compression knee high socks and these boots seem warm enough to not need a sock over the compression socks-I would not likely ever wear a sock over compression anyway so the fit works for me. If your a person who loves thick socks go a full size up. They are warm enough to not need extra socks but this is coming from a MN girl and my definition of cold may drastically differ from most peoples. Size up for thick socks. Hopefully with the addition of my orthotic they still fit. If not I will exchange for a full size up.

This shoes are incredibly comfortable I just took them on a muddy, rainy, 8 mile hike that had lots of steep up and downhill moments - and they remained as comfy feeling as my previous shorter walks around the city, neighborhood, house. Super warm and truly waterproof as well. They aren't the height of fashion, but they are certainly enough of an interesting design that people have stopped me to ask about them. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of these shoes.

Excellent! So happy to have a zero drop winter boot with room in the toebox. Warm and comfortable. My susal size in most shoes is 7.5-8 but I was most comfortable in an 8.5 in these.

These boots are feminine looking. The moccasin style is playful. The toe box was not as high as I would have liked. They can be easily worn with thick socks.

These boots are for people who are interested in the 'barefoot movement'. They are designed wider in the toe box to give your toes room to do what they are designed to do. There is NO arch support because they are meant to strengthen your arch. I have a high arch but my I have worked to strengthen it. I wear them for my job at a school. I regularly walk 21,000 steps per day in them. They are perfect for what they are designed for! They keep my feet warm, even in -8 weather and snow. I can still feel the rocks and things I am walking on even though they have excellent tread. I have had several comments on how cute they are. I love them because they do not look wide in the toe but they give my feet plenty of room. I am thinking of getting a second pair in a different color.

I’m happy with these in size 8 even though my usual is 6.5, 7 or 7.5 historically. I have two pair of Xero Prios in size 7 that I wear regularly, and a size 6.5 and 7 in Merrell Trail Gloves that also fit fine. So I don’t know why Cero advises to order your usual size. (I should add that a 7.5 might work for me in this boot, if it weren’t for the fact that my left foot is longer than my right.) I am using a midweight cushioned Darn Tough sock with these. The boots feel comfortable and seem to be warm, and my feet tend to be very cold at almost all times.

The first pair I ordered was my regular athletic shoe size, and my toes touched the end before I even stood in them. Ordered a full size larger and they are just right with room for thick socks. I am used to wearing Altra shoes, so these are the perfect winter boot for me. Can't say yet if they are warm enough in really cold weather.

The Alpine's footbed matches my footshape ! That never happens. They're really comfy. If you have a wide or slightly wide foot, try these boots. The midfoot and heel of the upper are both wider than expected, but the lacing system is great, so its not a problem. Looks a little blocky, though. I'm sending them back because they remind me of boxing shoes. They're cute in their own way, but in real life, I all I can see is boxing shoes when I look at them.

I initially ordered size 7.5 but exchanged them for a size 8. Perfect fit with woolly socks! Plenty of wiggle room for my toes. I tried 2 pairs of Columbia shoes but they were way too narrow compare to these. I went camping with temps in the 30s and wasn't cold at all with the Alpine. Super comfortable to walk, to put on and off. I wanted a waterproof, warm and light pair of shoes and found them! Would totally recommend.

My boyfriend bought these for me and told me to leave the review. This is my first pair of barefoot type footwear. I don't know if you noticed, but it's very complicated finding the right size in barefoot shoes (boots) - it's been a bit of a processes.
In US normal (non-barefoot) shoes I wear a women's 8 1/2 or 9 wide, in EU 39 or 40. My foot measures 24.6mm or 9 3/4 in length. My foot is wide at the ball of the foot, but I have a narrow heel. I also have a stubby big toe and the second and third toes are longer than it. And, to top it all off, I have extremely high arches and insteps.
I listened to the general advice of all of the reviews and tried a 9 and a 9 1/2. The 9 1/2 went back without even opening the box after I tried on the 9. Actually, I debated about sending back the 9's for an 8 1/2, but once I took the insole out to see how my foot fit on it I kept them. It's that long 3rd toe of mine that keeps me from the smaller size. I almost forgot ~ inside the boot the label says USA 9, UK 7.5, EUR 39.5.
To say these boots are quite roomy is an understatement. Xero makes a nice wide boot, but it's wide everywhere. I happened to have a lovely pair of sheepskin insoles, and they help a Lot, without out them I wouldn't be able to tie these tight enough to keep my heel from floating around while walking. They are Very warm if you're not out in the weather. My feet got a bit sweaty running errands. They did fine in slush and had decent traction in the snow. I can feel every piece of salt on the ground or anything I step on, which is kinda cool. It's a stable flat surface for your foot. They're a nice first try for me, and a warm boot. Will I buy other xero shoes? Maybe not. They seem to work better for a different foot shape than mine. The wide heel is an issue for me. I have a primal foot shape (similar to a square or plateau but with the second and third longer toes), and these are sloped a hair too much for me to fit in my correct size. Vivo's and BeLenka's are too sloped for me as well, as a reference point. Overall, I'm happy with them.

As I read on the internet, you'll need a full size larger and thats true.
I wear Altra Lone peaks backpacking in the summer, and I needed a waterproof boot for the winter. I was tired of wet feet from my old boots. But in trying on other boots, like La Sportiva, I realized I forgot how stiff they are! Very glad I moved to trail runners a long time ago, but that won't work for winter my friends.
It doesn't feel stiff like other hiking boots I've tried. They are comfortable, so far walking in 15F weather and minimal darn tough wool socks. Definitely a keeper.

These did not work for my foot, which is very tricky to fit, but I love the brand and the company has stellar customer service. If you enjoy minimal shoewear and not being weighed down by heavy boots, but still want to look stylish when snow is on the ground, I recommend these.

great shoes for those liking flat, soleless feel. Run one size smaller. I am 7.5, have to order 8.5. Shoes also are smaller/shorter than look in the picture

Followed advice of other customers and sized up a half size. Felt trippingly large even with winter socks. Love the width & slipper feel comfort but sizing recommendation was off for me.

The main reason I picked this boot over all the others was the fact that it has a wide toe box. I needed a boot that I felt comfortable in all winter long. It doesn't have much arch support (which I need with my pronating feet), but it has room for my orthotics. Thanks Xero for making a good snow boot!

Love these boots …I wear an 8.5 in a keen boot ..but had to size up a full size to make these Xeroboots fit …to my surprise
Also the pull on the back if it were the keen style would be a little more affective as a pull on …go to Keens and see that ..otherwise love my boots very comfy ..maybe Xero shoes will update that pull on …??

I live in a ski town and these boots are plenty warm for snowy hikes. I’m a big fan of minimal shoes so the absence of arch support and the zero drop features are a big plus for me. I love the wide toe box because our toes are meant to spread out, not be scrunched in narrow shoes. I usually wear an 8 but ordered 8.5 based on other reviews and the fit was perfect. Overall a great winter hiking boot.

These shoes look super cute!
I can't speak to their waterproofedness yet, as it's been unusually dry and snowless since I had them.
So, about the barefoot shoe qualities: The sole is much thicker and stiffer than I'm used to from other barefoot brands, but they're winter shoes, so I suppose this is as good as it gets with a really warm shoe - which this is. Also, the insole is soft enough to sink in front and heel, thus ultimately creating a kind of arch support - which I'm not used to either. What really bothers me is the overall width. I was expecting a wide toe box, but here, the whole shoe is shaped like a brick, and even though I have a rather wide foot, there is no hold at the heel at all. And a LOT of material presses on your foot if you try to to tie it tight, which I find uncomfortable on the instep.
If they are in fact snowproof, I'll still love them, because they keep my feet warm and are better for my overall posture and back pain than my usual hiking boots in winter.

These are really warm. Recently I learned that boots with soft soles keep your feet warmer bc you can love your entire foot and toes, which helps circulation. So I bought these to test the theory and they are definitely warm.

my favorite boots except they are NOT 100% waterproof. rain and snow do leak in. then they get cold. but so comfy for dry winter weather and light rain.

I have never owned hiking boots as an adult due to how uncomfortable the "normal" kind are, with the super chunky soles. I've been wearing barefoot shoes since my mid 20s which has all but eliminated foot cramps I used to get constantly. I was so excited to find these winter-appropriate barefoot boots for an upcoming hiking trip in Colorado! They do run very small, I had to go up a full size from my usual. I think they are cute and comfy.
