I love these sandals! From the moment I put them on, I knew I could easily wear them all day. Not only are they comfortable, they are really cute, too, and can be worn equally well with jeans, joggers, skirts, or shorts. Please do know, these are true barefoot style shoes. If you want arch support and cushion, these are not the shoes for you. If, like me, you want a comfortable, stylish, true barefoot shoe, these are a great option.

I got the Z-Trail EV in black from REI rather than ordering online because I wanted to try them on for size first and wanted to get them in time for my Hawaii vacation. I normally wear size 9 in sandals and 9.5 in athletic shoes (my Prios are 9.5). The size 9 Z-Trail fits perfect. I was a little concerned that my heel might hit or rub on the heel cup area, but it has never even come close. I walked several miles a day around Hawaii for a week and a half on pavedpaths, dirt, beach, and rocks after I got them. I brought a few other pairs of sandals with me, including my trusty go-to Merrells, but I quickly found that I prefer the feel of the Z-Trail. The best way to explain it is they just feel more natural. I don't really feel like I have bare feet, but they just feel good, are super light, and my feet can definitely flex a lot more than in regular types of sandals and shoes. The soles, although thin, actually provide a lot of protection. I can feel bumps and rocks but not to the point where it hurts, just enough to recognize that they are there. The footbed has a lot of grip for my feet as does the outer sole on the ground. It takes some experimentation to get the strap adjustments just right. After all the Hawaii walking, where they felt comfy but a bit loose, I experimented with tightening them and then took a 2.5 mile walk in the heat on a flat sidewalk and ended up getting a blister on the ball of my foot. So perhaps on the looser side was better for me. They are also not so quick to put on, as I have to unfasten the velcro around the heel every time to get my foot in. These two points are not bad things, but should be known. Last, I really like the simple, minimal look. I'm sure these will now be my go-to summer sandals. I'm bringing the Z-Trails on a hiking trip next week, can't wait to see how that goes.

I have a wide foot and ordered size 8 women's. They fit perfectly, the sole material is very comfy, straps and flexible and don't dig, easily adjustable. Haven't tried them on a trail yet but they were exactly what I was looking for, a barefoot sandal that would be secure on my foot with some traction. If you need support for your feet do not order this sandal! If you're looking for the barefoot feel these are great!

These were cute and comfortable, but my foot wouldn't stay in place. My toes wanted to migrate forward and my heels wanted to migrate inward. Had to return.

I was going to return them when I received them because I failed to see the 70$ value, but they were comfortable and had tread so I figured I would give them a shot. I have put about 200 miles on them and have learned they are fine for easy hiking, but moderate to technical trails they are risky. They dont stay fitted to your feet. As soon as they get wet they get slimy and the toe strap stretches. Going up and down hills the only thing keeping them on my feet was the ankle/heel strap. I will say I never got a single blister and the tread is nice for a minimal sandal. But all and all I was super bummed and wouldnt buy another pair.

Right out of the box I love this sandal. As others have said, don’t get this if you specifically want cushion or arch support. They are feel comfortable with my first try on. They’re clearly meant to stay on your foot once adjusted to your liking. I don’t like the look of the little strap holder in the left of the shoe, but no biggie I guess. They have good grip on the sole and the straps don’t feel rough. I like the color, wish I could find them in a solid coral/salmon color with a dark sole. Purple is fun but doesn’t go with everything. These are a nice minimalist sandal. Not sure if they’re $80 nice, but I think I’ll keep them anyways. I usually wear a 10 in hiking boots and sneakers, but got these in a 9, and they fit how I like them to.

Due to sandal's lack of any real cushioning for my feet I need to return.

I already had the XERO Prio and wanted to try out the sandal. It did not disappoint. They are very comfortable and great to walk. I usually take of my shoes as soon as I come in the house but not these.

My go to summer shoe

Love these sandals. Ordering a second pair just because my puppy damaged the little buckle slide, but I have worn them hard for a year now and even though they are thin, they are super tough.

I love these! They are so great working around the yard and in the garden, almost like being barefoot, but with a little protection :)I haven’t worn anything else since they arrived! Straps are comfy and adjustable, they can get wet, great tread without the bulk. Perfect for this usually barefoot person who now has somewhat cleaner feet after a day in the garden!

I believe I had to get a different size, but do not remember what the issue was, exactly. They do fit true to size and are super comfortable. The straps adjust, so that helps a lot. My husband and I get complimented all the time. My sister in law liked them so much we got her a pair too.

Xero Z-Trail EV barefoot sandals are light weight, stylish, flexible and very comfortable. I would recommend them.

They fit great. So comfortable. I prefer zero-drop, minimal shoe design, and this is my favorite pair of summer sandals now. The grip is great, and I've worn them successfully on trails and rocks. To be clear, I'm not a big hiker or climber, just a trail and beach walker.

I had been looking for a barefoot sandal and ultimately decided to go with this pair. I originally ordered my usual size of an 8, as that what the fit suggested, but I decided to exchange for a size 9. Light weight, flexible and comfortable. Would recommend.

Cute sandal option for barefoot shoes! I wear anywhere from 7.5 - 8 (rarely 8.5) depending on the brand/shoe. Got size 7 in these and they fit perfectly. The straps are adjustable, perfect for a snug fit. In prio the 8 fit perfectly for me.

Really like these Xero Z-Trail EV sandals. I have worn other barefoot-style shoes in the past and was happy to find a barefoot sandal that was "sport stylish" yet comfortable. I use these for everyday wear and also for work, where I am on my feet for 5+ hours at a stretch; I find that I have minimal foot or lower back pain even after hours of walking on hard floors. They are so light that I almost forget that I am wearing shoes at all.

Love this sandal and other Xero shoes! The magenta color is fun for spring and summer. Very bright ? and the sandal is comfortable. Makes my feet feel free and happy.

These sandals feel so good to walk in. These are great for people looking for a zero drop sole and a barefoot feel while protecting the bottom of one’s feet. I live in an area where I can’t walk barefoot because of people not picking up their dog poop so I have to wear something and these fit the bill.

I was shocked that my feet didn’t kill me from walking on no soles and from the straps rubbing on my toes. I’m so happy that I took a chance on these! Not only are they cute, but they actually seem to be good for my feet!

Perfect sandals for all summer, running errands and also going out by the lake/river or on a boat. Exactly what wanted.

These are my favorite sandals ever. I've had Chacos (too heavy and ridged, even the lighter ones), Vibram Five Fingers, tried on Tevas, and owned Keens. Love these XERO shoes. Been following xero shoes from the beginning. Made my own hurachas, kept waiting and waiting to buy a more "sophisticated" xero shoe. Wish I hadn't waited so long. The color of the desert rose looks a little more brownish tan online, but love the actual color - a very light dusty rose. Ordered size 10 - true to size. Practically perfect in every way :)
