I really wanted to like these sandals but after ordering them two different times I gave up. The first order I sized up half a size and they were too large - definitely a gamble on my part and I was happy to re-order in my true size. When the second pair came in, the right shoe was noticeably smaller than the left shoe. I understand these shoes are handmade and can vary, but it really felt like I was wearing two different size shoes. Customer support mentioned that my feet could be different sizes, but I don't have issues with any other pairs of shoes I have ever owned. After all the back and forth I'll sadly have to give up on these.

I wish I could say these were out of the box comfy like some of these reviews, but they have to be some of the worst pairs of shoes Ive ever broken in. They are true to size, I wear a 7.5 (usually a size 7-7.5) and the first time I wore them out they felt fine, but after a half hour of walking in them I had blisters. Super disappointing because I had a pair of this style shoes from a second hand shop and they were the most comfy things. These however are so tight I have to wear bandaids on my heels and on the inside and I still struggle to walk in them. Ive only been able to wear them twice. I live in NYC so I walk a LOT and clearly these are not meant for that at least in the breaking in phase. Im massively let down because they are super cute. If you can stand the breaking in period or do not live in a walking city, give them a go.

I recognize these huaraches would eventually soften up, but I don't buy anything these days that is not comfy from the get-go.

They are very attractive, but I prefer a softer leather. The sole is stiff.

The website says they're true to size but they fit more like a 5 1/2 instead of a 6 1/2. It took a week and a half to receive them and i bought them for a trip I had planned. I received them on time but they were way too small! I wore them hoping they would stretch because they're leather

I want to love these, but Nisolo isn't making it easy! This is the second pair of Nisolo huaraches I've purchased and I'm so bummed. The first edition they made stretched out so bad after only 5 wears, they were falling off my feet so I couldn't wear them anymore. I let them know how disappointed I was and they said a lot of people had had that issue and that they were sorry. Then they came out with this "new and improved" version. They are definitely improved! I reached out to the salesperson about sizing - I'm between a 7.5 and 8 - she recommended I get 7.5. Size wise they run small and this second version does NOT stretch even a little bit. The colors are amazing and rich, the leather is tough and not stretchy - everything I wanted them to be...until I walked in them. After only an hour or so I started to feel the rubbing, but the time I took them off, after a total of about 5 hours, I had cuts and blisters on my ankles, toes and even one of top of my foot (this is a first!) They beat my feet up so bad I'm scared to put them on again. The shoes are amazing to look at, they're beautiful. The handwritten note in the box is always a nice touch, but customer service's attitude the first time around of "Sorry we know we made a really poor shoe, but no, there's nothing we can do for you. We'll do better next time and charge more" really stinks. I will eventually try the shoes on again, but I have to wait for my feet to forgive me first. If they are any better the second time around I'll update my review!

Nice shoe -- wish they fit. I am a pretty firm size 6 in shoes. I couldn't get my feet into the huaraches in a size 6, and the 6.5 was not much better. I realize they're supposed to stretch, but the front half of the shoe was impossibly small. I ordered a 7, (third time's a charm?) but I'm afraid the back will be too wide. Not a fan of the multi-step return process. A pre-paid label in the box would help.

These are beautifully made and I wanted to love them, but I tried 2 sizes and they were just too tight & small! I'm a 37 in euro sizes so I went with the 6.5 per the Nisolo sizing guide. They were uncomfortably tight, so I exchanged them for the 7 - which unfortunately were also too tight! (And not in a way that felt like it would just take some "breaking in" time to overcome.) I'm bummed.

Still very tight! Not sure if they will ever feel comfortable. The footbed appears too small as I ordered a half size smaller than I usually wear, as directed by your website.

I recently bought the almond huaraches. Ive wanted them for the past year and had a pair of huaraches a few years ago from a different brand that were totally worn out so I finally decided to splurge. These shoes are well made and high quality. I love the style and the color. I am usually somewhere between an 8 and a 9 in shoes depending on the style and brand. I have a wider foot. I bought these in an 8.5 after talking to Nisolo customer service. The length fit very well but they were snug in the width- near the inside and outside of my toes. I didnt want to return for a 9 because I thought my feet would slip out in the back. They recommended I keep the 8.5 and that theyd stretch a bit. I wore them around my house for a couple of weeks to break them in a bit. I decided to wear them out of the house and I have had terrible blisters ever since. Ive probably worn them about 4-5 times at work. Still, Ive had blisters. I dont know if theyll take more time to stretch or break in but so far theyre super painful. I hope it gets better because I love these shoes.

Poor quality material and construction. Size was also not reliable.... super bummed.

I really want Nisolo shoes to work for me because they're so beautiful, but again I find myself with an incredibly uncomfortable shoe. I have relatively narrow size 8 feet and these, while fitting lengthwise, smash my toes together through the width of my foot. This is a pair ordered after their statement that they've improved the fit of these sandals based on complaints. Just because a product is leather, does NOT mean you should be in agony for 4 months while breaking it in. It means the manufacturer hasn't quite gotten it right yet. Please fix your fit, Nisolo :(

I bought these shoes less than a year ago and I really really wanted to love them (and I do) but I had issues with the sizing and breaking them in and now that I finally do have them broken in the sole is coming off the shoe : ( I usually cant afford to spend this much on shoes but I love your company, but these shoes arent the best quality for the price I paid. Im really saddened by this because I was hoping to have these shoes for awhile but if they are already falling apart I cant see them lasting as long.

I was so excited to receive these shoes! I've been looking for a pair of harachas that fit my feet. I have small, narrow feet, but these shoes run INCREDIBLY SMALL. I got my regular 6.5 and I could barely fit my foot in. I exchanged them for a 7 and they still felt small. My toes stick out and they still feel too tight. I would recommend sizing up an entire size or size and half.

I tried these shoes in both shades of brown and neither was like shown in the pictures. I also sized down by half a size, based on others' reviews, and I'm still working in getting these shoes to stretch enough to be conformable. I don't think new shoes should be so much work.

The sandals are very stylish and I really like the almond color. I took the advice of the company and other reviewers and bought the shoes one size down from my normal size. I am disappointed with the quality of the shoe. I have owned many huarache sandals in my life, that have held up for many years. After less than two months of wearing my Nisolo Huaraches, one of the leather straps broke. I live in a dry climate and only wore the sandals for a couple of hours before switching to another shoe, so there really is no excuse for the poor quality of these shoes. I would not recommend these sandals. You can find better quality shoes, direct from the artisans, for a much more affordable price.

It matched my skin color which made it look really weird. If I were tanner it would have looked awesome. Returned it to get black huraches which better worked with my skin color and I wear them everyday. Absolutely love!!!

I loved the look of these shoes. The salesperson convinced to me to go a size down which felt really tight. They didn't stretch as much as she suggested and so now I don't wear them because they continue to give me a blister. I was not able to exchange them when I called about my problem. I would suggest going with your true shoe size.

Sizing was really small and they didn't stretch nearly as much as Nisolo said they would, except around the pinky toe which meant that one toe kept slipping out of the weaving while the rest were bunched inside. The lack of stretch coupled with the flat, thin bottom meant that they were really uncomfortable to stand and walk in. I wouldn't recommend these shoes because it seems too difficult to figure out the sizing and stretch, and if it doesn't go as anticipated there isn't much you can do.

They're beautiful, but extremely uncomfortable and hard to break in. I am scared to put them on again because my blisters are just hearing.

I wanted to love these shoes so much, but no matter how hard I try I get blisters. I've worn them far too many times to return, and with some heel padding they do fine for minor walks, but I can't commute (.75 mi) each day in them. I may just be way off in sizing (8.5) or I'm not meant to wear Nisolo shoes. I may never know.

These shoes are wonderful! I love everything about them, but after having them for less than 6 months the soles of the shoes are tearing off. I am having a hard time justifying buying more when they are expensive and won't last. Bummed.
