Love this product however not as advertised. The green line in the center is not there. It could be a default, not sure what happened. Great insulation.

Saw these shoes and thought these were one of the best looking hiking boots and they also felt very comfortable (get one full size up from your regular shoe size). But the major problem I have is that I've only had them for less than a month and the adhesive between the rubber and the fabric is falling apart where your shoe normally creases (just like other reviews w/pics). I've only worn these casually and haven't hiked in them yet. But from my understanding, the goretex fabric is within the shoe and should still be ok as far as it being waterproof. We'll see though... I just really expected high quality materials and durability when spending this much money on shoes

these shoes were love at first sight. i put them on - they were an EXACT fit so theres no wiggle room and i'm okay with that. i just wear some thin socks and they're fine. my feet are still warm... i have used them for walking my dog in the rain and plan on using them in the snow. this is day 2 and very pleased

I wanted to love these boots, but they are too small in width. I usually wear Vans men's 7.5/Women's 9 but these are definitely too small. They felt tight across the instep so not sure if going up a size will help. Other reviews on vans.com say the same thing. As soon as they come back in stock, I'll size up and see what happens. They did feel very supportive and cushy and would be good on rocky trails. The sole was very sticky and would do well on slippery surfaces. As others said, the laces are way too short so plan on getting longer ones.

I work outdoors, I walk daily in the mountains and in the first month part of them began to peel off and after 2 months they broke and water got into them. They are comfortable and have good soles, but I expected more for rough use, they made me want them and they are not cheap to break so quickly

So, every time I wear these shoes I get complements and I have three pairs in different colors because of this. I find these boots very comfortable and love the ankle support. However, after a few hours shoveling my feet are quite cold (although dry) and I am not sure about how they would hold up on a proper hike or any sort of actual winter activity. So, if you want boots that feel good and look good while walking from your car/bus to a coffee shop/office in an urban setting- perfect! These are it! Vans has lots of sales on these boots and you can snag them for half off pretty easily. If you want to use it (as vans marketing suggests) for snowshoeing, long hikes and etc get some proper boots and skip these.

I expected better from Vans and was excited to get these boots. I'm an avid all-weather hiker. Short hike, boots felt uncomfortable and I thought maybe I need to break them in? Longer, peak hike, even worse. I've never had to 'break-in' boots before and have gotten more comfortable boots from a sports store for $50 or less! Got my usual size and tried on in-store but purchased online. Different perspective once I actually got outside and used them as intended. 1. Not actually that comfortable. Weird hot spots/friction internally making pain points around the foot. 2. Not much cushion for the foot, which is necessary for prolonged use like hiking. 3. The higher edge on the back of the boot is uncomfortable/painful on the back of the upper ankle. 4. Could use a wider toe box. Foot feels squished and tight across the widest point. When moving, hurts the foot where it creases. 5. You have the ultra range low in a blush pink. These boots look like they have been stereotypically marketed toward the male consumer. They don't need to come in pink butmaybe expand design options for your consumers preferences. They DO have a rugged sole. They DO 'look' cool. I'd rather have a boot that is designed more for comfort than looks! I was hoping these would offer both. These boots might be ok for a winter around town but for more practical outdoor use and hiking-unfortunately, I vote no. Super bummed.

This is a great looking boot! Definitely an eye catcher and something different from your usual winter boot. This is ideal for walking around in a cold city but not for actually being out in the snow and ice for a long time. The boots are not really that warm and I wouldn't trust them in winter hiking or any other serious snow activity. They probably would do fine on an autumn hike I'd imagine. I would only recommend them if you are looking to have some stylish winter boots and are going from public transit to the office in them. If you want actual outdoor boots these are not it.

The boot is definitely stylish and comfortable. Not to mention well insulated. I live in Chicago and it gets brutal up here but for the price point why not stich the sole to the boot for added durability. All top quality shoes/boots come stitched. Do this and you have a winner!!!!

They have a nice fit and lace system, good waterproofing and are very warm for all day use. The only problem is the strong rubber smell that won't go away. I've been wearing them for a few weeks and there's still a strong rubber smell.

Worn hiking the backcountry while hunting for elk. I like that they are lightweight, on the stiffer side for ankle stability, and keep your feet warm. The biggest issue I have is how short the laces are, the insoles are not really "comfy cush", and there are weird pressure points. I'll have to put better insoles in them and see about finding longer laces. They're not horrible, but I don't think I'll buy them again.

Good boot but there is a white residue that is permanently showing up near the toe area. Also, there are areas where the material has some discoloration.

I am a size 9 in EVERY brand, Nike, Adidas, Fallen, Converse, Cariuma, New Balance, Globe, Keen, Sorel, and in 5 other pairs of Vans that I've owned. As the other reviews have stated, go a full size larger if you want your foot to be comfortable. I had to send mine back for a size 10. Even still, the boot feels stiff and almost small, partially due to the laces which aren't long enough (also a recurring theme in the reviews.) I have used the boot working construction, in the snow and mud. It has thus far been decently warm and waterproof, as you would expect from any goretex shoe, but after a little over a week of use, I am beginning to see places where the rubber bumpers are pulling away from the rest of the boot. No water getting in yet; we'll see. On the positive side, they look sick (mine are black and duck green), and the tread grip is absolutely fantastic. That said, for the money, there are definitely more comfortable goretex boots out there. As a skater, I'm a big fan of Vans overall, and am sad to have to leave a subpar review.

I was wondering if these boots have been redesigned due to the poor quality and durability. I notice the (bad) reviews are quite old and I have never seen them before so I am hoping that they've been redesigned for durability. Please answer. Thank you.

These are made well and comfortable but the tie area is hard plastic that doesn't give making them feel a size smaller and fit tight across the toe box. I would have ordered the next size up if I knew this .

Bought these boots as a gift for someone who always wears a 9.5 van. Guess what? Too small and now no longer being carried????

I waited months for these to come back in stock so I could order them. I really like these boots - and I really wish they fit. Unfortunately, they are way too narrow in the front of the boot. They pinch with the thinnest socks. I was going to wear them for EMS due to the grip, goretex, etc. But for the price, I really need to send them back and seek another alternative. Going up a size will make them too long. Unfortunate, for sure. If you have regular or narrow feet, you're all set - if you have wide, pass on these.

I was excited to get these new shoes, but one of the clips for lacing pulled out immediately. Was very bummed about this.

Heed the warnings and buy a size up. Not as comfy as the ultra range hi with the prima soft interior. Look good for now.

I got these as a Christmas present in my normal size and I could barely put them on with regular socks. They were difficult to find in stock, but luckily we were able to find a half a size up. Unfortunately those were also too small so I'll be returning both pairs indefinitely. Really disappointing given that I was excited to have a nice insulated boot for the winter. Given the other reviews as well, it seems like it's best to avoid these boots altogether. All in all, wasted my time and return shipping money.

I've spent money on a few pairs over the years and I definitely can see a dip in quality. My original pairs, no issues. New ones started busting at the seams near my little toe less than 3 months of owning. Out of the 4 pairs I have, the two newest pairs hurt my feet beyond belief, they just feel and fit different than they used to. Another weird things about the newest pairs is that they smell horrible. I own tons of boots, Im aware that feet stink, but for some reasons, the newer pairs smell more than any other shoes I own. Again, this is only after a few months. To make it worse, Van's won't do anything about it.

I mean they are marketing them as outdoor/hiking shoes. So they should hold up to the abuse of such. They don't. Mine are already falling apart.
