They slip in the back as you walk. No amount of tightening helps. I love the look just wish they fit better.

The size and fit seemed fine but the shape of the tongue caused discomfort on both feet.

I have been a Teva wearer for many years. I love the quality of their shoes. It's unfortunate that they keep changing their styles as past styles are still much better than the current offering. The other issue I have is that they are extremely overpriced. It's a good quality shoe but they've gotten greedy.

I used shoes to walk 6 miles each day. One foot/heel sore after each walk. Needs slightly more arch support like the Teva open and closed toe sandals I have used for several years. Not what I was hoping for.

Read an existing review prior to buying concerning the shoelaces and thought reviewer was "nit-picking". Reviewer was right. Worst design; shoelaces do not stay tied. Would double knot but shoelaces are way too short. This actually presents a safety issue. Teva should have a recall of these or at the very least issue new, appropriate shoelaces to everyone who purchased the shoes. Did anyone at Teva actually wear these shoes? Did Teva get stuck with, or get a discount for short shoelaces? It's a shame because I find the shoes comfortable and functional.

Loved my Teva Ridgeview shoes, but the sole wore out, so I purchased the Riva thinking these shoes would be more durable. The Riva are more durable but they are also too stiff and really uncomfortable. The shoe laces also will not stay tied.

They're not as well made as the last two pairs of Riva's I've had. They are also very uncomfortable to wear, too tight at the top eyelets and they dig into my feet when I tighten the laces.

The shoe basically works for me. I walk primarily on bike trails, but also dirt trails, about 7 miles per day. The inside part of the upper heel, wears out very quickly. Teva has definitely not conquered this problem, as I have had it with all of the other, similar, Teva shoes that I have owned.

I really, really wanted to like these shoes. They look great and are clearly well made. I love the large toe box because in the past I've found that my middle toe rubs against the end of the shoe even when the size is correct and the fit is otherwise good. I thought that after wearing them a couple times that I would break them in and they would become more comfortable. This never happened. They just felt stiff and left my feet sore. So they're going back to LL Bean.

These hikers are supposed to be waterproof. I bought a pair this spring and by August, walking through wet grass, my feet and socks are soaked. The toe of one is delaminating and, as one or more reviewers noted, the laces fall off the tongue because the tongue is not long enough. Also, the spongy, if fashionable laces will not stay tied. I chucked them and bought a pair of old-fashioned, non-spongy ones. They will only stay on the tongue if you reverse thread them through the top islet, and then it is v. close. They are comfortable but certainly not worth the premium price.

These shoes should not be sold by Zappos because I believe they are defective design/manufacture. Another reviewer said the same thing about a very uncomfortable spot on the shoe that digs into the side of the foot. This is because at that spot 3 or 4 pieces of fabric meet. If the stitching is done wrong, it creates a sold knot of fabricate that makes them very uncomfortable to wear. I will be returning them.

Recommend you order a half-size larger than you usually need. These are shorter than they should be, and I can't comfortably wear them longer than a few hours.

I loved this shoe at first but then noticed that a seam near the top was rubbing on my foot and started to cause a blister.

I exchanged a size 10 for a size 10.5 , only to have the 10.5 pair made badly: one shoe was smaller than the other and the toe box of the smaller shoe much shallower. Perfect for someone somewhere but not here. Very disappointed, but I give up on the Teva Riva RP.

These shoes were very tight, and run small. They destroyed my feet and legs. Top lace is too hight on the foot and uncomfortable. Shoe strings are too short. Just uncomfortable shoes all the way around.

Disclaimer: I have been a satisfied customer for over a decade and I have never had an issue with a shoe, until now. The spot where the tongue is sewed into the shoe creates a sharp, hard and painful stone-like feature that makes the shoe impossible to wear. After just a few minutes of wearing, I had a serious red spot on both feet. This needs a serious re-design. Do not buy.

The shoe’s padded tongue was too narrow. It did not cushion my feet from the eyelets. Also the narrow tongue pinched my feet when I tighten the laces.

The right is good, but the left is killing me. Where the top lace comes into the shoe, there is a joint that is digging into my foot. I hope it gets better as they break in. And I hope it is soon. They're also heavier than I expected.

In the past, I have loved Tevas and have owned several pairs of shoes and sandals. I'm sorry to say that these shoes are not only the least comfortable Tevas I have ever owned, they are the least comfortable of all shoes I've ever owned. As other reviews have stated, the top eyelet of the insole side grinds away painfully at the skin and bone underneath. I thought maybe it was that other were wearing them too tightly, but no, no matter what I did this show actively hurt me. I am very disappointed but fortunately Teva has a good return policy.
