The upper and tongue have a ridiculous amount of padding, so much that these kicks felt two sizes shy of my natural size. Absurd clenching discomfort is a new direction for the brand, I guess? Or maybe Kyle Walker has problems keeping his shoes on his feet? I returned these torture devices tout de suite.

I really like this shoe, especially the removable insole, and a padded tongue, loads of support, all suede upper, sort of a golf punk design. But, I've got a high instep, and this shoe has a very traditional "oxford" lacing, which never looks good on feet with a high instep because the laces spread at the top more than intended - shoe nerds - are you hearing me? And, with the padded tongue, oxford lacing, and narrow toe of this shoe, it just looked like my foot was crammed into the front of the shoe, and sort of exploding out the top. I have the Skate Old Skool , and they don't have this issue, but the Skate Old Skool lacing is spread wider at the toe, and the tongue is unpadded. All this is probably more thought than one would normal put into a skate sneaker, but that's customer reviews for you; le bien, le mal.

All I can say I love the shoes. And the shipping was fast.

The fit is great. I wear these mostly for walking or riding the bike. They're great for both activities. The soles are nicely padded. These are the most comfortable Vans I own.
