I have had these boots for just over a year, and it has not been an easy year for them. I have worked in Law Enforcement for 20 years and I have never had a boot like these. I have put these through the ringer, from muddy backyards, super hot nasty summer, to standing in one spot for a long period of time these boots are amazing. Everyday I pack an extra 10-35 pounds of gear on a not so small framed person and I love these boots. I have had Merrells, Bates, Danners and more and nothing I have ever had has held up to this abuse. I can't say enough good things. I will be buying another set as the tread had started to wear down, otherwise I would still be running these boots for probably another year.

I ordered a pair in the fall of 2021, My quests were wearing down. I only use them walking the dog about 4miles a day and for shoveling snow. Much lighter than the quests. Had them about 4 months and everything is fine , fit me great, great in the snow, and seem water tight. Very happy with them so far if they last as long as my Quests I will be really happy.

Very happy with the comfort and the ability to adjust the fit depending on the use and the socks I use. I wear them most days and love the support, the comfort and the robustness of the boot. The waterproofing is excellent as well.

A bit clumsy and felt awkward at fiirst but needed to break them in. Now, after few hours of hiking they're very comfortamle and fit perfectly. Very light and supportive, feels like "ready for war" :)

I have just completed a 3 day 90km trek over varying terrain with these and I don't have a single blister. I'm incredibly impressed. I have size 11 and quite a narrow shaped foot. They fit perfectly. I found the best comfort to be had by not doing the laces up too tight. It was such a nice snug fit it wasn't necessary. Would recommend.

I find these are one of the best boots I have own in my rotations over the years. I had lost the perfect pair years ago and have searched. Each time getting close but never quite get that feeling of the lost pair until now. Wow! I love the lightweight and absolutely great ankle support. It did not give any blisters and worn right front the start. Met the element of the wonderful joy of having a great boot.

Broke mine out today. We live in the very damp Pacific Northwest of the US, so I was a bit concerned about whether the GTX would make muster, but it did. I literally stood in a brook up to my ankles, and the boots interior remained 100% dry. I also have hardware in my left ankle, and a very low arch, so the support in both places was spot on. No break-in is required. They were super comfy right out of the box. Now, the test of time will tell whether or not this boot is worth 5 stars.

Retired my long serving leather boots and bought the Quests as wanted lighter boots that would protect suspect ankles. Currently beasting them in training, dragging 30kg packs up the steepest hills I can find, and they're performing beautifully. My only minor gripe (costing 1 star) is that the grip doesn't hold up as well as I would like, so that's the only area for improvement

This is a comfortable boot that required no break in. It felt durable and seemed well made. Although it's the size of a boot, it wore like a tennis shoe, and felt very light on my feet. I had the chance to compare this to the Quest 4. The Element is noticeably more flexible and soft. Although they are near the same weight, the Element felt lighter. The inside sizing was the same - my foot didn't notice a fitment difference, but the Element seemed larger on the outside, a little less 'streamlined.' The Quest 4 seemed a little more tough or rugged, but also less comfortable out of the box. Overall, I like the Element more for my intended use.

I have been using Solomon hiking boots for long day hikes in backpacking for over 10 years. It was time for a new pair, and I decided to try these. They were comfortable right out of the box, but upon putting them on, I realize that they were a little soft for me in terms of the support around the ankles. I returned them and bought the Forces version, which was much more supportive and just seems better made.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

I typically order and wear size 10 as my actually foot size is somewhere between 9.5 and 10. I ordered size 10 in this shoe but after receiving them I noticed they are actually marked size 9 on the tongue and the box. They fit close to perfect with room in the toe box and plenty of ankle and arch support and light weight. I bought them for summer use and therefore will be wearing a lighter weight sock which also aids in the fit. If wearing a heavier weight sock, they would probably be to small. Had I received a size 10, they would have been to big. I would say these shoes probably run a full half size large. Nice looking shoe and appear to be well constructed. The only downfall with ordering online is the inability to try shoes on as they all seem to vary in size by as much as a half size. Zappos does have great customer service and returns are easy but inconvenient and especially time consuming.

I've worked in these for one year and i have nothing but good things to say. There as comfortable as they were on day 1. My job is demanding and its rough on footwear, The boots are holding together well although I'm getting a little wear on the tread but that's to be expected after a year and being worn on a daily basis. I also want to compliment the laces. This is my 4th pair and the laces have held up on all of them. Very happy with this brand.

Great quality and colour, plus they were comfortable straight out of the box. My only concern would be that the tongue needs to be tucked in every time. I don't think I have particularly large calves or ankles but find the ankle supports don't come too far forward enough, especially compared to my previous Quest boots. They're perfect for casual walks and hikes but would imagine water getting in on more strenuous ones.

I bought the boots a month ago and have worn them almost daily due to the recent inclimate weather. They are very comfortable, lightweight, warm, but breathable. My feet dont sweat. Another standout to me is I can wear them with jeans, they are not overly bulky at the top. I like them very much and so far worth the price!

My last pair of Salomon hikers were fantastic right out of the box. These, not so much. Very uncomfortable, especially around the ankles. The soles seem soft and should do very well on slippery rock. Maybe they will get better.

Wore these on a three day camping trip, two of which it rained. My feet stayed warm and dry the entire time. I only took them off to sleep. They are very comfortable and dont seem to need breaking in like most leather boots.

I loved the Quest 4d 3 GTX. Every single thing that was changed from those to these was a mistake, down to the lace hooks and the color. That piece of leather in the middle, am I hiking or climbing trees? You have to take the laces out of the upper eyes to get the boots on, then relace them. Not something I want to deal with every morning. I don't want to have to sit down for 3 minutes and mess with my boots on my way out the door. I shouldn't have to sit to put my boots on. Bring back the Quest 4d 3 GTX, until then I'll be buying my boots elsewhere.

Have been a fan of salmons for many years, these boots are just too light weight for their size. Tongue is too narrow so a bit fiddly to keep tongue in place when lacing, in desperate need of a rock plate as sole is just too thin and you feel every stone after a few miles. Comfortable boot but where these would be ideal you'd probably be ok with shoes or mids. Needs more stack height in the sole... Too early for proper durability test but salmons warranty is excellent so not an issue for me.

The blue support factory padding is missing , you only get the OTRTH inserts. Thus I guess that's why theses are marked as Neutral for support , so it depends on how your feet feel, for me it's a deal breaker. I need foot support,
