Rugged line runs 1/2 size smaller than classic. It’s annoying when buying NB shoes because of that. Otherwise, the tongue is narrower than classic. I like the color combination in the rugged line.

One very durable shoe. many miles of walking/running on asphalt, and they lasted forever. The insides finally started to wear out, before the sole went flat. One of their better shoes.

I wear them every day and they fit just right, feel great. Precisely what I wanted!

I got these to replace some NB ML574v2 that were getting worn out after only 6 months. Hoping the soles on these last a little longer. Others have said this felt small but they feel perfect compared to the v2 even without having to break them in. Another big plus is the inserts are not glued down so it’s an easy swap with my custom inserts. The color is not quite as bright and orange as the rust on the v2 (left). Overall nice shoes and super comfortable for walking.

A great pair of walking or hiking shoes , they feel a little more heavy duty than the normal new balance but that’s a good thing ,very well constructed. I can already tell they’re going to be one of my favorites.

The Rugged model of the 574 Classic is a very nice shoe. A little heavier due to the thicker more aggressive sole but otherwise fits and feels like the originals. Many of the Rugged offerings are a little over the top in color combinations for someone of my advanced age but the navy/grey/green model is attractive to me and I really enjoy wearing them. They fit to size, are roomy, and quite comfortable for any shoe let alone one at this price point. I highly recommend them and look forward to seeing additional conservative models in the future.
