I"m a small man with duck feet, size 6. No one makes a men' shoe that fits. Went to REI, tried a womens 7 wide. It was weird, my feet smiled back at me. I have since bought a second pair and will most likely soon get another pair in case they discontinue making these. Colors are definitely directed toward women but the grey leather totally work for a man.

I am in mid 70s, with bilateral knee replacement, up on feet walking/standing at work - this pair makes it so comfortable!

These are wonderful walking shoes for winter. The leather is soft and the tongue very comfortable. The wide width is perfect for feet with bunions.

This is my second pair in 3 months. I am an Office Gynecologist, in my mid 70s, on my feet long hours, with bilateral knee replacement, I wore my teal pair (my regular run errands/walk the dog sneakers) in Dec to work. Decided to order this black pair to look more professional. It is perfect!!!

I experienced plantar fasciitis pain 3 years ago. The best advise I received was from a PT that suggested Altra shoes. I am not a runner but I'm on my feet and moving 10-12 hours a day for work. I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel, high arch. I rotate this shoe with a 4mm drop from another brand. I prefer the zero drop but the rotation helps with leg fatigue. My plantar fasciitis is no longer a issue! And FINALLY, a zero drop shoe that is slip resistant!!! Thank you Altra!!

I am a senior and wanted a shoe that would keep my feet dry on my early morning walks now that it is cooler and the grass is often wet. I walk 2+ miles each morning, 19-20 mins/mile pace. These shoes are perfect. They are sturdy, keep my feet warm, and dry when I have to walk on wet grass. I have been wearing Escalante 2.5 for years. I have 'walked through' the soles on four pair over time, but when it got cooler and wetter, my feet were getting cold and wet. So for summer I will wear Escalante 2.5 and for cooler/cold weather it will now be the Torrin 5 leather. I have a narrow foot, but with heavy socks the shoe fits perfectly. It was comfort at first walk.

I had bought the Altra Provision Walk as a reliable walking shoe to wear at work and it was wonderful because my feet never hurt after a 12 hr shift at the hospital. When they stopped making this version, I was really worried that they wouldn't be putting out another one because the shoes I had purchased were specifically made for food service and hospital personnel professions that need and require a slip resistant tread. I wore my last pair for 4.5 years, they lasted that long. And in all honesty, I didn't want to let them go because I loved them so much.
I was delighted when Altra came out with the Torin 5 Leather!! I immediately bought 2 pair because I had loved the first ones they came out with.
These do not disappoint! They are better than the first version, are slip resistant, and amazingly comfortable. My feet have never been happier, and I have run home after work with them and they still feel comfortable. I will have a very hard time trying any other brand. Very much worth the price.

These are nice shoes and I wanted to like them, but they don't fit like my Torin Plush 4.5. I need an 11.5 in this shoe, and Wide was the only width available. I'm not sure if the extra width was the problem or the re-design of the shoe. To my feet, it felt like the toe box was shallower than the Torin Plush 4.5, although it might have been the feel of the leather as it flexed over the toes. At any rate, these just aren't as comfortable for my feet so they're going back. For aesthetics, I also preferred the more rounded toe of the Torin Plush 4.5 over the more pointed to of Torin 5.
I'd also recommend:

I bought these online for a warm winter work shoe- I liked everything about them except the sole is coming off. I have tried epoxy a couple of times, but not sure if they will hold up much longer. Rather disappointing for the cost of the shoe. Not sure if I would purchase again or try something else.

I bought the shoes 6 months ago. I work in the restaurant. Now my shoes are falling apart the sole is completely worn out and coming apart. I can't afford buying it every 6 months for this price. Although it didn't hurt my feet at all which I really like about it. I'm just disappointed wish it would last longer.

Tried to teach in these but soles came right off. I teach in a kitchen and sadly the grip on the bottom wore right off.

The sole started peeling off after a few months. And I only wore them at work as a massage therapist. They are comfortable and worked well with inserts but feel bulky.

The brand is amazing. It's the reason I was excited to purchase the shoes. I'm a bartender and server in a restaurant in Sedona Arizona. The shoes didn't last 4 weeks. They are falling apart and the non slip is non existing right now. It's makes them a hazard to work in. I cannot understand how a brand like this lasted so well with hiking but walking in a restaurant with non slip is too difficult of technology to figure out? Love this brand of hiking/running shoes. I am just so disappointed that the work shoes are such poor quality.

Terrible quality. I've been using Altra shoes in different styles for years and was thrilled to see that there was a work shoe. My partner bought a pair a few years ago and have lasted nicely. I purchased my own pair early summer of this year as they are falling apart. I'm highly disappointed

I bought this show for work since it is a non slip shoe, however it started to fall apart within 2 months of wear. I even emailed and it was considered "wear and tear". Waste of money.

I bought these about 8 months ago. Super comfortable. But the sole is peeling away near the outer toe area and the tread is fairly worn in the ball of the foot area. I haven't worn these daily. Didn't use them at all during the winter and stopped wearing them when summer hit in favor of walking sandals. So maybe 3 months of use total and the sole is pretty worn condition. Makes me hesitant to buy anything else from Altra.

The shoes are not slip resistant on oily or wet surfaces. The soles fell apart a short time after wearing them. I contacted Altra and they denied me a refund.

I've been wearing the Torin for a few years now and FINALLY you came out with the Torin 5 leather! I ordered a pair of the grey in my size 7 from my local provider, Missouri Running Company, Cape Girardeau, MO. When my shoes arrived I held my breath, afraid they would be to tight. But no! They are absolutely perfect! I didn't need a bigger size because they are leather! AWESOME! I wore them to work that day (on my feet on concrete for at least 8 hours) and my feet stayed perfectly comfortable as they do in my older Torin 3.5s! I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase and can't wait for you to offer them in brown leather! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't think I could like a shoe better than the men's Cayd shoe I had bought before, but these are even better21. I like the smoother finish on the leather, and the toe doesn't look as chunky and odd, even thought it feels just as comfortable. As always, the foot-shaped toe and the level foot position feel great and are why Altra has become my favorite brand for casual shoes (this is the third pair I own right now).

Within fifteen minutes of receiving my first pair, I had ordered a second. I have severe arthritis, and bunions. I need extra cushioning as well. I look for as high cushioning as I can find. So I've been wearing only Altras for a few years now.
But these come in wide, so they are even more comfortable than the rest. I plan to get a couple more of them.

I love the look of the shoe, the comfort and the fact that I can wear them at work with my uniform. With that said, the rubber sole is coming apart and I haven't had them for a year yet. Its coming off in the same spot on both shoes, with one piece actually coming completely off today because it was dangling when I lifted my foot. The glue holding it doesn't appear very substantial. It is to note there are letters stamped into it as well as the foam underneath it ?88A WS9.5A If the company is reading this then this is the same place both shoes and possibly indicates the specific spot on the sole?
Anyway, I do love the comfort of the shoe. I'm a dispatcher and work 24 hour shifts. While I don't walk as much as most do I try to stand at my position as much as possible and walk back and forth when I can. I wear them 10 days a month for approximately 15-18 hours at a time.

Good shoe and spacious toe box. I can't remember if I ordered wide or regular but it fits my left foot tight. May have to order an half size up.

I work in a grocery store kitchen FT, 5 days per week, 40 hrs, I'm on my feet 8 hrs per day. I LOVE ALTRA, I hike, trail run, and walk in your shoes for years, but..., I am not happy with the Torin 5 leather nonslip work shoes and how the bottoms have fallen off in under 4 months. I purchased these on 9/24/24, I've been wearing them since Oct 1st there abouts and the bottoms have fallen off already. The shoe in general I LOVE! It fits my foot so perfectly, yet the bottoms need to be reworked.

I have always loved Altra, but the last two pairs I have purchased, including this one, have had a piece of the sole flap up. This happened after only wearing it for about 2 weeks.

Only 3 months into wearing at my FT job and the tread has worn quite a bit, as well as the tread coming away from the sole in a few places. Pretty dissappointed considering the price of these.
