This is my second pair of paradigms. They look funny but are very comfortable. The cushioning is great for walking/running. The wide toe box keeps my toes from squishing together even later in the day.

I have very flat feet. When I discovered the Altra brand with the old Earth Shoe type toe box shape, I was intrigued, and then sold. My first four pair were Torin Plush, and they were so comfortable. Then, while on sale, I saw the Paradigm and bought a pair. Even better! More cushion and stability, and so comfortable. And I like the new type of laces they use. They don't come undone and I don't have to double tie them. I'm older now and walk more than I jog, but I'm sold on the Paradigm model.

I have struggled for years to find a shoe that is right for me and running. I have bounced around a lot of different brands even within Altra and finally have found this shoe to work best for me.

I know a lot of you have said you don't care for this much cushion but at 51 and a woman the cushion this shoe provides for me is PERFECT on my joints and I have a few times had them on all day (yes, I know it's a no no) and my feet NEVER hurt! The wide toe box is amazing and the support is just right. I am SO DISAPPOINTED that the new 7 shoe is only High cushion! Please go back to the MAX cushion on the 8! It took me years to find the right shoe! I am now scouring the internet for my size and will buy as many as I can unfortunately I have to buy the women's as the men's are sold out in my size. I purchased the men's because the ladies colors were ugly...I loved the neutral beige color of the men's. Please go back to the MAX cushion on the 8!

Bought these on a whim during the Labor Day sale needing a new daily. Never used Altra or zero-drop before but WOW. My stride has never looked/felt better, and I'm definitely running more efficiently than my previous shoes (used brooks and hoka).
I can't give you a good idea of how they compare to other Altras, but these won't be my last pair. Good cushioning but not too pillowy, stable but not clunky, breathable and comfortable upper, no fit issues/blistering and heel stays locked in place, and, as far as an month-in goes, very durable, showing minimal wear. Easy 10/10.

I had previously tried v.1 of this shoe and returned them immediately: I got a back ache that quit when I stopped wearing them.
Now, with v.6, I can wear them for days comfortably. The width and length feels right and the shoe is conservatively styled. I can feel the arch support and lateral stability as I walk. Other than being on the soft, squishy side I think they're great shoes and a welcome relief from orthotic inserts for correcting my over pronation.

Walking and social and Gym workouts.
Bad back with bone on bone lumbar cushioning is awesome. Also a pronator , stable and had room for additional orthotic as well.
Love them!

A clear bright spot in Altra's ever-decreasing product quality. This shoe might be, without qualifiers, the best high-mileage trainer. The durability is acceptable for ultra training, and the life of the outsole, foam, and upper are balanced so that it 'exits gracefully'. The ego max foam is fantastic. Because it's geared toward stability, the P6 is, surprisingly, PHENOMENAL on trail, which is where I use it almost exclusively. This shoe is so good that I drilled the outsole for a few 1/4" studs so that I can use it for a high-elevation ultra. It outperforms Topo's Mtn Racer line, which seems to be aiming for a feel something along the lines of the P6. Most Altras blow the heel liner during extended uphill power-walking, which for some reason does not happen with this model.
This outstanding performance led me to think that maybe 'Altra is back', so I picked up a pair of the Timp 4s in hopes of not trail running in a pair of road shoes with screws in the sole. The uppers of the Timp 4 blew out on the fourth or fifth run. I don't know if Altra made the P6 so good just by accident or not. But it is easily the best shoe in my current quiver and probably the best high-mileage trainer I've ever had.

This is my third pair of Altras (after two pairs of Lone Peaks) and these are my favorite yet. Literally get excited to put them on each day as they're so comfortable. I'm on my feet a lot for work and I could walk for hours, stand for hours, whatever I needed to do. Also, I pronate and the way these have adjusted my gait is perfect. Can't say enough good things.

This is a fantastic shoe. And while I like Altra, Altra doesn't get everything right. In fact, I ordered 8 different models to try on, and this was hands-down the best. The tongue is comfortable, there's no heel slippage, the shape is not too wide or narrow, and the feel on the road is perfect - comfortable and stable while still allowing natural motion. I don't really feel the Guide Rail or stability working, and this is my first stability shoe. It just feels like a great shoe.
Now, the Torin 4 was perhaps the greatest shoe ever. Every Torin since has had a terrible tongue that just ruined it. But the Paradigm 6 is the worthy successor. Can't say enough good things about this shoe.

The second time I have purchased Altras. Normally I am a Brooks/Hoka runner and have tried many others too. Nearly 50 and running about 150 miles a month for years I reckon my feet have changed a lot more than the shoes. Anyway, this show fits less bulky than the Hoka Gaviota and is softer than the Brooks Adrenaline.
I am sold on them and will buy them again and have already recommended them. I bought them from Running Elements in Daytona Beach - the salesperson informed they did a 100 mile ultra in them and loved them too

This is my third pair of Paradigms. After losing a chunk of meniscus to a knee surgery several years ago the extra cushion makes it possible for me to continue to run. The only thing I can think of to make this shoe better would be a longer lasting wear layer in the sole. I'll keep running in them as ling as you keep making them.

I've been getting injections in my knees for past few years my son gave me a pair of your shoes 2 months ago I must say they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and I'm 76 and worn lots of shoes and I believe my knee pain is gone and I'm thinking I can do away with the injections for good let's hope so and that's a very good thing. So thank you for an excellent product and I'm telling my friends how nice they are I'm sure you will getting orders from them, PEACE .
