I've worn Merrell Moab Mid Waterproof for a longtime and buy a pair yearly. This is my first Merrell Oakcreek. In looks I can't tell any difference in this Oakcreek from the Moab 2. However, this shoe feels both shorter and narrower. It may very well be the width and length of other 9 1/2 shoes but I'm rating compared to the older Merrell equivalent I've worn for years. I normally wear a thicker SmartWool sock with my Merrell Moabs and wear them daily to walk Fall to Spring in all weather including snow and rain. This shoe fits but only with a thinn sock such as I wear indoors with dress slacks. Additionally, the tongue is about 1/4 to 1/3 inch narrower than the Moab and does not seal all the way across my ankle so these are not going to be waterproof as far up and will allow snow to go down inside if it is deeper than my ankle bone. For narrow feet, you will like this shoe. For those of us with wider feet who have loved Merrell, it will be a disappointment. It was $20 less expensive but I'd probably pay the extra $20 and be able to wear my warmer socks.

This boot was brand new when I ordered it, so I called customer service regarding fit and other questions I had. They were SO helpful and kind. I have 7 other pairs of Merrells (Encore Ice (3), Snow Creek Lace, Haven Mid Lace, Chameloen 7 & Siren 3), which my feet love. Merrell is about the only brand I can wear as I have severe permanent back problems and peripheral neuropathy in my feet. Due to this, footwear needs to be supremely comfortable out of the box. I received the boot and wore it around the house for a week. They're light, nice looking and seem very well made. However, despite using 3 different insoles to try them with, the soles just didn't seem cushy enough for my back and feet, particularly in the heal region. The fit was great. I wear a 10.5 or 11 in Merrell's. I ordered an 11 and with a thick insole I added and VERY thick socks, they fit perfectly. I have a narrowish foot, but always wear Merrell regular width w/a heavy sock successfully. They seemed slightly wider in the toes than my other Merrell's which wouldn't have been an issue for me. These have nice sturdy laces, bellowed tongue, nice deep tread and I LOVE the color. The fit was similar to my Siren 3 hikers, but sturdier, with a realistic arch support. I've tried the Moab's and I can't wear those due to the high arch support in those. These don't have that. I was very sorry these just didn't work for me. Merrell's customer service was stellar! LOVE MY MERRELL'S!!!

This boots are fantastic! I purchased them a few days before taking off for a week-long camping trip in Colorado in March, and I'm SO GLAD that I did. I didn't have the guts to order them without trying them on since I know that Moabs are notoriously too wide for my somewhat narrow feet. Luckily, I was able to try these on in my usual sneaker size (9.5) at a Merrell store and determine that I needed a half-size larger. Zappos had them in a 10 and they arrived just in time. They were great right out of the box and I had absolutely zero discomfort while breaking them in. They're nice and lightweight, I didn't experience any issues with water seepage despite trudging through snow and puddles, the colors are beautiful, they have great arch support (I have very high arches), and the traction is great (however I am wearing shoe spikes for added traction on ice in the photo). If you're like me and have tried Moabs but your feet are just too narrow, I highly recommend Oakcreeks. I wore them for the entire week that I was away and I'm excited to have them to bring with me on many more adventures.

I literally just put these on, but so far one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I really hope they stay this comfortable after breaking in and with repeated use. I wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe. I ordered a 9 and it’s perfect. I have wide feet but these aren’t too tight.

Very sturdy and comfortable!! Great for cooler weather!! I shud have gotten a 1/2 size smaller ( thought I wouldn't have enough room for thicker socks, but they are wider than I thought!!! All in all happy woth my purchase...

So comfy, and easy to wash off. Appreciate that the insole pulls out just like my running shoes. Bought these for working in a cold, dirty environment. They are light weight yet keep my feet warm and the soles are good for gripping on the cement floor. Maybe one day I will event take them on a hike ;-) and test them on the trail.

I didn't realize how sloppy my old old hiking shoes had gotten until I put these on. Totally comfortable, but now I'm walking right again.

Great - what you'd expect from a Merrell shoe and expect to get a lot of wear out of them before I buy another pair. Took them hiking in Ireland!

With 0 hiking boot experience I took these boots on two 5+ mile hikes in Arizona with lots of incline and rough terrain and LOVED them. I typically take a long time to break in shoes and have generally wide feet, so I was nervous to pull the trigger on a pair of boots. But these not only were comfortable the WHOLE time but I didn't get a single blister. True to size, cute, comfy, 10/10 from me.

Great size, fit, and comfort. To top it off, they’re super cute too! Can’t wait to try them out on the trails! They seem very lightweight and they’re waterproof, a great combo for me!

Fits like a glove! Definitely go with your regular size, they'll fit perfect. I'm excited to break them in a bit more, but so far I'm very happy with my purchase.

Most comfortable and supportive shoe. I have plantar fascitis and Merrell are the only shoes I can comfortably wear. I will not wear anything else for work.

These boots fit so well the first time I put my foot in them. I have a narrow, hard to fit foot but I had a previous pair of Merrell's I loved so too a chance and ordered this pair on line. I was not disappointment. These are my go to boots!

I work on a farm and these boots have been good to me. Paired with some insoles, they've been comfortable from the get! On my feet all day and no complaints

I normally wear a 9.5M and ordered this boot in a 10 to accommodate thick socks. However, the size 10 was too small so I returned and reordered a 10.5M. This size is perfect when wearing my thick hiking socks. The toe box is big enough for comfort. I can’t wait to try them on the trail.

A very comfortable hiking shoe. I'm returning because the higher top bothers me a bit i.e. movement around ankle.

I couldn’t tell much because these hikers are so big but they are very lightweight and I liked the design. I like the Moab 3 better.

I kept trying these on around the house before deciding they won't work for me. They rub uncomfortably on my left ankle when I lace them tight enough to keep the heel from slipping. The arch support is in the right place and there is plenty of room in the toe box. They looked pretty good too. Will continue looking.
