I was in need of a versatile running shoe that's capable of providing traction over a variety of urban surfaces in the winter (icy areas, bare pavement, snowy surfaces, slush, etc.). As the sun sets where I run, conditions can go from wet, to slippery, to icy. At night, there's a lot of "black" ice. This shoe handles extremely well in that environment. It provides excellent surface traction, especially on ice, but it is also comfortable on bare pavement. It's extended the number of opportunities I have to get outside and stay off the treadmill when winter conditions are subpar. I would opt for a shoe with deeper lugs if the majority of my run was on a snow covered trail. However, for urban winter running with a variety of surface conditions this shoe is great, and I am glad I found it.

These shoes are awesome!!!!! They stick so well on snow and ice. Great for shoulder seasons as well.

I have been running year round in Minneapolis for years, in snow, ice, whatever. These are very nice running shoes, well made, and comfortable for my needs. The softshell, water/wind resistant uppers are great, and very warm (too warm for me above 25 degrees, YMMV). Unfortunately the ICE Grip soles are more of a gimmick. I haven't found a surface where they really offer an advantage. In soft snow or slush, I'd say they are actually worse than most shoes. This has to due with the flat center sections. It just doesn't offer much grip. And the traction on ice isn't noticeably better than any other shoe. My preference is still trail running shoes in winter. The one thing I'll give them is that they are much warmer than a normal running shoe.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this shoe but was looking for something for fall and winter walking and I liked the color scheme. Didn't take long for the Peregrine Ice to become my everyday shoe. From walking the dog to just running errands around town, this shoe is so comfortable and versatile. The stable grip is impressive and it's not overly heavy like some other hiking shoes, it's lite and stays cool. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others!

I work in a wet environment and wanted a comfortable shoe that would stay dry. This shoe definitely delivers in both those categories. I wash this shoe frequently after getting it dirty and it always comes out looking really good. Fabrics seem really good quality. Overall I really like this shoe.

Sturdy shoes and comfortable. The shoe runs a half-size small on me. I normally wear a 10 in Nike and a 10.5 Peregrine-Ice felt snug on me. I bought the shoe for the Vibram soles which are known to last forever. The sole on my first pair lasted a decent amount of time but I had hoped it would last even longer which made me wonder if the entire sole is Vibram, or just part of it.

Bought these end of season last year to set aside for this winter. Now that I've had a chance to try them out, highly recommend them. A great alternative to a winter boot when the snow is minimal for day-to-day use. The pair I have is all black, without a colored stripe, so they work well for wearing to work, as my office isn't that focused that what I have to wear footwear wise has to be a dress shoe, just has to look professional. I'm personally from NYC, but have a home in Montreal where I've been wearing them mostly so far, so I've had plenty of opportunity to use them on the ice. If I were wearing my normal Nike's, well, I wouldn't be wearing them, as I'd be slipping and sliding on the ice instead. Product improvements that would be nice would be if they were waterproof (they're not, nor do I believe they claim to be), and it'd be nice if they had insulation to orient them toward winter use. My hands get colder with gloves than my toes in these, so not much of an issue for many people, but they're not suitable for standing around casually outside in sub-freezing temperatures. Then again, I was wearing them at 3 degrees Fahrenheit and wasn't that cold. If they partnered with Columbia to line their shoes that'd be awesome, or I suppose wool socks can work too. I don't believe anyone else makes a sneaker with the Vibram Arctic Ice sole, and that's the secret sauce for these that makes owning a pair for winter wear where there's ice on the ground, well worth this purchase. Trying to get my wife to get a pair, but she doesn't seem to mind falling on the ice! Me on the other hand, I don't have time to fall and recover, so I'm really happy I bought these! I do however recommend a half size larger, as they run slightly small in my opinion. I'm normally a 10.5 bought a 10.5, they fit, but my toes rub, so an 11 would likely have been better.

This grip is amazing, I keep expecting to slip, and I don't. I am learning how to walk on ice, knowing that I won't slip, it's fun!!

Perigrine Ice+ Is my go to winter trail running shoe. I wear them for both training and racing including snowshoe racing. Fit is superb and they are stable on technical terrain if tied snuggly. The 4mm drop is perfect for me. There are a couple of areas where they could be better. The tongue and the laces are too short for a runner's knot. The grip is good on wet or snowy surfaces, as any Perigrine is, however on ice is just ok. You really still need spikes. Midsole is firm, maybe a little too firm for some.

After learning about Peregrine Ice + I could not wait to try them out. I was most excited about the sole of the shoe. In pictures it looks like HH Bevy ICE X technology, (tiny shards of glass are used for grip). In reality, the blue markings on the bottom of the shoe are just that, markings. Still excited to try them out. Took to the trails. January, Edmonton AB, Temperature -26C (-14.6F) Biggest surprise was how warm the shoe actually was. This shoe fits well, feels great, AND WARM, during the run my feet felt warm but never sweaty. 60 min run in -26C toes never got cold. Perfect AS far as ICE + part of the shoe, I did not love it, snow covered trail grip was no different than any other trail shoe, on icy parts shoe slipped like any other shoe as well. As advertised, I do not believe Saucony hit the jackpot. I did not find that my grip improved on icy trail by wearing this shoe. Also, 4mm drop, don't love that either, prefer 0, but that's personal preference. The good: super warm, great fit, looks great in black and orange The not so good: grip is not as advertised Overall: great shoe, worth the money, but don't expect any superior grip on icy trails.

Shoe worked pretty good on ice and snow and on trail. They are also warm but not too hot my feet were comfortable temp wise. UNFORTUNATELY for me, my anatomy and the design fo the shoe do not match up. I get post run severe ankle pain. Run in them 2 times and wont be taking them out for round three. Very dissapointing for me.

Do you shoes are extremely comfortable and perform quite well for Winter walks and runs however, my first pair got destroyed at the heel after one winter but thankfully Saucony warrantied them. Now on my second pair which are even more comfortable and after one winter have started to squeak every step I take on one of the shoes. Now I am doubting if I buy another pair or switch brands.
