Much more plush and stable than the 27s, but I do wish the 28s had more ankle support. (Same with the 27s.) I'd be very interested if next year, the GEL-Kayano 29s also came in a mid-high option.
My Kayano 28s are like the 27s before them in they they're literally medicinal for this over-pronator!

I have been running/walking on Asics for a long time. So far the 28 is not the same coming off of the 26. It is bit narrower is my biggest issue. I will update since it has only been a month.

Coming from Nike Epic React. This one seems to be on the heavier side

This is about the third period that I have bought. I like their shoes but something about the design causes socks to slide down. I own several brands of twnnis shoes, It's the only brand design that socks annoyingly slide down. And it's not related to the brand of socks. I've tried several slow to mid cut socks and they all do the same thing with these shoes.

Expected more, not a fan of these. The cushion is non-existent, the soles feel like inflexible molded rubber and provide no support. They look cool but these are going to collect dust or be used for the gym, unfortunately.

28 changed collar padding fabric again, I have 27 and 28 same time, 27 for road walking and 28 for gem, however, 28 collar padding already wounded, then I recognize 28 used different fabric then 27 ( I had problem w/ Kayano (23?)because collar fabric damage so quick), so before you buy please check and i think 27 is way better!

I have been running in these shoes for over 20 years and love them. But I ordered a new pair last Sunday. Was told they would arrive this Saturday which was great news as I am leaving this Sunday for a month on the road and really needed new shoes. Last night (Saturday) at 9:00 pm I was told by the tracking website that they would arrive on Monday, not Saturday and after my flight on Sunday. Hard to believe it takes 8 days to get these shoes to me. So I am off on a long trip with no running shoes. Beware! What they tell you about delivery is not necessarily accurate!

The recent Gel Kayanos have not lived up to the reputation and performance of earlier versions, in my opinion. The "guts" of the shoe have been removed resulting in less support provided by the uppers and less durability of the soles. A "printed" design on the upper is just not the same as the multi-layer stitched Asics logo. And neither is the simplified sole composition. I have been a very loyal Gel Kayano user since the very beginning, in the early 90's because they enabled me to return to running & jogging. As a big pronator, the shoes have been a life (knee) -saver for me. I have purchased multiple pairs of every generation of Gel Kayano. I am very excited to hear that Asics is re-launching the Gel Kayano 14. I just ordered a pair and am looking forward to using them ...and comparing them to my current 3 pairs of 28's. (I split my time between Canada and the US so I double up on many high-use items. Thanks!

The cushion of this product was comfortable. The only drawback is the poor support for the back side of a foot. It was a pity that the back part of the product was low.

I wore them to Disneyland as my previous experience with this model was good. (2 generations ago.) This version of the GEL-KAYANO 28 caused large blisters to form on both of my heels. I could barely walk by the end of the second day. I should have purchased the previous version instead.

Nice looking. Well made. The shoes are clunky to run in. Not a shoe you could just run in. Shoes are not fast on the tennis court

Mediocre at best. Shoe isn't as responsive as previous models. I personally don't like the foam insoles.

This was my first purchase of a Kayano shoe. The shoe is very tight. I bought an 11.5 EEEE. This does not feel like a 4E width. Maybe it is the narrow toe box. I had Asics shoes years ago that had roomy toe boxes. Why do manufacturers insist on fashion over comfort?

I've been using the Kayano model since #18. I like the changes made to the 28. For example, the forefoot has alittle a more cushion, which makes it feel like the shoe turns over faster. The toebox is rounded again versus being pointy in the 27. The midfoot area does not feel as stiff but in a good way. The ONLY things I don't like is that it fits like a 2E instead of 4E (my normal size) and in the tongue area it is tight on the top of my foot when laced. This normally happens when I wear a tight fitting shoe. I tried to break in the shoes with a 1 hr recovery, 1 hr tempo, and a 3 hr run but still feels tight. Sadly, I will not use these for the marathon which is in 3 weeks. I will have to resucitate my Kayano 27s for just one more run. On a positive note, shoes are great for walking.

Photo does not represent shoe true color........Dreary dismal low tone blue......boring! Always like Asics Kayano shoe..other than wrestling shoes I get the KAYANO running shoes...Seems since my last purchase a couple of years ago of multiple purchases of the kayano shoe , the Kayano has undergone some structural and design change......not sure I like the change......still have to wear them outside......the jury is still out.

These shoes don't look like they have any additional reinforcement in the toe area. My toes would wear through in a couple months.

I wore out my Gel Kayano 27's and bought the 28's. They just aren't as comfortable. My feet and knees are not fans of this shoe for some reason. I also don't feel like they have as much support for over-pronators.
