5, 11’, 180 lbs male runner, average 35 miles per week. Been a Kayano guy for years. For me, the 28’s do not provide the support the 26 and 27's did. They feel too soft and like there is less padding between the balls of my feet and the ground. The balls and arches of my feet are sorer after running in them than in previous models.

Nice looking shoes, but width is no where near 4E. They aren’t even 2E. More like standard width. Not sure how they can advertise them as extra wide.

I have been using Kayanos for at least ten years. This version is not as good as the last, the "new" foam soul sometimes causes the balls of my feet to ache. They are showing wear on the bottom after only a month. I recommend stop "improving" them, they were perfect before.

The FF Blast in the front of the shoe does not provide the support the Kayano 26 did using the FlyteFoam. Please go back to the FlightFoam on the 29 and also change the trusstic back to the way it used to be. That will be all.

Great shoes! Lighter than I expected and very supportive. I have very flat and wide feet but these shoes fit my needs perfectly.

Personally I love them. They are a lot more comfy and responsive. The heel is basically twice as soft as the 27s. The only negative is that since it is so cushioned my feet get hotter making it more prone to blisters. They run true to size.

I loved the look and general fit of this newest Kayano, and have owned and enjoyed several earlier versions. But I needed to return them because the left sneaker gave me a blister at the base of my foot near the heel after just a single run. I cannot tell is this is merely a defect in workmanship, because right sneaker did not pose this problem. I might even try another pair to test that theory. But I cannot hold onto sneakers that harm my feet.

Loved everything about this shoe except something about its construction at the heel gave me two enormous blisters on the inside sides of my feet in the exact same spot. Hated having to return them.

So far they seem pretty good. the new foam in the forefoot seems like it is maybe more compressible then the older flightfoam, but also feels like it has more spring. You can definitely feel the road more in these than previous versions but have not had any issues with knee pain like other reviews have mentioned.

These shoes are comfortable and feel broken in right out of the box. The shoes are very comfortable but. After a week break in period of everyday wear I decided to do a 5 mile walk. After 5 miles the front part of my feet between the toes and arch were in a lot of pain. I'm 6'4", 240 lbs. I don't think this shoe is built to withstand the forces of heavier individuals.

Husband loved the color (why in the world are all men's shoes in black or grey only these days?!) but after about an hour of having them on his feet indoors it caused a shooting pain in the heel which he doesn't get with the GT1000.

fit and size are accurate. Heel collar breaks down easily ! I have worn this model for over 20 years. The pair bought in December had the heel collar break down. I was certain Asics would stand behind their imagined great product, NO !!! they tell me it is my fault, I must be putting them on and taking them off without loosening the laces ! This is 100% speculative and worse FALSE !!!! How dare they. This collar is failing as none before. BTW I am 57 and baby my new items. This pair of sneakers had great care and I always loosen the laces to take off and they are loose to put on. Shocking , belt betrayed by so called customer service ! Lame !!!

I am a big fan of Asics gel-kayano and I purchased 5 pairs of Asics gel-Kayano shoes in the past 2 yrs, most recent purchase few months ago was Gel-Kayano 28. I returned the initial pair assuming it was a defective product and I purchased another pair of the same model the second pair also had the same problem, cushion around the top of the heel collar/heel tab area does not stay in place and moves to the bottom and never comes back again, this is causing major problems with the fit and comfort of the shoe. Asics should be ashamed for the quality of this product.

The last kayano I had was a 26. Loved them. These are nowhere near the support shoe the 26 was. Disappointed that I spent 160 and the heels are already cracking after two ten minute walks. These make my ankles and knees sore as they are way too soft and don't offer the support of the previous models. They also got a bit narrower. I've always worn kayanos but it doesn't look like that will be the case moving forward....

The shoes soul is very soft for a running shoe. I went to go run in this shoes and my ankles and knees were hurting in just minutes. I had to take a couple days off from running to heal. I will not ever wear them again.

My husband has flat feet and has trouble finding comfortable shoes. After buying one pair of the Gel-Kayano 28 shoes, he liked them so much that he ordered a second pair! His feet no longer hurt! Thank you!!!

Growing up with narrow shoes was what I thought shoes were supposed to feel like, but once I discovered Asics 4E wide width shoes I was finally able to truly enjoy a comfortable pair of athletic shoes. Both of my pinky toes curl under the "ring toe" but if I had grown up with properly fitting shoes they'd be out and about with the rest of the little piggies. Hopefully more styles will be available to choose from as I assume most of us shouldn't be wearing such narrow shoes.

Kayano was a great purchase. I have high arches. When I first tried them on I didn't feel a lot of ARCH SUPPORT, but once I had them on a few days the ARCH SUPPORT WAS AMAZING. The Gel-Kayano 28 broke in quickly and provided excellent support for my entire foot. These Kanyano feel like I'm walking on pillows! Differently worth every penny.

ASICS are the absolute best sneakers on the planet. I've tried the rest (New Balance, Saucony, Brooks), but ASICS have been the best. Also, they accommodate us folks with extra wide feet.
