I bought these, because the Bondi 7s are the most comfortable sneaker I've ever run in, but I wanted traction for hiking. I was super excited. Hoka is a great brand. However, these have a super tiny toe box. I bought my usual size that's usually huge on me, which I like, and my toes hit the front of the shoe as if they were a half size smaller. If they're that uncomfortable trying them on imagine how they'd feel after a six mile hike! I don't know where all of these five star reviews come from. I wish I hadn't bought these. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning them during the holiday season. If Bondi 7s are their most popular, why not make Bondi 7s with hiking traction. I'm so annoyed at this uncomfortable cheap looking design with five star reviews. Sticking your foot into a 1960s tupperware container would be more comfortable than this hiking shoe.

** Size is off - make sure you walk around ** I ordered my regular size 7.5 and an 8 because reviews indicated it felt small. When I initially tried them on I couldn't figure out why because at first slip-on they felt great. But when you walk in them for a bit you quickly realize the shoe is about .5 size too small. Im glad I sized up!

Looks like a great quality but unusually narrow for the usual Hoka fit

Very glad I went up half a size. Very comfortable! I’ll be wearing them to hike and will update my review. Only dislike is they do make my feet look long but bit a big deal lol

I purchased these b/c my old hikers were uncomfortable. I wanted the comfort of a sneaker with the support and grip of a good hiking shoe. These are it. No break in time and very stable. Wish it came in different colors. I ordered a half size larger and it worked well with my wool hiking socks.

These shoes felt great for about 1 month. After that I wasn't impressed. I have arthritis in my feet and neighbors recommended these expensive shoes to hike in. I started wearing these shoes March 30th '22. These pictures are what they look like this month, August. Granted my FitBit goal is 30K steps a day and I usually do more. I hike every day and live in Colorado. I hike over rocks and roots and up mountains. I had really hoped for the high price they would last longer. They are practically worthless now and do not help my feet with pain at all.

Much more heavy duty than what I needed. These are for a serious hiker. I ended up returning and going with the M-Carbon X-Speed. They also ran a tad short. May want to order 1/2 size larger.

I love how these look, and I love my Hoka Clifton's, but these don't feel anything like my Clifton's. I ordered my usual size 7.5 and my feet went all the way to the end, and the heel was tight ( I have narrow heels and I never have this problem!) I reordered these in the 8 and they are sloppy big in the front of the foot, not necessarily too long long tho. Where the leather on the side meets the nylon on the top was my problem area; they creased here and really bothered me across the top of my foot. So sad to have to look for different hiking shoes.

I have been wearing Clifton's for years and love them. They were my shoe of choice following a very painful bunionectomy years ago. I still love my Clifton's but purchased these because of the Vibram soles as I walk a rough gravel road daily. They are even more incredible than I expected them to be. I cannot feel the gravel under my feet at all and the comfort is superlative. They definitely fit more like a hiking boot/shoe and not like the running shoes which took a little getting used to. I feel like I could walk 20 miles in these shoes with no foot pain. HOKA fan for life!!

Bought these and they arrived a day before I left for Acadia National Park. I wore these babies ALL WEEK, right out of the box! They are amazingly comfortable and supportive. I was going to bring hiking boots, but these were so much lighter to pack, so I took a chance and left the old boots at home. I needn't have worried. I'd gladly recommend these to EVERYONE! I DID go up a half size, after reading reviews and needed that for the length. They were comfy with a mid-weight sock.

Overall, this is probably a good hiking shoe. It is very plush. I did not like the extended heel and the drop of the shoe. I felt I pitched forward too much and the extended heel just got in the way for me and made me feel off balance. Felt like the heel would be great to stop a bicycle like a kid - which would be jamming one heel into the ground to come to a halt while slamming the pedal down with other foot to brake. Runs a 1/2 size small. Somewhat narrower in the forefoot, so I do not think wide feet will work in this boot. Some hikers will like this unique style, but it is not for me. I chose the Hoka Tao over this boot.

I hiked in the shoes one day on my trip to Alaska. Unfortunately, it didn't fit my left foot well. Because of that I was unable to use them the rest of my trip. The good news was that I had my Bondi 6 Hokas to fall back on!!

Really like the fit and comfort. However, I ordered the Tigers Eye/Black color and it's more of a tan than the color looks online.

Hiking, walking, vacation. Super lightweight and perfect fit. Time will tell how they stand up. I bought them on the recommendation of another friend who's going on a serious trip to Patagonia.

I ordered the Anacapa in regular width (my usual size), they are a bit too narrow, and do not allow for socks other than thin. But the platform and arch support on this shoe is great. Just wish it was a tiny bit wider. Ended up ordering the Challenger in wide. Hokas all seem to be trending on the narrow side.

I loved these so much- super comfy for walking and for hiking. They definitely look LARGE on the foot if you have a petite body, but I like that look. I usually get size 5 in Hoka but got 5.5 in these so I can wear real hiking socks. Unfortunately I had to return because even in days around 50 degree weather, my feet were SWEATING. I have other pairs of goretex hikers where this is not the case, so I don't think it was because of the general issue of goretex being less breathable. I was super sad to have to return:( maybe if you have very cold feet or are hiking in the winter these would be perfect. I see they just released a non goretex breathable version so I will try those!

I really like the look of these shoes and wanted them to work but the gortex on the top is too stiff and bends in such a way that it presses on the top of the foot. Maybe it would soften up but not until they were worn for a while, I couldn't afford to wait and see.

The hiking shoes felt comfortably soft and supportive and I loved them at first. But my toes were bumping against something. Maybe the toe box just isn't deep or wide enough. The shoes were not too short, but my toes were uncomfortable. This is not a problem with my other Hokas. So sadly, I returned them. They're worth a try, though!

They were very stable.Excellent sole--great for trail hiking. But unlike my two other pairs of HOKAs they were very uncomfortable for two reasons. Tight toe box and the inside seams were rough and caused considerable discomfort. I'm referring to the elasticized material when lifting the shoe tongue. This is an excellent feature on my other HOKAs --a solid piece of elasticized, seamless mesh, but this pair the, Anacapa low GTX, is not the same material and has a rough, hard edged seam.

They caused tendinitis in my arch. They are my eighth pair , first to cause a problem. Had to get orthotics and tried unsuccessfully to get used to the shoe. Put the orthotics in an older pair and they work fine

They felt narrow and tight. I usually wear a size 10and a 1/2 in Hoka's but this shoe only was available in a size 11. In spite of the larger size it was just not comfortable. The shoe is also huge with the heel part of the sole sticking out a great deal, making an already unattractive shoe even uglier.
