How excited was I to pop these on !!! The tongue contours to the front of your ankle in a rad way - but unfortunately there are two fabric pieces holding the tongue in place that rub on the insole of my foot. I know it's just a precursor to weird blister town, so I'll be returning them. I have the suede bondis and I love them. Most comfortable shoe I own but I want a pair more for exercising and hiking. My suede ones are too precious to wear on the trail.
Hoping another style won't have the same issue. I'm here for the cushion but not the odd foot friction

Bondi 6 was the best show ever made. After the disappointing 7 that was not as cushioned as the 6 I had high hopes for the X to be a return to heaven. The cushioning is somewhere between the beloved 6 and the 7 which might have been tolerable, but the lace bite from the paper thin tongue means waiting at least another year with my old worn out bondi 6 or returning to a different brand.

I'm a nurse and at times I work 16hrs in a day. I decided to try Bondi X and I'm so glad I did. If feels like I'm walking on clouds for my whole shift. I usually have to switch out shoes during a 12hr shift of being on my feet, but with these shoes my feet don't hurt at all after 16hrs on my feet. I highly recommend the Bondi X....you will not go wrong!

I always buy and wear Hoka shoes as I walk 5-6 miles a day. I didn't care for these shoes as much as I enjoyed the other Bondis I have had in the past. They are not as kind to my feet

I run 5 miles every day. I've run in Bondi shoes for the last several years and I'm even more impressed with this shoes. It feels lighter and faster. I will definitely buy it again.

I had to tweak the shoe to make it work for my morning runs. The tongue is almost paper thin, the materials are not sturdy as before. The Bondi 6 is the better shoe, Bondi 7 is terrible and this shoe is only a step above it.

I've been wearing Bondi's for years and was expecting high hopes for the Bondi X shoe but it did not live up to my expectations. The feel was stiff and not as plush as regular Bondi and the heel compartment is big and loose even after tying the shoes for heel slippage. I do like the thinness of the tongue as it did not cut off circulation and blood flow but all in all I'll be running in my regular Bondi 7.

This is my 3rd pair of Hoka Bondi's. I agree with other reviewers that the Bondi 6 were THE BEST of this line, the 7's are not so great, and these Hoka X's are somewhere in the middle - not as great as the 6 (so great!) but better than the 7 (not as cushioning and w/less springiness). I have bad knees so I really need the cushioning and springy propulsion when I run. I tried these X's on a few treadmill runs. The cushioning is not quite as good as the 6 but the propulsion is as good as the 6, IMO. The sizing was as expected, my right foot is closer to a 9 and my left is more an 8.5, so I went w/size 9. I just tighten the laces more on the left and they're fine. Other reviews mention problems with the tongue. It's definitely different/odd, very thin and a little short, but I have not experienced any problems with it bothering me even w/low socks. Overall on a scale of 1-10 with Bondi 6 being a 10 and Bondi 7 being a 5, I would rate the Bondi X a 7.

I own 6 pairs of Bondis which I absolutely LOVE; was so excited for the X. Extremely disappointed. Oddly stiff which hasn't improved in spite of daily runs. Running in them feels cumbersome. The heel expanse is so wide that it periodically nicks the opposite ankle. Strange construction in the tongue area, and I must wear thick socks to prevent irritation. Soon to be relegated to casual wear and back to the Bondis I love.

First of all, I am not a runner or long distance walker. I needed something with decent support and cushion to wear to support my back and hips without aggravating my sciatica. These really work well for that. They are very comfortable, well cushioned, and as long as I am moving around I can wear them for hours. I will more than likely take them on trips with me where I have to do a lot of walking. The downsides are that if I have to stand still for a long period of time (doing dishes or something at my kitchen counter that takes a long time), then these aren't a whole lot better than my cushioned Skecher Go Walks or something similar. The other thing you want to be very careful of whether you run, walk, or whatever is that the heel can easily catch going down stairs. It extends out a long ways which I understand they designed it to have a purpose, but you just have to be aware of it. The only other down side is that they only come in white so far. It's very easy to get these dirty, and of course you cannot clean Hoka's as easily as you can other shoes. The cost is also quite high and while I'd like to get a second pair, I probably will not for quite some time.
I'd also recommend:
Skechers

First I love these shoes as the carbon fiber plate has allowed me to do longer distances without pain after a plantar fascia tear and over a year of being unable to walk any distance. HOWEVER the cushioning on the heels of both pairs that I have purchased in the last 8 months have worn through and now plastic is rubbing. Neither pair have cause me blisters or had any uncomfortable rubbing issues until the cushioning wears through and the internal plastic boning is exposed For the money you would expect to get more than 5-6 months out of use for walking.

After I returned the Bondi 7 for lack of plushness, the folks at Hoka suggested I try the Bondi X. I should have listened to the salesperson at the shoe store when he said there was less cushion in the Bondi X than the Bondi 7. IMHO: epic fail. There is more cushion in my Clifton 7's that I use for everyday wear than in the Bondi X and 7. Hoka: if you ever come out with a Bondi 8, please bring back the plushness of the Bondi 6.

I have purchased 5 pairs of Hoka over the past couple of years and this model is my absolute favorite. I use it for training and races too. I'm planning to get the same one again when it's time to replace them.

I am a nurse and of course I have plantar fasciitis! I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a shoe to help. I originally bought the Bondi 7 and they were great! However, due to my job changing from being a floor nurse to sitting at a desk all day I bought a cheaper shoe when I wore the Bondi 7's out. Now I am back on the floor part time and saw these and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes ever! I wear them all the time even when I'm not at work. The 12 hour shifts are a breeze with these shoes!

Absolutely love this shoe. I have the Bondi 8 and Clifton 7 and the Bondi X out does both in comfort! This is literally the best shoe I've ever owned! Feet don't hurt, no back or knee pain. Can't express how much I love this shoe!!

Hoka shoes are always great but this shoe was too narrow in the toe box for me. I bought the Bondi 8 instead. It does feel like it's a little narrower in the toe box than the Bondi 7 which I wore out too pairs of them. If you run on the road or pavement, they're a great shoe for that.

I have a hard time finding fitness shoes that don't hurt my feet. I have high arches and most fitness shoes are geared towards flat feet or low arches. So most shoes end up hurting my feet and my toes will go numb. These shoes took a few wears to break in, but they are perfect. They don't force my feet/ankles to pronate unnaturally to my gait and my toes don't go numb.

I bought this shoe to help with the pain of Hallux Rigidus (HR) and I'm so glad I did. I've only had them for a few days, but I've taken several 2 mile walks and for the first time since being diagnosed with HR, I can walk without thinking about my feet. No pain, no strange sensations, just comfort! I couldn't be happier. I guess I'm going to need to get them in every color.

I bought them for work shoes. I am on my feet most of the day. They are super comfortable. It's like walking on pillows! It takes the impact of walking on concrete away less jarring to my joints.

I feel compelled to write a review as reviews are often helpful in moving forward or away from a purchase.
I enjoy running and run rather than "race". I'm a 57 yr. old female, 145 lbs., with no issues with my feet and enjoy cushioned, neutral shoes. I was attracted by the carbon insert of the Bondi X and the reviews that touted this added a forward motion feel.
I found on an initial run with these shoes that the Bondi X does indeed create this forward motion feel that did make me jog faster - AND my knees and legs felt no tiredness or soreness whatsoever. In other words, the recovery aspect with the Bondi X was noticeable. My second run with these shoes was a 1/2 marathon. Again, the forward motion the Bondi X provides aided in my finishing this 1/2 marathon quicker than I planned. I was able to run up the hills with added oomph - and the recovery to my legs was so evident compared to my Bondi 7s. I have worn Bondi 7s for a long time now and while the cushioning is excellent, I have to admit I am feeling the Bondi X are worth the added expense for the protection to my legs/knees (recovery) and the forward motion assistance to my running gait. I want to keep running as long as I can and appreciate the quality of this shoe in helping with this goal. Thank you.

I have started a new life eating healthy and being active. I am a runner and love these shoes. They are super comfortable and keep me going without pain or tired legs. The cushion is superb but don't let it fool you, the carbon plate still gives you that extra forward push. The plate gives you just enough firmness underfoot! Despite the thick cushion, the shoes are still quite responsive when running! 95 pounds down in 8 months! I love these shoes on the treadmill or out on the pavement!
