I was so excited for this shoe to arrive based on the pictures, but when it did I couldn't have been more disappointed. The material used on the toe box is completely translucent and if you wear anything other than a grey or white sock the color shoes through and completely shows through. It drastically changes the look of these sneakers in an awful way - imagine the color of your socks in the toe box - mine had a bright green stripe that showed through - terrible! Thinking of going sockless in these? The shoes then look like a combo sandal and sneaker with an open toe box as you can see your feet through them. This is a really dumb design and now I understand when you go to their website they sell "coordinating socks!" Last point on fit - the new materials they use are not as flexible as a mesh so there's not a lot of room for the side of your feet to expand - I felt like was bound in the shoes and took my normal size. VERY disappointing design from a great company. I returned them immediately

I love my first pair of On running shoes and didn’t hesitate buying another to replace them. Got these primarily due to color/style. Agree with other reviews that the material is odd and is translucent. But in addition, clearly these were not field tested with ankle height running socks. This pic shows my ankles following my first run. The tongue edges gave me paper cut-like slices across both ankles. Definitely disappointing and definitely returning these!

I didn’t love the top part of the show that was see-through. I don’t need to see the Nike swoosh on my sock. I thought it was a bit weird…so i returned them. Wish the shoes didn’t have that- i loved the colors.

Was skeptical that these lightweight shoe wouldn’t provide enough support, being that I’m 6’ and weigh 230lbs and I have a high instep and wide foot. On Running didn’t let me down, they are fantastic, they fit true to size, width is great and the shoe looks marvelous. Anyone worried about your socks showing through the shoe, stop worrying. Can you tell what color sock you have on, barely, it doesn’t affect the overall feel or look of the shoe (first world struggles). This is a great shoe, even for big guys. The only “complaint” I would have is that the tongue is a little long, not a real problem.

I guess they’re trying to make this a very light shoe which it is. However there is no arch support and no cushioning around the ankle and tongue. Also no bounce in the sole. I feel like I’m walking on cement with barefeet. I guess because everything is made to be so light but it feels like very cheap plasticky materials.

Gave them a test drive today before the gym. So far very comfortable. Will see how they hold up after a week of use and exercise

Great running shoe. Lots of complaints about the translucent top. It's pretty much transparent. You can see toes and toenails. Didn't take away from the shoe though. I would never wear them barefoot anyway. Great shoe. Very lightweight. True to color. Real nice looking.

The shoe fit just as designed and my other ON shoes. I like the translucent toe cap and find the extreme cushion and light weight. Highly recommend this show. I get so many compliments on the color scheme and look.
