I'm a bit disappointed that the women's bag is so much smaller than the men's borealis. I bought this for my daughter to use for school. My son has the same bag but for men. It fits everything perfectly. So we thought this would work for my daughter. I know I should have looked closer at the measurements. But women have just as much stuff if not more than men. We don't need smaller bags.
Also, the layout of the accessory pickets in the front are not ideal. They are at the top. When full, it impedes placing items in the large main pocket. It also makes the backpack top heavy and bulky-disproportionate to the bottom part of the bag. She already carried it to school or I would return. Overall, I would not recommend and I would not repurchase.

It's durable and looks nice, but it doesn't zip all the way when I store my 15" laptop in the laptop compartment. Then when I fill the accessory compartment, and put my glasses in the hidden front pocket, it makes the top portion of the pack too "fat". This top part constricts the whole pack, so I can't fill the next compartment. Overall the pack feels too tight. I'm a little underwhelmed.

My girls had a Borealis Backpack for school. The first one is still in great shape but it was white. It got too dirty to clean any more, therefore needed to replace with another one. Thought I bought the same one but this version is smaller. Get the Borealis version, its bigger, NOT the Women's Borealis if you need it for school. School Stuff barely fits in this backpack, can't add any additional things like sweatshirt or even bigger water bottle, or lunchbox. You can in the Borealis version. No space at all in the Women's version. Very disappointed that it wasn't more clear in the description. Not sure why NorthFace has two different backpack sizes with same name. They should have named it something else, not Women's Borealis. Very upset and disappointed about the difference. That's a lot of money thrown out of the window when these are supposed to last through High School and College. The 2nd one we got a year later has torn shoulder straps after 3 years of usage. Looks like the newer versions quality keeps getting worst. :(

I use this for school and there is not quite enough room for all of my books, it could be a bit wider.

When it arrived it was deformed on the back & years later they still won't fix it. Horrible customer service, nobody is willing to help or fix their mistakes. I won't buy from North Face again!

My daughter loves her new backpack for high school. So great to have the laptop sleeve to protect her device. The only thing we wish is that the side water bottle pockets were slightly bigger because it is a super tight squeeze to fit a large hydro flask bottle in once her backpack is full. I do have to give North Face a huge shout out for standing by their products, honoring life time warranty and excellent customer service. Her previous backpack had a rip in the side mesh so we sent it back for repair. They let us know that they no longer carry that style backpack and emailed a gift card to purchase a new one! You get what you pay for and we will continue to buy NF for this reason. Thank you!

I use this bag for school and it is perfect because it fits all of my textbooks, necessities, and has a protective barrier for my laptop! It is also perfect for hiking, and has a nice pocket that holds my large water bottle!

It's smaller compared to the regular Borealis backpack. So i'd say if you are not an adult this bad could work otherwise it feels a bit tight.

I wish I could like this backpack, but the pockets are up high. When you put stuff in them, it causes the backpack to tip over. Frustrating......

I have this as a backpack and I love it. I am still in high school and I honestly couldn't want a better bag. In my opinion it is a little small for all the stuff I had but not too bad. I love the look of it, the skinny cute bag is so nice and i love the light blue on gray. The side pockets are a bit small for all water bottles but most of the time i don't have a hard time pushing my bottles in. The wire on the side though makes it hard sometimes but u just have to make sure you press down and not out.

I was looking for a backpack that would be big enough to replace a carry on bag, but small enough to carry daily while out exploring when traveling. This is the perfect size. The storage pockets and divided interior makes it easy to stay organized when on the go. I am incredibly happy with this purchase.

This will be my carry-on suitcase for upcoming trip to Croatia this May 2025. My niece and brother have this and I wanted one. It has the straps to hook up in front of u so that it will not slide off while walking all day. I also like all the different compartments. Very well made. I got the grey instead of the black color as it was on sale this Feb. 2025. I will wash it and take care of it. thank you.
