The sole is very well cushioned and gives a 'springy, bouncey feel' under your heel. I make deliveries and walk a lot - this shoe keeps my foot comfortable and my legs from getting sore after a long day of walking, jumping and stair climbing. I love it.

The new 23 does not provide the same spacious comfort in the toe box as did my gel cumulus 20. I had to send them back and did so without any problem.

The shoe continues the tradition in its feel. The good news is not needing to go a half size larger as they seem to be better fitted and truer to shoe size.

These are such cool shoes that I really wanted to like them. But I don't. They don't have a proper tongue, just stretchy fabric that doesn't allow enough room for me to get my foot in the shoe.

So this pair of new Cumulus 23 uses padded upper ankle and an elastic stretch material for the upper tongue to help keep your foot into position. I found myself breaking these in and finding it ackward, keeping the laces to loose let my toes/foot rub and to tight caused soreness on the top of my foot. My main problem was some inconsistency in the soles on the ball of my left foot, which was noticeable when trying on. I thought I would try to break the shoes in but the left sole I had issue with. I have bought Asics for the last 10 years (with the Cumulus line specifically) and never had a problem like this. I cannot buy these again.

I have bought the Gel Cumulus sneakers for years and each generation has provided that same fit and feel which I have loved. This is the first year where they have radically changed the design and they now feel like a completely new line of shoes. They have eliminated the traditional free moving tongue on the shoe and replaced it with single "elastic sock". The shoe now feels much tighter particularly around the toes, imparts less support, and is less breathable than before. Pessimistically it seems like this change is either made for style or for cheaper manufacturing costs. Regardless I was incredibly disappointed and returned the shoes. I will have to try and obtain the older versions or go into a store for the first time in years and find a new brand. I am disappointed that ASICS radically changed the design of the shoe while still calling it GEL-Cumulus. They should have started a new line when they radically the shoe.

this shoe is not as advertised by asics. i was looking for a shoe with a lot of padding in the heel area as i land i my heel first. the shoe is very light with little or no padding in the heel. i jog slow and weigh 200 lbs so coming down straight on the heel really jars the body. they are also advertised with a taller heel and lower front but the shoe sits totally flat. it looks nothing like the shoe in the picture.

Purchased asics cumulus 23 and were a little tight for size. However for price point and comfort level. They were a bargain

These work great for my stride. Every time I get a new pair they feel so comfortable and cushioned. I generally use a new set when embarking on an ultra.

Always liked ASICS, this shoe is spectacular. I use the nimbus also but the gel cumulus 22 is my favorite now. Great feel, great response while working out!!!

The neutral position and cushioning are ideal for my foot, haven't changed since I became a Cumulus devotee. Sock fit keeps the rocks and debris out, great shoe.

I can't comment too much on these as they were purchased for my son to run cross country. They were his first pair of true running shoes and he enjoyed running in them.

I've been a lifelong Nike guy, and never considered another brand. I tried the Ascis GC-23, and have been a believer ever since! The cushy softness, just the right amount of support in the heelbox, wide toebox, and rain-friendly material all make running fun again. Just be sure and order a half-size up, and you'll LOVE this shoe!
