Let me start by saying how much I love Danner - I have the mountain boots and but a lot of wear and miles on them. I was excited to see a nimble, more desert warm weather hiker here to try out. I am frequently hiking in AZ and southern Utah and liked the idea of something a bit lighter so ordered these to try. Outside of this one issue I really liked the shoe. The color transition on the shoe creates a seam on the inside of the shoe that was rubbing up on my foot just walking around the house in these. I could tell that it would cause some pretty major irritation or blisters if it was already uncomfortable just putting it on. Needless to say, that was pretty disappointing and I had to return these.

Great shoe, unique look! I bought this exact shoe from the Danner site. Loved the shoe so much that I wanted a second pair to set aside for the future! Shoe is solid - very well built - Not too heavy. I’m a 7 and the 7 fit me very well - slightly snug (not tight) - will break in quickly but probably not ideal if you’re borderline wide. The tongue is one-piece, “slide-on” which I overlooked, but I had no issue getting my feet in. Many compliments on the color scheme. These are keepers. Price on the high side, but quality is there, so no worries!

These shoes are light weight, durable, and breathable. Great for walking in town and on the trail. I have knee and back pain, as a result I need supportive, comfortable shoes and these check all of the boxes.

True to size. I read the reviews and some people commented about the neoprene “sock” around the ankles being a bit tight or making it hard to put the shoe on. I will say when I first put them on it felt a little snug, but the shoe bed was so comfortable I decided to give them a try. After walking in them I actually really love the “sock” feature. It keeps dirt and bits of gravel from getting in the shoe when you’re on trails and it provides a bit of extra support. For those who think it’s difficult to get the shoe on due to the sock feature (it’s really not) I recommend a shoe horn. Not necessary by any means but it does make putting them on easier and has the added benefit of keeping the heel/back of your shoe from wearing down or losing shape. I would defiantly recommend these shoes they are exceptionally comfortable and I LOVE the color.

I’ve owned these shoes for almost three years and they are exceptionally comfortable. I have used them for hikes on hills and walks on concrete. They are a good blend of sturdiness with flexibility.

I have very narrow feet and bought these because the reviews said they ran narrow. They are still a bit wide at the top of my foot, but will work with thicker socks. The only thing I don't love is that the shoe runs up high on the foot. I feel like the shoe is more flexible when the tongue is lower on the foot. I am a huge fan of Vibram and also buy Vibram exclusively for any surface that is not flat. I am going to Egypt and though these shoes would do well with the terrain out in the dessert. And they look great and feel great.

Nice shoe and very comfortable. Luckily I bought them for knock around shoes. Not enough support thru the toebox for me to wear on trails.

Fantastic I purchased for light hiking, but wear them to work. Im a Nurse on my feet 10+ hours per day, zero break in and great for my wide duck feet.

I really like the shoe, but after only a few weeks of wear and a few easy to moderate trail hikes, the heal is separating. Very disappointing for less than one month of wear.

I love these shoes for hiking in the PNW! They broke in quickly, are soft under my feet, and seem to be stable on all sorts of terrain. I have a wide mid foot so the shoe having no tongue is more difficult to get my foot into than other shoes but it seems to be fine once I have worn the shoes a few times.

Love the color and construction. The heel feels a little off for me, but I haven't tried adding any insole.

The shoe is excellent and walks well, and is quite stable. The only reason I didn't give it a five star review is because the tongue is affixed and it is a little difficult to put on. Once on, it fits well.

These shoes are awesome! I have a really hard time finding comfortable shoes because of a bunion. I normally wear a 7.5 wide , bought an 8 for extra width & they fit perfect. I wear a thin Wrightsocks no blister and they are so comfortable right out of the box. They are tough to get on but well worth the trouble if you need a shoe for uneven surfaces. I plan to hike in Israel with them.

Best hiking shoes Ive owned. Great foot stability and completely waterproof. Can stand all day in them while not hiking too! Convinced my husband to buy a pair as well. He also loves his.

To my disappointment I have to return these. I read other review before buying and others mentioned the tight neoprene like sock fit around the top of the shoe. Now I get it! Too tight. I have thin feet and ankles and after wearing them around in the house I knew there was no way I could walk far, let alone hike in these. They sawed at my ankle bones and I know I would have a blister in no time. The shoes apprear to be made well and they are cute as can be but not a good fit for me. I have 2 other pairs of Danners and I LOVE THEM. Oh well, at least I tried them!

These were comfortable except the area under my ankle felt too high and hard and was digging in. I know I would avoid wearing them, so I am returning them and will try a different style.

I love Danners and was just disappointed. I simply could not get them on and off due to the "sock" like fitting instead of a tongue. If the sock wasn't so tight maybe it would be better. If you have trouble with the hook and eye or that area of your ankle getting blisters you would probably appreciate the feature. Colors were great. Lightweight but made for rugged trails.

I really wanted to like these but don't like the built-in sock that they had. They were super comfy right when I put them on and were comfy to walk in, but I sat down in them for a few minutes and the built-on sock got real tight around my foot. It almost cut off circulation to my feet. I'm not sure if you're supposed to wear them without socks? Or with full socks? I have very narrow ankles and was wearing ankle socks, but these would not be comfy if you had to sit in them for a long time. I was getting these for a trip where we'd be driving a bunch and I don't think they'd be comfy after a while. Maybe they'd stretch out? Bummer because they seemed like great hiking/trail shoes.

I really wanted to like these. I currently have Oboz hiking shoes which fit perfectly, but are too heavy. These Danner's are super lightweight which is just what I wanted. But the tongue is attached to the rest of the shoe and rubs in a weird way. It's also a narrow shoe... in the heel! The bed liner is very narrow around the heel and sticks up just enough that it puts pressure on the bottom of my feet. Not removable either to try with a different insert.

Horribly uncomfortable. They are very difficult to get on and rub and scratch right at my ankle bones. I foresee horrible blisters after a day of hiking with these. They look cute, but I would steer clear
