You could not make a better hat for fishing in the rain. It keeps me 100% dry and not to hot like other plastic/rubber style hats. I would recommend to others.

Purchased this item for 14 day trip to Italy ~ Perfect for Rome, Florence, Venice with Road Scholar. Best investment for both rain, and sun while walking, and riding vaporetto. Will be cherished for more trips to come. Folds neatly into backpack, too!

This hat works great for both my wife and I. We purchased two before heading to Costa Rica. 7 days of rain and the hat performed great. One of our tour guides wanted one for himself. Thumbs up.

Bought this after I saw it featured in Backpacker Mag. Haven't given it much use yet, but it fits good with good size adjustablity and is pretty lightweight.

Good sun and rain protection. Reflective details are a plus for low light.
If its really windy the neck cape will flip up. Hasn't been a problem yet, but is annoying.

Solid Rain Hat! I I really like the folding brim, because I can just put it in a pocket or pack when I don't need Rain or sun protection. Once the sun peeks out or the rain start it's quick and easy to deploy.

I bought this to replace my beloved Offshore Water hat that was somehow lost and is now discontinued. While it's not been out on the water yet, the hat looks great and is very adjustable. I'm hoping the wider brim doesn't catch the wind, and will see if the string tie works as well and is as comfortable as the chin strap. Sunday Afternoons are the best!

I have a few Adventure Hats, so thought I would try the Ultra. I like that it folds down, and the glasses holder is great. But honestly, I usually pull out the Adventure Hat most days.

Love the style, but the neck strap tightener was prob broken and hard to use. Not like the ones on my other Sunday Afternoon hats. Too much of a hassle to return.

I LOVE Sunday Afternoons hats, have several, but this time I am not fond of the hat. The color looks like tan online, but it is more gray than tan. Ok, I am not pleased with the color but can live with it. However the chin strap this time is just a rubbery piece that slides up and down, not the plastic piece pictured that allows one to squeeze it and adjust it up or down. Is it defective or a new less-desirable design? Not sure but it seems prone to wearing out.

Don't remember when I bought, 10+ years ago(?) the original "Cloudburst Rain Hat", but it served me well until it didn't - no longer rain proof.
This hat is barely doable as what happened to the really long neck flap? And the slide on the chin strap? This new one is not an easy adjustment.
But! I will say the front brim design is a nice improvement. The material construction is way lighter then the old Cloudburst, but guessing that is due to advancements in materials.
I've been out in a decent downpour- no wind - for about 45 minutes. And yes it kept my head dry. So, yes I will keep and wear it as there really isn't a better option out there. If I lose it or wear it out, yeah I'll buy another one.
Recommendation: Coming from a "Cloudburst Hat" I think you'll be disappointed.
But as a first time buyer I think you'll really like it.

another well-made, high quality product from my favorite hat company! i REALLY like the heavier-duty feel of this hat... but sooo sadly, the smaller sized brim & neck-flap are not enough coverage for my taste. i much prefer the coverage levels of the traditional adventure hat & would have preferred the same dimensions be utilized with this all-weather version. alas, not all dreams can come true & i will simply continue to wear my other adventure hats come rain or shine!

I love the Sundancer hat but because I wear expensive hearing aids that can't get wet I ordered this one as well.
I am so disappointed!
The brim is narrower and the cape in the back isn't as long nor as wide. If the rain is falling vertically then, maybe, it would be OK. But if the rain is blowing from in front or the sides e.g. on a windy blustery day, as is often the case, this hat won't provide the protection I need.

I took this on a 2 week trip in Alaska and after a full day of rain my head was definitely wet. The materials on the inside don't dry out that quickly either. I think for short periods of rain it would do ok, but it doesn't stand up to a full deluge.

This hat is da bomb! Stylish, functional, lightweight and protective. This is my third one. Love the color choices and thoughtful features like the reflective stripe and lightweight chin strap.
