This is my first pair of Danskos. For reference, I typically wear a size 7 and although my feet are on the wider side, regular width shoes will usually fit me just fine, with the exception of pointy toes and other generally skinny/narrow styles. Based on other reviewers’ reports that these shoes run large, I ordered both a 37 (usual size) and a 36 for comparison. The toe box is roomy, which I like, and both sizes fit me well in the toe area. The ankle strap is adjustable, but only to an extent. I have “sturdy” ankles, and even I find the ankle strap to be a bit loose on its tightest setting. The smaller size 36 fit a little better around my ankles, however, the footbed on the 36 was a bit too short for me. The length on the 37 is a perfect fit. I ended up keeping the 37 (my usual size) and returning the smaller size, even though the ankle strap isn’t a perfect fit. After wearing them around for a bit, I found I actually like the slightly looser positioning of the ankle strap — it secures the shoe without rubbing or digging in. These shoes are lightweight, comfortable, and well made. I live in the city and walk a LOT, so I need shoes that are comfy and durable. I’m confident these will do the job, plus they’re pretty cute!

This is a very cute shoe. I felt it was 1/2 to whole size larger. Normally wear 40 and this felt a little big. And I might might not have minded except I have small ankles and I had to pull the Velcro strap far beyond where the strap should go. The shoe is very comfortable however I don’t think it’s meant to wear for an 8 hour shift on your feet. It’s has a nice wide to box but not enough support for a work shoe. So as much as I wanted to keep this shoe I had to send it back. I did reorder in a 39 and fits perfect but since I wanted it for work I really don’t think there’s enough support for me to keep. I am older so 30 years ago these would be great!!My old body needs a little more support.

This is for chubby feet only!!! There is a lot of height to this shoe, my slim feet were swimming in these. Too bad, cute style

I’m so sad these shoes didn’t work. They are really cute and toe space was perfect for me. But the strap was too loose and made the shoe feel floppy. The back strap didn’t even touch my foot even though it was the perfect length and I have bigger ankles. The arch also dug into the side of my foot and I didn’t think I could deal with that long enough to try and break it in.

The fit is great! I love these shoes they are a great pair of every day shoes but can still be sophisticated

These are darling shoes, but didn't work for my narrow forefoot. I really wanted them, but will just have to wear my other Danskos.

Extremely comfortable and very cute! I needed a closed toe shoe to wear to work that was comfortable yet stylish. I can wear these with pants or a dress. I have arthritis in my back (I’m only in my 40s-thanks nursing career!) and regular flats just don’t work anymore. These are going to be my new go-to. The strap is adjustable, plenty of room in the toe box and a supportive arch and heel. The only minor problem, is a little bit of rubbing on the outer foot from the toe insert. I think it’s only an issue if you’re doing a lot of walking in them, but I think once they’re broken in, it won’t be a problem.

These shoes are so comfortable it's like being barefoot with a little support! The toe box is roomy, so it might not suit narrow feet. My feet are medium to medium-wide, and I hate my shoes pressing on my foot in any way, and these are perfect. Plus, they are perfect for sight-seeing all day and then wearing out to dinner or with a skirt. As I've reached middle age, I find that my feet benefit from more supportive shoes, and these are supportive without being orthopedic-looking.

I got 7.5-8 or Euro 38 for my 7.5 size, medium width, average medial arch, low volume/low instep feet. Size fit well. The main problem was that the ankle strap was too long and did not hold my feet in. See photo where I could fit 2 fingers under the ankle strap. I was able to loop the strap around the ankle strap 1x then attach the hook and loop (see Photo 2) but I'm not confident it will hold when I actually use the shoe so I will sadly likely return it. Suggestion for Dansko: using a buckle would give more adjustability.

i LOVE these shoes! I got them for a clinical rotation to wear with business casual. They are so comfortable, and the leather is so soft inside the shoe and on the footbed. They look super cute with both pants and dresses, and I look forward to wearing these. I am not on my feet all day, but I think these would be comfortable even if I was. My only complaint is that they are kind of a pain to get on and off; on one of the shoes the velcro closure kind of "sticks" when I try to get it out of the loop whereas the other doesn't. It's a really minor issue though. I want to order these in more colors I like them so much! The taupe color is really pretty and versatile--kind of a greyish taupe that can work with warm or cool toned clothes. I will say the sizing was a bit of an issue. I originally ordered a 39 because I am solidly an 8.5-9 in shoes, though I do wear a 40 in other brands with European sizing, like Ecco. I followed the sizing guide here; however, I found the 39 to be very tight, and my heel was almost falling off the back. I have a fairly wide foot so usually if I'm wearing my size and a shoe is too small, it's the width and not the length. In this case it was just all around too small. I ordered the 40 and almost didn't keep them because I felt like they were too big and would slide around too much as I walked. After wearing them for a few months, I can say they do slide around a bit but it doesn't bother me whatsoever (and I am very sensitive to discomfort). If you are in between sizes, I would suggest going up, or just order both sizes and utilize Zappos' fantastic return policy to get the best fit. The toe box is nice and wide, and my arch feels really good in these. Overall, I highly recommend!

Great combination of attractive and comfortable. Had foot surgery and now trouble buying shoes but these are perfect - I bought in all 3 colors. Get compliments all the time. Red is a real red - very classy.

The length of the shoe is correct but I think it is a shoe for people with more meat on their bones. I could put two fingers in the gap between the top of the shoe and my foot. I have long skinny feet and love Dansko brand, but this shoe is not made for a skinny top foot.

While I love the look and quality of these DANSK shoes, I am disappointed that consideration of fit for high arches was not considered (certainly an issue w/ many Dansk customers)—if the strap were designed with just another inch of Velcro, they would be perfect for high arches

With European sizing if you are in between sizes I would order down. I am a 7.5 so the 37 fit, the 38 was very very loose. Great style and love the toe coverings for spring time.

Love. love. These are my go to dress shoes - I wear them with business dresses and dressy dresses for occasions where I can't wear my birks. Would love it if these came in red too!

The fit and comfort were great- I usually wear a size 40, and these fit well. The leather is soft and rich looking. This is the 4th pair of Danskos I have bought with this footbed-the cork/ Neoprene construction offers a lot of support and comfort- plus they are so cute, and make my 69 year old feet feel young again!

I was really sad to have to return these. I’ve been looking for something with this style for a long time and had high hopes. However, they were so wide that my foot slipped around.

These are very cute shoes and are very comfortable. I have flat feet and often have a hard time finding comfortable dress shoes. So I was pleasantly surprised with these. I can see myself wearing them often.

Great shoe! I have the black pair as well, but with the holidays coming up, I decided on getting the red pair. Very comfortable and ture to size. Good to go right out of the box. No breaking in period.

I usually wear a 9.5 shoe. These Danskos come in European sizing and only had the 8.5-9(39) available. Other reviewers said they ran big though, so I tried them. They fit great! The toe box is not too big for my foot and the ankle strap fit perfectly too (other reviewers complained about that). They are really comfortable, even for my right foot that overpronates. I usually need vionics or other orthopedic shoes. But these Danskos feel comfortable and supportive.

I almost always wear a 40 in Dansko and was surprised to need to the 39. The shoe is lightweight and easy to wear. I am buying a second color now!

I usually wear size 40 in Dansko. Ordered size 39 based on reviews but that was too large. Ended up ordering 38 directly from Dansko and that was too short. Nice shoes though. I really wish they had fit.

I love these shoe but returned them because of the color. It is not navy blue but more if a royal blue.

These literally just arrived moments ago and I just ordered a second pair!! They are perfect! Comfortable for my bad knees and hips, and feminine! Anyone who shops for ortho shoes knows those two words never go together lol! The toe box is nice and wide- length is true to size. Those with wider ankles may have an issue with the strap as it’s not super long, but it works for me. I highly recommend these!!
