I normally wear a 39 in regular dance shoes. This is my second pair of Kanes and I wear a 38. They are very comfortable. I have hallux limitus and this gives the support I need. I'm a nurse and these shoes are the only ones I wear for my long days.

I work 12-hour shifts at a hospital in a very busy unit. I am on my feet most of those 12 hours and moving constantly, so superb support is needed. Below are the factors that I have to take into consideration based on personal needs when choosing a work shoe. These may help others make a decision on whether or not to choose this shoe. 1. High arch (support needed) 2. High instep (see #1) 3. Cannot wear anything with backs due to ankle chafing 4. Heavy on my heels, so extra support there is needed 5. Sturdy but lightweight shoe / nonslip 6. Must accommodate a wider foot comfortably I have a pair of regular Dansko clogs. They are pretty heavy, and I definitely feel sore after being on them for 12 hours even though they do help with posture / pronation. They are definitely not the one-shoe-fits-all that everyone claims they are. I’ve resorted to wearing crocs on some of the days I work just to give my feet a break from the Dansko clogs, but they lack firm heel support so I can’t wear them all the time. With that in mind, these Dansko Kane’s stuck out to me since they seemed to be a crocs-Dansko clog hybrid of some sort. They seemed like they would have good heel support and a nurse I know spoke highly of them. After wearing them for a good couple weeks, these are my thoughts : The clogs are pretty comfortable. However, they began to “squeak” terribly about 2 shifts into wearing. I’ve always heard that a squeaking shoe (more like the sound of a duck quacking every time I walk) indicates that a shoe is not well-made. The comfort or support level has not decreased so I don’t know about that, and the noise happens every time I come down on my heels, so it may simply be that it happens for those who walk heavily on their heels. The shoes are narrow, so those with wider feet beware. I have semi-wide feet so these are still okay for me. Those with a higher instep, beware. Dansko shoes are known for a tight instep, so definitely do not get these if yours is high. After a few hours on these shoes, I definitely feel the pressure on the top of my feet. The shoes fit pretty snugly, so thicker socks will not do well especially if you have a higher instep! Not sure if they were made to be worn barefoot, but I wear extremely thin socks with them. If you lean toward pronation, the band will rub the inner parts of your feet raw very quickly. I have to put a barrier there when I get to work to avoid this. My feet do not slip and slide around in the shoes, so that is a major plus. These run true to size. There you have it. I know this was a long review, but I wanted to cover everything to help anyone out who may have some or all of the same criteria for shoes when it comes to working long hours on your feet. I love the durability, overall comfort and support that these provide as well as how lightweight they are compared to the original clogs, but the deal breaker is the awful noise they make when I walk. For me, that seals the deal and I will not be purchasing any more pairs for this reason. These did not exceed my expectations by any means, but they are a nice break from heavy clogs. They are definitely better than crocs in the support category, but probably not as beneficial or supportive long term as the original Dansko clogs. These would be perfect for light use, but do not hold up exceptionally well for long shifts and lots of walking in my humble opinion. With a few tweaks, these could be perfect so maybe there will be an updated version in the future. Hopefully This review has helped someone make an informed decision!

I really like the look of these shoes! However, the comfort is terrible and my feet are aching --all over aches, on top, side, and bottom of feet!--and only after a few hours at work. So--this is a big bummer. I really loved the idea of wearing these in the OR, but they are as bad or worse than Crocs as far as comfort and support.

Love these! I bought for working in the kitchen as I have a tile floor over cement and my legs and feet get tired when cooking. These really help with fatigue and I loved them so much I bought a second pair.

I’ve bought Dansko’s Kane’s in Yellow (I had no idea how happy I could be until I started wearing yellow shoes!!! Everyone asks me where I found them!) as well as in Fuchsia (flippin’ gorgeous!) and in Black (with violet insoles) and I literally live in them. They are even more comfortable then Birkenstocks! So much delicious cushioning plus great arch support, toe room I want more colors (like Red, Denim Blue, and a second pair of Yellow – please don’t stop selling them – plus how about Violet, Persian Blue, Bright Cantaloupe Orange, and Grass Green?) I’ve noticed that the subdued colors – Back and Brown and Tan and Grey shoes always take the longest to sell out. Maybe Dansko’s should take notice: bright cheerfully colorful shoes make people happy! These shoes are magic cures for unhappy feet. They hug your perfectly aligned feet in cushiony comfort. One note about sizing: I have always bought size 41 in Birkenstocks, which translates to a size 10 in U.S. women’s shoes. Dansko’s conversion from U.S. women’s 10 is to a size 40, which they consider equivalent to a U.S. women’s shoe size 9.5-10. And they are right about that!

I used to wear crocs at work but I can’t anymore because they make my feet hurt. I’ve been trying different shoes and I tried these thinking you can change the insole on them. These are way lighter than regular dansko and the support is great! If you’re on your feet all day and can’t find a good shoe or crocs don’t work for you, then try these…. I’m so happy! I thought I had plantar fasciitis…. But after these shoes my foot pain went away

I bought these as house shoes cause I have flat feet and needed something that would work all year. Best purchase I’ve made. I love them. They are so comfortable and supportive. I bought the yellow, so sometimes I can look like I’m Mickey Mouse. But they are fun and bring me joy. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable. I love these shoes. The only negative is your feet do not breathe, yet I have cold feet all the time so it is not a problem. The positives outweigh the one negative.

These fit perfectly and have fantastic arch support. This is the third pair I have bought from Zappos. I liked them so much that I am buying them in different colors so I can wear them with other outfits. My knee and lower back no longer hurt.

I love them. They fit my feet perfectly. Have good arch support. The best part is I no longer have knee pain and can walk as long as I want. I've gotten to wearing them all day long. I will order other colors. I was not sure about them after a friend recommended them. But I tried them and will order more. Anyone with knee or back pain should try them.

I rate these ten stars one for each finger. I bought the white pair and liked them so much I am waiting on the black pair. They are so comfortable one of the best purchases I have ever made on Zappos. I love these clogs. ?? they also run true to size for me.

I have worn Danskos since medical school (1999.) I recently experimented with some other good work shoes from Calzuro and Oofos. I have enjoyed the lighter weight options and the vented foot beds. Now, Dansko has caught up with my new list of requirements. These are lightweight, supportive (with a little bounce,) vented, and super comfortable for my 24 hour OBGYN Hospitalist shifts. I have an 8.5-9 foot, but have always worn 40s in Dansko. I hope to see some more colors soon.

LOve these!! As do most of my co-workers! I expect you’ll be getting more orders for them along the way! Light and comfy. I work in the OR and stand for many many hours. Lately my feet have been killing me, hence the switch to the lighter shoes! They’ve been fantastic on my weary feet! ThankYou for starting this line, Dansko! Came in the mail wicked fast, too!

Love these new Kane non leather clogs - the footbed is very comfortable and plenty of arch support. I have many pairs of Dansko and highly recommend this clog. Plus they are light weight.

I wanted to be able to slip my feet into these adorable clogs and wear them all spring and summer - but I had to send them back, because they were too narrow. They scraped up against the sides of my feet and were so tight I had to stop trying to talk myself into thinking they'd loosen up if only I wore them around the house another day.

Bought these shoes for the O.R. They look more professional than my old Crocs. Easy to get in and out of if U typically use socks at the Da Vinci console. Comfortable enough to stand for hours for laparoscopies or open cases. Beautiful iridescent black (looks like dark shiny navy blue) that can hide stains if necessary. For reference, I wear 8 in sandals and flip flops and 9 in Nike running shoes; these Dansko US size 7.5-8 or EU size 38 fit me better than the 39 I had anticipated. I usually do not like Dansko because I find them too hard but these are comfortable enough for surgery and I decided to buy the Jade also for wearing out of the hospital. Would have given 5 stars if a little softer.

I have several Dansko, so I was willing to try out EVA (basically plastic) clog. It's kind of stiff, hard to wear socks with (if you live in an area where it's still a little cool in May-June), the color is brighter than expected, I don't like the white sole because they get dirty really easy ... but still think they are cute enough I will wear them throughout the summer. IMO they are overpriced for the quality.

Cute shoe. They feel like they would be water repellent but not sure they are. Very lightweight, not heavy like a lot of Dansko clogs. My foot felt comfortable inside the clog and I was surprised how they just stayed on my foot without curling my toes for grip. But they are a stiff clog and that became uncomfortable for me after wearing awhile around the house. Appreciate ZAPPOS allowing me to return for free!

I have 1 pair of Dansko's and keep hoping AND trying on Danskos....but they don't fit OR I am inbetween the European Sizes!! This is a great shoe for staying at home: Except it is a little too much volume for my foot. But....with socks it is TOO tight. I have High Arches and a High Instep: but there is SO much EXTRA room (between the top of my instep and Dansko Kane) that I slip too far forward!! I did try 2 sizes. Oh well....back they go.

I like these, they fit fairly well, and I actually put a better insert in them (PowerStep arch support). I wanted them for gardening or quick trips out to the yard to cut herbs, take the dog out, quick run to the corner store in the rain, but the sad fact is that the material makes them SO WARM that even in winter my feet sweat like crazy in these, so their use will be limited to winter time only. Can't even imagine putting these on in summer in the sun.

I got these for Christmas and have been wearing them for 3 days inside the house only and this is the wear. I’m a little hard on shoes but these clearly dont hold up. Even just the creases from walking ruin the look. Functionally they are okay as my house slippers. I’m happy with them being lightweight with a comfy footbed and I can go outside if I need to. But wanted to warn prospective buyers!
