Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v6

New NB Hierro V6 replaces a V5 pair bought 1 year ago. I compared new to old and they are very similar but the V6 is easier to get on/off and to adjust laces/tongue. Same pattern on the Vibram sole, same Fresh Foam comfort and rise - essentially the same feel in the sole, midsole and heel. Same shape in the toe box, same low/medium arch support, same heel stabilizer and collar, same removable insole. The upper has changed: V6 has single layer fabric with visible vent holes at the toe (V5 was 2 layers w/ no obvious vents). V6 has a less restrictive interior bootie which stops just behind the arch (V5 bootie continued behind the arch with more fabric). V6 has shoelace holes (V5 had fabric tabs). V6 has regular style tongue (V5 had outer side of tongue incorporated with the side panel). I bought both pairs for the Vibram soles to cope with our chip/seal asphalt and gravel roads - they tear into and abrade away softer soles in a few weeks/months, especially with high summer temperatures. My V5s were not used for long distances but the lugs held up to the tough roads - they will become my around the house shoes. The new V6s are truly supportive - when I tried on one from each pair, I could feel how much structure and comfort the new V6 Fresh Foam had and how much more energy return. The V5s must have been that way new, but after 1 year of carrying my substantial weight they probably compressed about half what the new ones are. Really pleased with NB Hierro - bought a pair for my spouse too!

I always wear a 9W in New Balance shoes, and these do feel a tad narrower than my other styles, but not enough to make them uncomfortable unless I'm on my feet all day. They do hug my feet snuggly and I imagine they will be great for trail running but the only run do is the beer and groceries one.

Although I ordered the same size and width I always have in New Balance; the shoe is so narrow that I will return these.

Great comfy fit. I was training for a marathon and sometimes had to do it around a gravely lake so this was awesome to do distance in and have good support!

I wear a 9.5 in Nike shoes and a 10 in these fit me perfectly. I find that most shoe brands I wear a 10, but most of my shoes are nike. These NB are comfortable right out of the box with lots of cushion and great grip on the soles. I have a very narrow foot and the B width fits me great, although someone with a wide foot, or possibly even a normal width would want to order the wide version of this shoe to avoid being squeezed across the instep.

Great sneakers and good fit... the Wide in this style is not as wide as other sneakers I have had - Abeo, Brooks, etc. - but it is wide enough for me. Feels very supportive - especially in the arch and heel and I have high arches.

I just wish they had more cushioning. My feet love cushioning. I do however I like We’re they tie. Up on the ankle and not on the foot. I just hope they last more then 4 months. Love to walk, work n the garden etc, etc.

Toebox is nice and wide but oddly very low… Toes were smashed up against the top of the shoe. Never had that experience before!

Exactly what I was looking for. Love that the description had information on what type of foot is best suited for the sneaker. That is how I made my decision.

Wife has hard to fit feet. Very wide. These slid right on. She likes the cushion, I like the looks. Can't ignore these sneakers!
