For me, the 1080v9 was the best this model achieved. With the v10 New Balance radically changed the feel and form of the shoe. This new v11 mostly copies the things I disliked about the v10. I don't feel supported. The shoe is too tight across the top of my foot. And my feet tend to roll inwards unnaturally causing knee problems. I have no idea why New Balance changed from the v9 but I get the feeling engineers were trying to justify their jobs and change something that didn't need to be changed.

If you are reading the early reviews on here and the low star score, don’t worry, the rating will improve as these are great shoes. They use the exact same chassis as the v10’s, and give you that dreamy ride with the stability included. The upper fits a little looser because it is more breathable. It may give the impression of being loose but with lace adjustments and breaking in the shoe, you will be rewarded with moccasin level comfort with some bounce. Top internet and social media reviewers almost all have these shoes in their top 3. If you liked the v10s you’ll like these too. If you’re new to the 1080 line, if they match you’re gait you will fall absolutely in love!

I really like the 1080v11 shoes. They are well made, comfortable, and nice looking for casual wear. They are a little wider in the toe box than the v10 model which is great if you have wide feet. Very cushy soles make walking long distances on hard surfaces easy. I am no longer able to run any distance (69 with joint replacements) so can’t comment on how well they perform for jogging or serious running. However, given the softness of the soles I imagine they will wear pretty quickly on asphalt. For me, a great shoe.

I have extra wide feet and am always struggling to find good running shoes that fit well and don't hurt my feet when I'm running. I have a pair of 4E NB 1080v10 shoes. These were at the time the best running shoes I could find that would fit my feet. They were still quite snug and I would just have to bear the discomfort while running. I figured I may as well try the new V11 version. They made a huge difference. I don't know if the width of shoes just naturally vary, but the v11 fit my feet much better than the v10. They are so comfortable and the upper material seems softer as well. My feet actually don't hurt now when I run. Some people are complaining about the new heal design, but I haven't had a problem. I would recommend these to anyone with extra wide feet and/or want a soft cushioning running shoe.

I have burned through NUMEROUS shoes looking for the proper combination of support and comfort. Full disclosure I tried the 880s first under the assumption that the 1080s would not have enough support - and while the 880s are a fine shoe - if you need a wide shoe or have PF issues or both THIS IS YOUR SHOE. Without question - and this includes Asics, Saucony, and my long time go-to (until now) Mizuno - this is the most comfortable running shoe I have ever owned - so much so I bought six pairs. (And no, no one offered me free anything)

The cushioning is unlike anything I’ve tried, it is really amazing. I wanted so badly to keep this shoe but my heel slipped when walking for exercise. Running wasn’t as bad, but it was still happening. I tried three different sizes and widths and it happened with all of them.

The shoe is very weak, the heel is very weak, the hinge support broke quickly, I lost confidence in this type of company unfortunately

A New Balance 10.5 4E, wide last shoe, always fits my foot like it was a custom made shoe. The 1080 is an excellent walking shoe. I try to walk a little over 30 miles a week at 2.5mph (24 minute miles). At age 70 some weeks the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. None the less, I consider myself a serious walker. The 1080v9 remains my favorite. The 1080v10 was an excellent shoe, but the life expectancy dropped from roughly 6 months, to a little more than 4 months. The 1080v11 feels much like the 1080v10, but the foam padding feels a tad firmer. I notice it still has the same sole and heel design of the v10 that I suspect is the culprit for the shorter life.

The 1080 v11 has almost everything I'm looking for. The best thing is the collar design, which is so comfortable for my ankle bones.
The only downside is its upper, across the 3rd eyelet it's so tight there... Almost unbearable!!!

My 1st. pair of FreshFoam were as good as NB usually is but these new models are far superior.
From the breathable uppers to the heel support, these are new AND iproved.

They might be a little wide. They are medium width. But I don’t know if a narrow would fit better. Perhaps you could have an option that a person traces an outline of their foot and sends it to
You to check size.

First the good news. Lighter shoe with better cushion. I am running faster than with the super heavy 1540v3.
Bad news:
(1) The upper is too big. When I tighten up the shoe, I get creases where the lace holes are. See photo. The upper is just too big for a narrow shoe. This is creating a potential hot spot.
(2) I tend to rub my shoes when running. The edges of the foam soles no longer have as durable a protective outer coating. See photo. Instead of a occasional nick, I am actually shaving material off of the sole - already 1/4" in the rubbing area. Cheap!
I am growing convinced that these running shoes are no longer for athletes. They are fancy walking shoes. For a narrow footed person like myself, New Balance no longer seems to care. If anyone know a good narrow shoe maker let me know. ( >20 year New Balance buyer)

I greatly appreciate your continued support of a wide of sizes and widths of running shoes, including my hard-to-find size/width (16B). No other shoe manufacturer I know of makes and sells this long, narrow running shoe.
Thank you New Balance for producing such a quality product in so many different styles and size/width configurations.

Generous room in the toe-box, firm arch support and soft landing for heavier runner as I'm ~200 lb's. Out of the box ran 8 miles... knees, hips and back feeling good the following day. Ordering a second pair asap.

I have weird feet. My left is a little smaller than my right, and my heels are thin but my toes are wide. I also have knee problems, but am doing everything I can to stay active. My job also has me on my feet a lot. These shoes tick every box for me. The comfort is out of this world. They look nice enough to get away with wearing to conferences and events where I need to dress up a little beyond casual. They are also more breathable than the v10's which would make my feet sweat after wearing for a while.
If you are looking for comfort and have feet a little wider than the average dude, go for it. I have never before spent this much money on a pair of shoes, but I have never before worn something so comfortable.

most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn; great for my plantar fasciitis and achilles heel tendonitis that I developed over time from wearing extremely cheap sneakers for work. My feet feel great even though I walk alot on a daily basis.

These are the most comfortable athletic shoes I have ever owned. I have a very wide foot (4W) and New Balance is one the few brands that fits true to size. The first day I wore them was for 10 hours (on my feet all day) and they felt like I was wearing slippers. I liked these shoes so much that I ordered a pair for my son the next day.

I've been running in the Nike epic react for the past 4yrs. These NB 1070 v11s are the best running shoes I've had in the past 6 years. The cushion comfort is amazing, it's so easy to run in these. Love them!

I typically love these shoes but this version is not as wide as the previous versions. I wear a 4E. Disappointed because of this. I hope the next versions have a wider toe box

The heal cup is too low compared to the v10 version and my heal slips when walking up hills. I compared it directly to a v10 and the cup is lower and less pronounced. If you love the v10, grab them before they are all gone.

5 weeks ago My introduction to new balance WAS love at first foot. After wearing NB I felt I was missing out this entire time.
I purchased the 1080v for work, a lot of standing and walking back and forth. I have to say, these are 1 of the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. I enjoyed them so much I bought a pair for my wife. But sadly I was quickly disappointed. For some reason the left foot of the foam malfunction or just failed. It's making me hesitant to purchase another pair.
