Pros: This hiking boot is relatively light. The heel cup is snug, feels better than most Above average toe box room. Sole seems stiff enough to take on rocky terrain. I did not hike in them but felt OK walking around the house
Cons: Do not like the tongue which is not padded and the gussets appear poorly made. Questionable defect where mid sole meets the outer sole

I have worn Vasque hiking boots for over 20 years and loved every pair. I was so disappointed in these. They were not only uncomfortable, they HURT! I have very narrow feet and they squeezed the sides of my toes to the point of pain. I don't know if it is just this style or if the company has changed designers or manufactures. They tongue also had no padding. So sad!

I tried on many hiking boots and shoes, both from Zappos and in stores. For me, these were the best pair of the bunch. I haven't yet worn them outside or on a trail, but out of every pair I tried, these were the most comfortable. And I like how they look. Many of the other pairs I tried on were kind of crazy--a foot bed that was too shallow, a toe area that was so big my feet looked like clown feet, or just plain ugly. These checked all the boxes. Plus, my last pair of hiking shoes were Vasque, and they lasted about eleven years, so I am thrilled to be giving them my business again and getting another pair of quality shoes from a brand I now trust. (If these don't work for you, my two other favorites from all the ones I tried were the Teva Ridgeview Mid and the Teva Grandview GTX.) Thank you, Zappos, for your impeccable service and generous policies. Very happy to support your business, as well. I'm sorry to always be trying and returning so many shoes.

I'm surprised that Vasque would offer this shoe as it is a full size smaller than it says. The quality and fit were way below their usual standards. I always have bought vasque hiking boot and have never had an issue with fit with my hikers!
