I purchased a North Face Terra 65 in 2014 as a bargain backpack to meet the unique requirements of a non-standard military unit I became part of. For almost ten years, the Terra 65 stood up to the test of being used and abused in a vast array of different climates in remote sections of the world.
After my retirement from that line of work, I decided to take up backpacking and the Terra 65 continues to meet all the requirements I need. I've used it on trails across the country and I am still in love with the simplicity and functionality that gives the Terra 65 a classy look on the trail. I have no problem organizing my gear for easy access to things I need at a moment's notice. The heavy-duty materials used in this bag's construction give me peace of mind when it encounters obstacles and abuse from airport luggage handlers as well as difficult foliage and terrain that I feel would otherwise rip lighter, more expensive bags. I could on about the other features but if you really want to know, I'd say get one and find out for yourself.
The only cons that come to mind are the weight of the pack. While it's rugged and after 10+ years of hard use is nearly in the same condition as when I purchased it, it's a penalty if you're trying to keep it light. It's not that much of a penalty, but this isn't the pack for you if you're trying to do UL. The other thing I've found dissatisfaction with are the shoulder straps. I'm a man with a larger frame and the shoulder straps will bunch up or roll up and cut into my side. So, unless your trail nickname is "slim" or "twiggy", pay attention to how you fit and size the pack and be prepared for some discomfort. It's more of a nuisance than a deal-breaker but it is still a factor to consider when looking at this pack.

This is a great pack. I have used it several times in multi-day hiking trips, and it is very confortable and light. The side pockets in the best are great for quick access to phone, utility knife and other tools. It is hydration bag ready, which is a big plus for me, as I sweat a lot hydrate often.
The side zippers provide quick and easy access to all pack contents, so, provided you are sufficiently organized, it is very easy to find any particular item.
I cannot emphasize enough the confort of this pack.
The only thing I would have like to see is a rain cover, I had to buy one separately, but other than that is a great pack that I highly recommend to anybody doing up to five day hikes.

I like the versatility of the bag. It is going to be my main long haul backpack for this summer and hopefully many more down the road. I only wish that the straps on the side could extend more so I could put my sleeping pad there but it is not the big of an issue.

Plan on using this bag for a 3 day camping/canoeing trip. I've packed it and it holds everything I need and more! Wish the bottom buckle straps were long enough to hold my sleeping bag though, only downside.

Good back pack. I had an old Pivotal pack that broke. TNF couldn't fix so they replaced. Just like their warranty states. Was super pleased.

Just used this to hike the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. Imagine those in your R&D department actually allowing your hip strap to go live? It's horrid.
