A typical backpacking trip will be 2-3 nights, no more than a 10-mile hike. I just took this backpack on a 2-night trip, in winter (so I packed a bit heavier), and it performed great. Good attachment to the body.

The fit is great got way more space than the last bag i owned. I packed this bag for an overnight trip and i carried more than what i needed and still had space. Also it felt light on my back, Wish it had a laptop sleeve

I love this pack. Plenty of room and I like the full zipper access. Definitely comfortable when packed full. I will use this as my primary backpack for 1-2 day trips.

I had a Terra 65 and it was too big. 10-years later, I downsized to this Terra 55. Still too big. Has comfortable shoulder and waist straps. Sometimes the zippers get stuck (would prefer higher quality zippers) But, this bag is inexpensive. So, it meets expectations. At the same time, I bought my son a Patagonia Cragsmith 45 and it is much nicer. But, the North Face still gets 5-stars because of performance at its price-point.

Very comfortable bag. It really helps lighten the load. I wish the hydration pouch was a little bigger though. It can only fit a 2l bladder comfortably.

Attaches to the back really well, feels like you're almost one with the bag. It's very lightweight, with enough compartments. The lower straps around the waist do take a little getting used to, they are a bit stiff.

I bought the backpack and had a problem with the metallic structure that keeps the back of the backpack firm. I took it to North Face and they immediately gave me a new one. Great warranty policy.

I recently bought this backpack for a trip across Mexico. It's not only comfortable to wear but also big enough to fit clothes for many weeks of travel. I also love that once you empty the backpack it turns very small and easy to store. Very recommended if you're thinking of a backpacking trip.

Have used it for traveling, and short backing trips. Probably wouldn't try to use it on longer backpacking trips (not enough storage space for that, but perfect size for shorter trips). Overall, great product, very happy.

I thought the size of the pack is perfect. You can fit a lot in it. Not a real big fan of the side water bottle pouch, the material is elastic, I would have preferred a draw string pouch, but it does the job.

The pack is both functional and efficient. My local hikes the Terra has worked wonders. Weight is dispersed efficiently. Only think I would change is the logo in white and zipped pockets on front. Otherwise I absolutely recommend. Can't wait for Iceland in a few weeks.

My sister and I got these to use while backpacking Europe and they were amazing. Very sturdy, fit a lot of stuff with the help of packing cubes, and were comfortable to wear.

roomy bag. plenty room for my snowboard gear. water resistant as well , kept all my gear dry. exterior pockets are also very accessible. you are able to sinch down very tightly. i was able to take this as a carryon and fit it in the overhead compartment. i wish it would have came with a raincover as i had to purchase separately. plenty of trips with this bag already and not a single tear. overall great quality.

Car camping, and back packing. Nice piece, doubles as a duffel in the car. And light and just big enough for 2 to 5 days on the trail. Would be a great through hiker also. Easy access to all your gear, and seems larger than the stated load volume. The suspension is great, throw it on and forget about it. Eats up 20 mile days with ease. And did I need to mention the quality, and backed for life. And at age 64, I should get another 30 YEARS out of it . Everything you could ask for, as usual from TNF
